Made a reservation for a small car, they called me at 1945 when my reservation was at 2100. I missed the call and called CS at Avis that verified my rental was good. My AMEX showed a pending charge at 1830. I get to the desk at 2100 and no one is there, call a number listed on a sign and when the rep picks up he says that he is somewhere else and can’t come to the desk. Tells me that there is no availability even though the reservation is still showing in my app. Got no help at all, dismissed me, without any empathy at all. As many times as I’ve rented from Avis, this is the most disregarded I’ve seen a location.

Bad experience with front desk. This man shouldn't be there . His customer service skill is zero. I wait for 15 mists to correct the fuel level on paperwork and finally give up and lift.

We have a reservation, we have been waiting at the counter and there is no one at the counter, no one answers the number posted to call if the is no one at the counter, also called the national customer service, they transferred me to supervisor where I got a voice message to call back during "normal business hours"... it was 20 minutes before the end of the "normal business hours"really???UPDATE - On Aug 12, I replied as directed and sent all the requested info... but still no response...

UPDATE: Avis made it right taking responsibility for its damages. Thank you for doing so and making it right. I appreciate that.The staff was great! I have no issues with them. I did however have tire pressure issues with multiple vehicles during my time. I returned a vehicle after driving 20-25 miles. The second vehicle I drove a little over 200 miles and had to replace it the third day due to a flat tire. I received a third vehicle the next day 3-4 hours after estimated time of arrival. I returned the third vehicle on the fifth day and later received a bill in the mail hailing me responsible according to the terms and rental agreement.

The lady at the front seat is racist and very very rude. Avis has great service but she is absolutely horrible. She really needs to get fired, ruined the entire experience.

Great rental at a good price. Only thing bad is if you pre pay for your rental, they might not give you a refund if you return it early.

The AVIS Car rental at the Lynchburg Regional Airport is top notch. I rent cars from this AVIS over 10 times a year for business and I have never had any issues. All of the staff members on hand are very friendly and courteous.

Lynchburg Avis staff was a 10 and went the extra mile in helping me. Avis phone customer service was a 2 and Avis was a 1.I booked flights and car 8 months early for college graduation. My flight times were changed by the airline several times resulting in a midnight arrival in Lynchburg after Avis closing. My wife arrived before me but could not pick up the car "because I was the one who rented it." I could not add her to the reservation or make a new reservation and get the same vehicle I booked 8 months in advance. Avis phone customer service understood my issue, agreed with me, but was unable to help resolve my issue because of policies and rules that do not care about the customer or any issues that may happen during travel changes. No common sense. No authority to make a decision and help the customer. I also asked each agent if I could speak with a supervisor and they said no. Avis is too big to care about the customer. After speaking with four different customer service personnel on four different calls (Hung up on once, transferred back to the computer twice) I had one person say maybe call the desk of Avis at Lynchburg and they could help you. Thankfully, Terresa, at Lynchburg Avis said they would stay after closing until midnight to allow me to get the car I reserved. That is how to take care of the customer. I travel for business and pleasure 20-30 times a year. In the future I will rent from Avis only in Lynchburg and I will look to rent form other non-Avis affiliated rental car companies for all other travel.

Had us in our rental fast . Good customer service . Only bad thing and it's minor . The car still had trash in it and wasn't very clean .

I was given a choice of 2 cars of which I chose the 2022 Dodge Challenger GT. This car was fun, sporty and an eye catcher. The staff was professional and nice.
