I Needed to buy a few tools for a project and did a search for local hardware stores. I generally prefer small independents to the big box retailers. This store is the reason I do- upon walking in I was offered assistance and immediately found what I needed. At the register I made an impulse buy ( a pocket knife ) and found something perfect with help. The people running this store know what they are doing, are friendly and helpful.

Bought a house a week before our wedding and was in a scramble to get what I needed to fix it up enough for me an my now wife to move in. Skyline was there and had everything I needed with their tools being cheaper than that of other hardware stores in the area. The experience was amazing with staff treating their customers well and always willing to help. The only issue I had was with an older gentleman who works there currently. He was nice at first though started to get snotty acting and put on an attitude the more I came in over the span of a few days getting what I needed for the house. The issue peaked when I grabbed some trim from the $13 bin and the trim came out to $17. Told him I think it’s $13 for this but is was mixed up a bit over there, he had an attitude already but when he rung it up he got more snotty and aggravated with me being in the store. Went in another day when the owner was there and it was back to the original store atmosphere where the service was great and the older gentleman managed to put his attitude on a leash. I hope the owner knows about the older gentleman’s attitude as that kind of stuff can drive away customers.

Every time I visit this store, whether it's for plants or paint, I receive great customer service and products. Love being able to give my family's 71 year old house a little touch up here and there with trusted products, and with help from a great place right down the street.

I won't go to Luray without stopping by Skyline Hardware. The store is well organized and stocked from top to bottom (literally) The staff is extremely helpful & greet you at the door. They are pros at what they do and know their products. Pricing is comparable if not better than your big box stores in NoVa. Skyline does not carry the junk brands that HD & Lowes stock, only quality tools and products. I mentioned I needed a quantity of sealant they did not have, my next time in the store they had two cases waiting for me. A+

I'm a frequent visitor to Luray and I'm pleased to report that great customer service is alive and well at Skyline P & H. It's the way it was pretty much everywhere back in the day, but not so much at present, yet we need it desperately. I was a customer on an auto key issue recently and was accorded first class service by the owner as well as staff member Robin. Mega kudos Robin! My two grimey doggies even got an invite to come inside for a break from the heat but they politely declined while giving me dirty looks cause their baths were late. People of Luray, I say you've got some very fine folks operating their small businesses, so let's give them a shot to earn our business before we go to the impersonal big boxes. Skyline P & H is obviously ready to help in a big way. Wouldn't hesitate to return!!!

Employees are very knowledgeable and very helpful. Skyline Paint & Hardware has UPS to drop off packages to be shipped. Love this business!
