“First American Carpet & Floors Provided Exceptional Quality and Service
Lured by a military discount and rebate promotion, we endured a frustrating and time-consuming experience from Lowes Home Improvement. After multiple visits to the store and dealing with conflicting information on process and cost, we had enough and returned to First American Carpet & Rug, where we first bought and carpeted our home in 1984.
Derrick competently presented us with quality carpet options and offered a great deal, including high-rated quality padding with a moisture barrier. This padding enhanced comfort will extend the carpet’s life, and improved insulation and soundproofing. The most rewarding aspect of working with First American was interfacing with only two people, Derrick, and the installation team, and receiving consistent information.
Derrick personally visited our home to precisely measure the bedrooms, hall, and stairway. Jose, son of Orlando who installed our carpets in 1984, led his team of experienced installers who must have exceeded industry standards and best practices. They did an outstanding job, with seams strategically placed to be inconspicuous and the carpet cut accurately around edges and obstacles, transitioning smoothly to bathroom tiles.
Within an hour of project completion, Derrick made a follow-up visit to ensure the carpet met all workmanship standards. He emphasized the importance of proper stretching to avoid potential wrinkles and was pleased with the tight stretch and his precise measurements that minimized waste and ensured a perfect fit. We will always rely on First American Carpet for our flooring needs.”
“Wow! Look at the hardwood flooring we had installed on 4-15-24 on the stairs and the whole second floor. It only took 2 days! The whole job cost $10,680 for hardwood upstairs the stairs to the first floor. We paid $2100 for high quality vinyl for the stairs going to the basement with the landing, plus tax. We worked with They have a tiny store at 5622 Ox Rd, Fairfax Station, VA 22039. Or call 703-764-9330 and they will come to your house. I got 2 other quotes from well-known companies. The estimates for the exact same job were $18,473 and $22,250. The company with the highest quote was very nice and informative. He told me his crews have been with him for 20 years. I was tempted, but just couldn't pay close to double the price. The 3 man crew that came Monday worked FAST. The lead man has been with his boss for exactly 20 years, since he was 16 years old. He did all of the stair work, beautifully. The second day he came alone and finished the job. We Love our new floors!”
