About Fortune's Cove Preserve
Fortune's Cove Preserve is a relatively small wilderness area with two main trails - the White trail (4.1 miles, moderate difficulty) and the Yellow trail (5.8 miles, difficult/strenuous). The White trail features a 1.2-mile climb to a nice overlook, followed by a mostly downhill return. The Yellow trail is known for its outstanding views at the top, but the steep inclines make it a challenging hike. The trails offer a variety of terrain, from wooded areas to mountain views. Hikers recommend wearing pants to avoid poison ivy, bringing plenty of water and snacks, and using hiking sticks for the more strenuous sections. The upper loop of the Yellow trail is less traveled but worth the extra effort. While not a typical "walk in the park," Fortune's Cove Preserve provides a great workout and beautiful scenery for those seeking a more rugged hiking experience. The small parking lot can fill up quickly on weekends, so visitors are advised to arrive early or go during the week. Overall, this preserve offers a rewarding hike for those prepared for the moderate to difficult terrain.

Not you typical walk in the park but if you are looking for some exercise, Fortune's Cove Preserve is just what you want. Great rugged hiking. Early season hiking would avoid some poison Ivy or wear pants... bring plenty of water and have fun.
Parking: Thanks whoever does the maintenance and mowing!

Didn't realize how nice this trail was. First time hiking it. Views are great since there are no leaves in the way right now.
