Only gave 3 stars due to the fact, there are no Weekend hours and no late evening hours since most people get off work 5pm. Leaves no hours for these people to bank

We've had a joint account here since 1997, my wife had one long before that. Recently they were swallowed up by Access National Bank, who kept the Middleburg Bank signage, and now sold to Atlantic Union Bank, who changed all the signs. Haven't noticed much change in the service... yet. The 5 star rating is for the past 20+ years. We'll have to see how Atlantic Union Bank does- never heard of them.

The service is good but when Middleburg Bank merged with Access National Bank, their fees increased.

I can't believe there are not more negative comments about Middleburg Bank now that it's merged with Access. I've been a bookkeeper since 2010 in the Leesburg area and work with 5 different banks. In the past, I have always been happy with Middleburg, so much so that about 2 years ago, I considered moving my family's personal accounts (10 in total) to MB. I can't say how happy I am that I didn't follow thru with that thought. This bank isn't the same since it became Access. I go to the same branch every week and make a deposit (no cash back) on behalf of a church. The tellers know me even if they don't know my name....it's been 8 years, every week! Two months ago, i went in to make a deposit and was asked if I was on the account which I am not. Because I'm the bookkeeper, I can't also be a check signer. I explained that and they said it would be a problem to make a DEPOSIT into the account! How can that be? I'm not asking for cash back. In the end, the teller took my driver's license and said she'd put me "in the system" as an authorized depositor. It added another 10 minutes to my visit that day, but thought it was worth it to avoid this issue in the future. Since then, I've been asked 2 other times if I'm authorized to make a deposit!!!!! Today is my breaking point. Once again, I go to the drive thru to a teller I see all the time and she asked me for my name, I told her and she said she had to see my driver's license. I told her that wasn't necessary, my name should be listed on the account. No driver's license, no service, so I gave her my license. Ssssooooooo mad! What bank doesn't let you deposit money? I'd get it if I were depositing a large amount of cash into a single account, but it was less than $400 today. After complaining about the policy, I asked what "trips" the need to see my license since they don't do it every time. Told it was policy because Access wants to know "who" is making deposits into the account from one deposit to another. I find that ironic since I've never had to produce a license to make a deposit in any of the other 4 banks I associate with thru my bookkeeping business. Such a disappointment that a local bank that had such great service has been reduced to this. Like the previous reviewer, they are reducing hours and nearly half their staff turns over routinely. Access will never get my business. In fact, if I can, I will recommend to my client that we change banks due to their lack of customer service. If you need a new bank in the Leesburg/Loudoun county area, I would NOT recommend Access Bank!

I have decided to close my seven accounts at Middleburg/Access Bank because of the reduction of business hours for both the lobby and the drive-through lanes. Yesterday, I attempted to deposit checks at 5 pm and the drive through window was closed. As of today, the website states the hours are 8 to 6 for both the lobby and the drive through lanes. I called the branch and was told the hours are 9-5 Monday through Friday, and on Saturday, the drive through lanes are closed. The bank recently made the decision to reduce the hours by two hours apparently without having concerns how it would affect its customers, or giving notice to its customers. I intend to find a bank that makes decisions based on what is best for its customers. "Access CEO Michael Clarke, who oversaw the merger [between Access National Bank and Middleburg Bank], confirmed that 4,000 Middleburg Bank customers closed their accounts and went elsewhere since the merger. Other sources said it may be as many as 6,000 from an original 42,000 base. "Some of the discontent we've gotten is a result of policies that impact the mass consumer market," Clarke said in a recent hour-long interview. "We're placing the emphasis on businesses and local organizations and the people who are affiliated with those organizations. Our primary focus is in supporting the small and mid-sized businesses in the $1 million to $2 million range in revenue. That's a market that is not well-served by the larger banks." Source Facquier Times April 28, 2018. I have been a customer of Middleburg Bank since January 1998 and have maintained two business accounts and five personal accounts. Please note that all but one of the other reviews on this site are previous to the acquisition of Middleburg Bank by Access National Bank last year.

Middleburg bank was the best for so many years. They recently merged with Access National and with that came fees for checking. If you don't have an average daily balance of 1500 you can expect to start paying 15.00. Such crap. Miss you Middleburg, bye access national.
