Not happy at all with Suntrust in Ashburn. I deposited a check, the check posted, and the money updated in my Available balance. Except it certainly is NOT available. I needed to use the money for a wire transfer, and despite the check posting and the available balance updating, I was refused the wire transfer because the funds were not yet "collected". If the funds are not available, then DO NOT show them in my "Available balance". I will be looking for another bank ASAP.

Online bill paying works great until it doesn't. Online support is an AI system that is worthless for individual issues. Calling and navigating the maze of "customer support" is frustrating. In my case they could not resolve or even clearly explain what changed in their system (or possibly a third party that actually does the bill paying). Now that they're in the middle of a merger to become Truist, I have no hope for things getting any better. So if you're concerned about getting your mortgage consistently paid on time, Join me in looking for another bank.

I rarely leave reviews and usually only do if I have a lot of positives to report, but I had to leave one here because am extremely frustrated with the service at the drive-thru at this particular location today. I came by at 1:15pm, was the only one in the drive-thru and didn't see many cars in the parking lot. I waited a good 7 mins before someone even acknowledged i was there (I pressed the call button maybe 3-4x) and had a simple transaction that took somewhere around 10 minutes or more as I had two screaming babies waiting in the car with me. I'm not sure if this is a staffing issue or what but is clear it's a problem, as I'm now seeing other similar reviews regarding this

Terrible drive through service. Had to wait 5 minutes to be acknowledged and then they said thank you and have a good day and I'm waiting for my ID to come back in the chute when they say "oh wait, did you want to cash your check or what?" Meanwhile, the car in the next row that arrived 5 minutes after me got serviced before me. It's also weird that you cannot see the person that is helping you, there is a tv screen and you see yourself until someone actually acknowledges you. I got conned into opening an account with this bank because of my mortgage and havent been able to close it. Stay away from this location, the drive thru is anything but convenient!!!!!

Do not waste your time trying to do your banking with this branch. The staff is ignorant and slow. They acted like they did not know how to deposit a check. Basic level stuff here. Complete waste of time.

Suntrust used to be such a fine bank to do business with, today not so much. This branch is the epitome of careless ineptitude. They can never help you and always want to pass the responsibility for issues to some far off part of the bank that never returns calls. I have a six figure balance here and they suspended my bill pay because they "couldn't withdraw funds from your account". It is at their bank for Gods sake so how can they not access the account. After 35 years with Suntrust it is time to go elsewhere. It is going to be a pain in the a** to move direct deposits and billpayer information but I'm done with the horse manure.

Update: because i dont trust this bank as they lost all deposits for the day of: 7-24-15 including my check... In which they didnt notify be until i had to call 3 weeks later saying 3rd party chech didnt withdraw and getting nowherr with the branch manager laurie.... Rolling my eye. I received an email from dipti? Letting me know what i already new one werk later. How does a bank lose all deposits for that day and not care to tell until 4 weeks go by????? Well my update is: im going through my own bank which i love to pay this dumb loan. Guess what? My automatic payment was refunded back to me????? What is going on... Obviosly now these morons want to charge me a late fee even though im making double the payment. Really worst bank ever! I do not recommend this branch.

This is the worst bank I have ever done business with, ever. I first closed my account with them several years ago due to the ridiculous fees they imposed for everything. Recently, I needed to close a safe deposit box there. The only key to the box was in a car that was stolen, and as such I had to have the box drilled in to. The first problem was that SunTrust lost my request, so I drove an hour to Leesburg from DC only to find that we could not do anything until a formal request had been put in. Next, I found out that we could only use one of their locksmiths and that it would cost $320! This is highway robbery, by any standards. I have called around and no other bank charges this much (a typical cost is about $100). They also can only drill into a box during the week, so I now I have to miss work for this. When I asked how soon we can do this, I was told that too many of the employees will be on vacation in the coming weeks, so I have to wait until the end of the month. To top it all of, no one I have talked to has been nice or helpful. Do yourself a favor and put your money somewhere else.
