Do not bank with United. The website is horrible. It doesn’t allow you access frequently and is not capable of much. The tellers no longer put in travel notices and claim you can do it online but I could not find how to do that on the website and had to wait for open hours to call the main number after the weekend which had my card inactivated while traveling. I tried to close two accounts. The money was taken out of the accounts but I still receive notices that there are the accounts with no money in them. A mobile deposit that I attempted did not deposit due to internet insufficiency. They argued that the money was deposited and would not deposit the check when I brought it in. So another one was provided by the client who insisted the money was not debited from their account. I could go on but will not.

Seems everytime you are needing to pull up your account on mobile banking some sort of maintenance taking place and you are never made aware of it. Never know how long it will be. Very frustrating I use it only as my main account to do monthly bills living paycheck deposits etc. Won't be around much longer the stress is not worth it. I'm grateful for my other private account that we use several times throughout the year different bank no issues

HORRIBLE. Trying to cash/deposit my 1st check after the change they refused to do it. I've been at this location since it was Bank of Louisa years ago. Never had an issue until now. Will be closing my account 1st thing tommorow. There are better banks everywhere. Utterly disappointed by this place.

Honestly I hate this new change, I had my bank account with Essex set up the way I wanted it then untied came along ruined everything my bank account was never allowed to go into the negatives it would automatically decline my card, I didn’t know my bank account could go into the negatives I bought something I had enough money on my card it still put me in the negatives. I hate this new change I want Essex back. Y’all are probably going to lose me as a customer Because I hate United bank!!! I tried calling but no one would answer the phone when Essex was the bank name y’all answered the phone. Bad experience I never had a bad experience with y’all ever until this change.

Very poor mortgage processing dept - after 4 months got denial from a Mortgge Company as Essex could not provide Income proof despite every document required produced. They do not care. Bankers are nice but Mortgage Dept needs major upgrade

Always an extremely long wait. No matter the time of day. Lobby needs to be reopened for commercial customers at very least. Signing paperwork should also be done in the center not the the drive up.
