We tried to buy some petunias but the prices were OUTRAGEOUS! $40 for a hanging basket! Wow! Got the exact same amount at Walmart Old Forest Rd for $8.99! Come on guys! They also like to badger you after a bad review. Do kids own this place? I had let it go and you want to keep poking the bear! Bad move from sub par owners!

Evangeline and John were the owners of this 'emporium of yum' for years. Health circumstances prompted a sale to new folks. Sadly, this usually predicts a decline. NOT THIS TIME !The new owners have not only carried on with stocking bulk spices, hard to find flours and baking supplies, prepared salads, plants and fresh produce but their enthusiasm is evident and delightful.Visit and see for yourself.

Best deli sandwiches in either Lynchburg or Madison Heights. Great staff. Always friendly. Buy bulk items or small amounts. Old time sodas.

Expensive but no long lines. If you have money, it's a nice place to pick up old-world baking goods or perhaps a small gift. Polite owners/workers.

I am liking the new Anderson. Seems to still have the very familiar family vibe and I like that. And the important thing is the sandwich was absolutely fantastic. And for a side note, try the macaroons. Very good!

It's a cute dry goods store, but they could have a better selection. It seems every time I go, they don't have what I'm looking for. However, I think they have, in general, what most people are looking for. Local produce, handmade items, locally made baked goods, eggs, etc. A variety of spices and cute items for gifts like popcorn made with different color kernels or old time candy.

We LOVE Andersons. It has an interesting variety of things to buy. Outside are plants and herbs. Inside are bulk items that they've put into smaller, more useable containers, everything from spices to baking needs to jam and honey. Their sandwich counter is very reasonable and, although somewhat limited, comes through with a great sandwich every time. But what I really love is that you can buy your grocery staples, some fresh, in -season veggies, a variety of deli meats and cheeses (including some killer pimento cheese), cool sodas, like Cheerwine, as well as original artwork and used instruments. I've seen banjos, dobros, mandolins, guitars, and they even have a grand piano. If you are lucky, the owner or one of the regulars will serenade you with music while you shop.
