I would like to provide feedback on my recent experience. While the service and products at MyEyeDr. are generally commendable, I encountered an issue during my visit. The receptionist appeared to be engaged in a personal call while handling sensitive personal information regarding my children's records and during my preliminary eye exam. This behavior felt disrespectful and unprofessional, as medical offices have a responsibility to maintain a certain standard of care, including protecting patient privacy and ensuring a safe and comfortable environment. I trust that steps will be taken to address this matter promptly, as I value the exceptional service provided by the other staff members at the office. The other staff at the office were amazing! Their positive attitude stopped me from leaving the office immediately.

Reviews make sense for this location. We walked in to try on some frames for our kindergartner, and while I didn’t catch the girls name… she was SO helpful in helping us determine a brand to go with and an idea of how to best go about getting the right size for our daughters tiny head ?10/10! Great staff! Highly recommend going here if you’re like me with little to no understanding of glasses and need help finding a pair for your kids.

VERY DISAPPOINTED.I have been going to MyEyeDr for a long time and service was always GREAT.Today I felt like NO ONE CARED. The lady that took me to the back and checked my eyes was very dry and chewing a gum with her mouth open the whole time. The eye Dr was ok, but definitely on a rush to leave. The 2 guys in the front supposed to help me with glasses and lenses, disappeared for a long time, I had to go find them. One of them helped me but also let me know that he was busy on the back. During check out nobody presented me options of how much I had to pay with every choice. Instead I felt rushed and not welcomed AT ALL. I ALSO HAD AN APPOINTMENT. During check in the lady on the front desk never got my insurance information, only asked my name and gave forms to fill it out, not disclosing my option from my insurance, leaving me surprised at the end of entire experience

I bought a pair of eyeglasses from here about 2 years ago. I went back several times complaining that I couldn’t see with them. I almost fell down the stairs with them on. I was told keep wearing them and I would get used to them. Fast forward two years later, I still cannot wear them. I have since been seen at a different eye doctor office. I brought my glasses into them complaining that I can’t wear them because my balance is off when I have them on. They checked them and found out that the glasses were cut incorrectly with the center being way off. I went back to the center in Lorton where I bought the glasses and was told there is nothing they can do!!!! This is unacceptable! I could have fallen down the stairs and been hurt, or even driving and gotten into a terrible car accident!

Thomas was absolutely wonderful and dedicated his time to helping my cousin find the perfect, fiscally responsible decision for her glasses. 10/10 would recommend this MyEyeDr over any over location.

I was kept in the office for insurance verification for over an hour after my visit with the eye doctor. My visit with the doctor lasted 20 minutes. When I made my appointment, I gave to this office all my insurance information. The employees were not as courteous as it should. I will never recommend anybody to myeyedr's office. NEVER!!!!

First time at Myeyedr and they told me my glasses would be ready in a week and that they would call me, that week passed and I didn't hear anything for them, so I had to call and they told me that the doctor that did my exams left a note saying that I "changed my mind and that I wanted a refund" which was not true so I let them know, they told me they would call me the next day to verifying the information and guess what? I didn't receive any call so I had to call the next day, again I was that one who had to call, they just said "oh we are sorry that was a mistake" and told me that my glasses would be there the following week, and that they would call me, well guess what? They didn't call, it's been almost 4 weeks and they haven't call or said anything about my glasses...

When I first met Dr. Choi and saw his earrings, I thought, "Oh good, someone cool!" I could not have been more wrong. The appointment had barely begun when Dr. Choi informed me that he wouldn't be able to do the eye exam, because he didn't have time to dilate my eyes before he went to lunch, and I would have to come back another time. I was surprised, and I let him know that it seemed unprofessional to book appointments at times when he doesn't have time to do an exam, because it's not really fair to have patients show up only to tell them they have to come back another time. I am autistic--which he knew or should have known from my intake paperwork--and so I find last minute plan changes difficult to manage. He was angry at me for being upset and needing time to process, and he kept saying, "So I guess you just don't want me to eat lunch?" I had not asked him to skip lunch, simply given him feedback that not leaving enough time for the appointment was unprofessional. He said this over and over, even though I asked him to stop, even though it was clearly making me more upset. The other gentleman I spoke with (I didn't get his name) I think had good intentions, but his choices really just made things worse. I'm honestly not entirely sure why he got involved, because Kelly was already helping me, and more confrontation just made me more agitated. He kept trying to convince me the whole situation was my fault, and I truly don't understand why he thought that would help. (By the way, I have since confirmed that "eye health exam" is the type of appointment I booked. I don't think it was unreasonable of me to think that meant a full examination of my eyes, not just a test of my vision. It's also literally the only appointment type you can choose online. I do not see how I could have known there were multiple appointment types. This gentleman's opinion that I should have somehow known to call and ask is nonsensical.)Kelly was amazing, and is the reason this review has two stars instead of just one. She completely understood where I was coming from, and offered apologies for the way Dr. Choi treated me. She also completely understood that I needed space to calm down and process before I could figure out what I wanted to do. She let me sit down away from the busy space, and she brought me water. Once I was calmer, we figured out a solution together. Honestly, the rest of the staff should get training from her on how to work with neurodivergent patients, and she should get a raise. She's also the reason I'll be coming back to the practice, to see a different doctor that she praised highly, on a day when Dr Choi is not there. If that experience goes well I'll bump up my rating, but I'm deeply disappointed by my interactions with Dr. Choi. Comments like that I "came in with an attitude" are deeply anti-autistic. A direct way of speaking and difficulty handling unexpected changes are not "an attitude," and his choice to make ableist comments to me and failure to accommodate my autism were not only deeply hurtful, they also violated my rights under title III of the ADA. I strongly urge you to provide your staff with additional education and training so they can avoid illegal discrimination against disabled patients in the future.
