I love the way my feet feel after I get a new pair of shoes from Potomac River Running. The staff are great at helping me find the right shoe and inserts. I recommend this store especially if you need a little guidance.

I love this store. I was originally recommended this store after I moved to the area and was experiencing pain when running. I came in and went through their extensive fitting process after which they found the best shoes for me. 10 years later and I go in there every three months to get replacement shoes and other gear I need for my active lifestyle. The staff area always welcoming and knowledgeable. It is a great place to come and be with runners who really understand what you are talking about. 10/10 would recommend that you come in and get fitted for shoes because as I have been shown, new shoes and socks can fix a lot of pain you didn't even know was cause by your shoes.

Marcus was an amazing salesman. He helped me make sure I got the shoe that best suited my arch and heal, given that my go-to shoe and brand were out of commission. He was personable and kind, and I’m thankful for his patience while I picked out my shoes

I took up running during COVID and have enjoyed it since. I always stuck with my trusty Nike Pegasus, a good shoe for sure. I finally got around to going to Potomac River Running to get fitted and look at some different shoe options. I ended up going to the Leesburg store and the experience could not have been better. Yosselyn welcomed me to the store and took me through the complete fitting process. The process is very thorough, measuring all aspects of your foot, strike pattern and even taking a short video of a run on the in-store treadmill to look at a slow motion of my running gait. Based on the results Yosselyn proceeded to show me no less than 7 different shoe options, encouraging me to take a run outside or on the treadmill to get a feel for the shoe. After numerous runs on the treadmill I landed on the Brooks Ghost 15. Yosselyn was incredibly knowledgeable and thorough, and there was never any pressure to buy shoes there, she was completely focused on finding the right shoe for me. "The shoes will talk to you" was her line, and she was right. I did end up buying the Brooks there, how could I not after such a great experience, and the price was the same as everywhere else. Thank you Yosselyn.

We love our friends at Potomac Running. They are so helpful in getting you into the right shoe. The staff are all runners or walkers so they know the basic needs of their customers. They are patient and don’t push you in a direction you don’t want to go. They are community minded as well with events and programs for everyone. They have the most current versions of the brands they carry which is pretty expansive compared to the big sports store down the street. I never leave dissatisfied.

Woman in Leesburg Very helpful in finding many different pairs of sneakers for me to try. I have some walking issues with my feet. Was able to buy one that would help my problem.

Walked in with the firm intent of purchasing at least one pair of high-cushion sneakers. I needed to find the best high-cushion brands for my knees. There was only one other -male- customer in the store taking up the sales guy’s time, Henry. I waited patiently but there was no letting up - he took up the entire ONE hour as Henry tended to him as if he was a celebrity while I was helped by a teen girl who was still training, she had to keep going to Henry with questions, she literally could not assist me with the simple task of finding the most high cushion brands. Henry continued to tend to this man while he and his wife even tried to encroach into my choices, looking at the shoes I was trying on and asking Henry to bring them the same, on and on they kept him occupied for literally ONE HOUR as Henry was taking the bait while I could not rely on his expertise, he was just quickly throwing a couple of off the cuff suggestions to the trainee teen girl for me and would not switch to me at any point to give me his full attention out of respect !! After a whole hour, that customer and his wife literally LEFT empty handed, they bought NOTHING after all the time and energy that Henry put into it. The curious thing was: they picked up to leave at the PRECISE time that I went to the counter to pay for my own selection. Which makes me wonder: was that a sophisticated hidden sales ploy ? Were they really customers? Or just props !???

I was a bit nervous coming to a running store as I wouldn't describe myself as a hardcore runner (I just run in my neighborhood and the treadmill, no marathons for me). But Will was very friendly and his service and attentiveness put me at ease. After taking my size with his state-of-the-art 3D scanner, he was able to bring out the perfect pair of running shoes (both in fit and a nice blue color, as I didn't want a plain black or white pair). Their pricing is exactly the same as if you bought the same shoes online, so it's definitely worth buying from Potomac River as you get the fit advice and great service.
