This place associates with good old memories. Honestly, I don’t remember how good their food was, but local wines and cheese selection was good. Used to stop by there every time we went to Shenandoah…

Great food! Loved the Salmon, cheesecake and chicken. The atmosphere was old fashion and scene looking over Lurray was super

Surprised at the quality of the food and the gluten free items on the menu. We had a great lunch. The view is terrific. Our waitress was great.Dietary restrictions: Gluten free items on the menu.Parking: This is a busy place on Skyline Dr. so the lot is really busy!Wheelchair accessibility: Ramp into the dining room ...auto.atic doors.

The view was outstanding!!!! We were lucky and got a window seat for a sunset dinner and it was beautiful. We ordered the charcuterie board, which was fantastic. I did wish it had a little more meat on it.I ordered the NY Strip with garlic mash potatoes and mixed vegetables and my husband ordered the Venison Stroganoff. Our food was delicious but I ordered my steak medium and it was beyond well done, which made it tough. They were extremely busy so I did not want to wait for a new steak. Hubby said his meal was fantastic. The service was outstanding. The hostess Mrs. Rebecca was great and funny and our waitress Holly was amazing!Kid-friendliness: They have high chairs, an OK kids menu and actually give the kids a good serving for food and drinks.

Breakfast was just heated up frozen food. Horrible experience! We ate with plastic fork out of plastic plates?!?! Our server never came back and checked on us after we got our food and they weren’t busy at all. The view would have great has we been able to see through the dirty windows. The wait staff should be made to cover their tattoos as it looks very unprofessional and trashy imho.

We had a couple 2 days of dining experiences at the restaurant during our stay. Our first meals taught us how to make better choices the second time around. During our first dinner, they ran out of the pasta dish my husband wanted, so he ended up ordering the trout, which he found quite disappointing (and he's not a picky eater). I opted for the short rib meal, which was tasty, but it arrived lukewarm. On top of that, the dishwasher was out of order, resulting in everything being served on paper plates with plastic cups and utensils, even the wine. However, the Caesar salad and Brunswick stew were highlights. For breakfast the next day, we both decided to try the Stonyman breakfast. The sausage and bacon were delicious, and the eggs were decent. There was only one piece of toast per dish which was stingy, cut in half, and we had to ask for jam. On the bright side, the Starbucks coffee was excellent, but the potatoes were not up to par. For our second dinner, we both opted for burgers, which turned out to be decent. The coleslaw was very good, but the homemade potato chips were a bit disappointing. For our final breakfast, I ordered the blueberry pancakes, which were excellent. My husband went for the Stonyman breakfast again, and to our surprise, it came with two pieces of bread this time! My coffee even came with a lid and a little spoon for stirring the cream, something that was missing on our previous breakfast visit. Butter and jam were already on the table, which was a welcome change. It's clear that the quality of service varies depending on the waitress. Our server today was excellent; she even inquired about our food and offered more coffee or tea, which was a marked improvement from our experience with yesterday's waitress. In summary, the food at the restaurant is decent if you know what to order, and the quality of service can vary. We're left wondering when they'll manage to fix the dishwasher, which would certainly enhance the overall dining experience. The venue, however with its magnificent views is wonderful.

Fantastic view, great tasting food, and good service. However do not eat here if you’re in a hurry because the food takes awhile to arrive and takes even longer to pay your bill. Also very pricey on the cost and not sure why they’re still using plastic utensils and paper plates.

Probably the worst service I may have ever experienced today. Only the tap room was open at 4:30. Sat down and for 15 min wait staff walked passed me without even acknowledging I was there. I finally got up and went to the bar where service was a little better.

Lovely place to stop along Skyline drive. Unfortunately, the kitchen was only serving soup and salad the day we went. The caesar salad with shrimp was fine, but not exactly what I was looking for.Our server was great, but it was clear the place was understaffed. Not our server's fault, but it slowed things down. The view out the back windows is lovely. There is also a nice gift shop that also carries camping supplies and a Starbucks in the same building.Definitely go...maybe just see if they have a full menu that day first.Kid-friendliness: Great place to bring kids

We always eat here, albeit not all meals. When we stay at Skyland we bring our own snacks, sometimes our breakfast, etc. The dining can be a bit pricey. However, on this visit we came for their blackberry cobbler. They do also have blackberry ice cream but find it a bit sweet, especially with the cobbler, so we choose the vanilla ice cream with the cobbler and coffee. It's a nice treat they serve every Fall. Enjoy.
