It’s fine. Definitely not the boutique hotel they tried to make it…more like “clean economy”. Stay here with low expectations.Pros:-The location of this hotel is great- very close to Liberty University and lots of shopping. -The entry/lobby is well decorated and inviting. Definitely a boutique look.-Staff are friendly and helpful.-Breakfast was pretty good in comparison to other hotels serving free breakfast. The fresh fruit selection was impressive. Everything was kept filled and hot.- Rooms were overall clean.-Weirdly, the elevators were shockingly fast and quiet.-The price was very affordable.Cons: The room!Let’s just say when you enter the room you will wonder if you are even in the same hotel as the lobby you just left. It gives off that “first apartment on your own” vibe. The first thing I noticed was the industrial fluorescent light fixture set in the ceiling. It gave off the ambience of a classroom or a science lab of some sort. The floor was all tile, and while that is easier to keep clean, there is no noise barrier from the room to the hall or vice-versa. The gap under the door to the hallway is quite large, also. The furniture: It looked like a combo of odds and ends from a pallet sale mixed with furniture salvaged from the previous hotel. Styles and finishes were random and didn’t match at all.The bed: The mattress was hard, and the headboard was velvet (totally unsanitary). There was the most ridiculous metal skirting around the beds that sat flush with the box spring. Every time you got in or out of bed, it sounded like a gong went off, because you inevitably kicked it or even tapped it each time you got in or out of bed. That’s really fun if you need to get up to go to bathroom while everyone is sleeping. The decor: The walls are stark and empty. There is not one piece of artwork to be found. There is no full length, or even just a wall mirror in the room anywhere (besides the bathroom). The light fixtures were as random as the furniture. Between the fluorescent ceiling light, the Target dorm room modern styled desk lamp and a clear, acrylic boutique-look lamp, nothing matched at all. The different clashing hues of blue used in different places in the room will most likely bother anyone who is not color blind. The TV- was probably from the early 2000s. Desperately needs updated. It did work, though, so that’s a positive. The bathroom: It was very small. The mirror is also small- like single person small. and it hangs over the sink basically in front of the toilet (which sits so close to the sink, you can almost wash your hands while sitting on the toilet). There is no way more than one person can get ready/do hair/put on makeup unless you brought a separate mirror with you. They need to add another mirror above the desk for functionality when more than one person is staying in the room.

The entry to the hotel was inviting. The elevators where noisy. The rooms were my least favorite. TVs are small and appear old. The headboard…to me were not hotel friendly. Having so much traffic in and out with the tufted and velvety material is a great place for bed bugs to hide out and just seem unsanitary as sitting up propped on a pillow how many other heads, bodies and […] have been on that “homestyle” headboard. Can’t wipe that down. My husband didnt like the lack of carpet, however I did as I am not walking barefoot on a public floor anyway. And at least with the brighter flooring its not “hiding dirt etc”. Bathroom was small. The chair also gross and to me the material is not hotel friendly. The room overall almost gave creepy vibes. Breakfast was decent the next morning was adequate. Can’t complain on a decent inclusive meal with coffee and juice.

This hotel is truly beautiful. The renovations that have been done are extraordinary. If you are looking for a place to stay in Lynchburg, you really need to check this hotel out! The location is perfect and the staff is always so friendly!Nearby activities: It is very close to the mall and Liberty University.

We stayed here in the middle of the renovation and it sounds like nothing has changed. People, read the negative reviews before you stay. a 4 star rating is not accurate. Management is not good here. Pretty pictures are not accurate. When I stayed there the TV didn't work or the phones .. Nothing has changed.

I have been to many hotels and as soon as you walk into this one the smell is so great along with the Appearance everything looks so pretty and everything is clean Especially considering they are renovating it looks like. Definitely recommend this hotel over the Sleep Inn up the road . Oh and the breakfast was fresh and tasty.Rooms: Very clean and modern

This place is a flaming DUMP of a hotel. Utterly ridiculous that once you exit the elevator, there are no signs to indicate where to find your room, so you literally have to guess which direction to travel down a long hallway in hopes of finding it... When you finally do find it, it is very uninviting and borderline depressing. Once inside the room, the doors leading back into the hallway have large gaps that allow the bright lighting from the hallway to penetrate deep into the room. Also, there are no blackout curtains for the windows. Next, the floors are NOT carpeted, making them cold and unpleasant when you get out of bed. And who was the genius that chose metal skirting to go around the bottom of the bed?? It's incredibly noisy and downright weird. Furthermore, the mattress is perhaps the least comfortable I've ever slept on. Oh, and our television had no signal, so it didn't work. Lastly, and perhaps the most odd thing about this place, is there is NO PHONE in the room! I can't believe any of the favorable reviews for this hotel are from actual guests who paid REAL money to stay here.

November 4 , 2023 around 12:30 pm we checked (myself , wife and son) into the Bella vista hotel for one night stay. we had left to attend my son's football game and returned tot he hotel around 4:30 pm. We all had settled into the hotel room I emptied my pockets which included a pocket flashlight, wallet and folded bills of cash which was the amount of 1200 dollars on the dresser next the tv, along with my sunglasses and cigarettes' and lights. I then took and shower and changed clothes, then picked up my sunglasses, lighter and cigarettes' and exited the room to smoke a cigarette at the designated smoking area in front of the building. my wife and son also left the room about 1 minute after me to go down to the front desk to ask for more towels and go out to my vehicle and grab some more of our belongings. We then returned to the room and noticed some had entered the room and dropped off the towels we requested in the bathroom, which was in the back of the main bedroom. after about a half hour passes of waiting on a uber to pick us up, I then realized my money was no longer on the dresser where i had left it. We searched the room and we couldn't find it anywhere to make sure we were not mistaken about the money being stolen from the room. my wife went tot he front desk and told the receptionist what had happened and was meet with the shift supervisor. the supervisor then had an attitude with my wife and explained that has never happened. when then called the police to file a report and waited two hours for them to show up, the police had apparently spoken with the hotel personnel first, then came to our room and told us there is nothing we could do and the hotel supervisor wanted us to leave the premises without a refund and we were escorted off the property by the police. the hotel staff did nothing to help or our situation and were the most rude and disrespectful people i have ever had to deal with ever. There is no security in the room for valuables

Hotel hires unsavory characters and THIEVES. Then protects the thief after telling you to call the police, Which we did and waited over 2.5 hours as it was a non emergency issue. The staff then yelled at us for asking them to check the cameras and told the officers to remove us from the premises. Long story short. Over $1200 stolen from our dresser from the time I walked down to request towels , wait for a response from housekeeping to the front desk where i was waiting.. then back up to our room 3-5 minutes tops. Someone went in dropped off the towels in the main guestroom bedroom bathroom in the executive suite. Took my hubs money which was on the nightstand with his pocket knife wallet, and personal effects. There is NO SAFE in their rooms,, nor do the phones work. So you have to go to the front desk for any request. We were not leaving the hotel but only left the room to request items and come back to the staff already entering our room unapproved and stealing his money.Safety: You and your belongings are not safe in this hotel, The staff protects the thieves and then portrays you as the bad guy for bringing the issue to attention.

Bella Vista is a newly branded motel that has successfully been remodeled. The entrance and lobby are plush, in contrast with the minimalistic feeling rooms. I liked it!My only con; a sheet metal skirting around the beds. I accidently kicked it a couple times and it sounded like a gong! Very annoyingThe room was clean and bright. While the bathroom was small, a second sink near the closet made it all work.Best attribute; the breakfast was delicious, fresh eggs & bacon with hot coffee. Their new restaurants will only make it even better.

This is a candid review of the "Newly renovated" Bella Vista Hotel & Suites, previously known as The Kirkley Hotel. We have stayed at The Kirkley Hotel for many years when visiting our family in Lynchburg and we were very excited to see that it was being updated to a boutique hotel.Well, from the minute we arrived there, we were very DISAPPOINTED. We get to the room and the smell knocked us over. It was some kind of foul deodorizer and it literally took our breathes away. Plus, there was no phone. So, we had to go back down and ask for a new room without deodorizer. The front desk person was very accommodating and got us another room in like 15 minutes. The new room was better, but very sparse furniture and no place to put our toiletries in the bathroom. Plus, we sawvarious handymen working in the hallways and rooms. We did not get a warm and fuzzy feeling, thinking maybe renovations are still being done. The next day we go down around 9:30AM for breakfast and we were not happy as the hot food servers were empty, just plastic wrapped food was available.Another very annoying thing is the lower bed frame is made of aluminum and super noisy if you accidentally hit it. Very weird.I can see why there were very few other people at the hotel while we were there. We are very sorry to say, that this is NOT currently a "boutique hotel".

Clean and well appointed. Comfortable and great to come back to. Delicious hand crafted omelets accompany a hardy breakfast. Once they fix the TV issue, it will have a perfect score. And they have a pool to unwind in after a hard day on the road. Beautiful hotel!!!

My family and I stayed at the Bella Vista for the first time and it was an absolutely wonderful experience. It was a long drive from Florida and we were so welcomed by Linda when we got there. It was like being greeted by family and good friends. She was so friendly and attentive and went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable and memorable. The hotel room and amenities were immaculate. There was jazz playing softly as we approached the front doors walking on the cobblestone drive. I was very impressed with the size of the room and how clean it was. The indoor pool was very clean and well maintained but was a little cold, so we decided to get some exercise on the treadmills for a while. The next morning we had a great breakfast and a kind gentleman made me an omelet while having some good conversation. The Bella Vista truly had more of a “resort” feel than a hotel. It’s somewhere I didn’t want to leave when it was time to go. We saw Linda the night before we left as we were walking through the lobby and talked for a while. She made us promise to call the next day when we got back to Florida to let her know we made it back safe (and we did). As great as the facilities and room were, the entire staff (and certainly Linda!) were truly the stars of the trip for us. We will DEFINITELY be back to the Bella Vista every time we stay in Lynchburg!Rooms: The room was very clean and spacious. I appreciated that the floors were not carpeted. There was a mini fridge, microwave, and tv.
