About ION: The Rinks At Compass Creek
Ion International Training Center is a large and well-maintained ice facility that offers a variety of programs and amenities for visitors. The ice house is notably big, making it suitable for events like the congressional cup, and the facility features friendly staff who go out of their way to ensure guests feel welcome. Management is attentive and approachable, with staff members engaging with visitors and making their experience enjoyable. The center has a spacious bar and restaurant area, which is popular among parents and spectators, creating a lively and friendly atmosphere. Visitors appreciate the presence of fun features like a cotton candy machine, and many consider it one of the best ice rinks they have visited. The center hosts numerous hockey programs for different skill levels and offers lessons, which many families and children enjoy. The locker rooms are medium-sized, but some reviews mention issues with repairs and space limitations. The gym is spacious and well-equipped, adding to the center’s appeal. The on-site cafe/bar offers a variety of options for refreshments. However, some aspects of the facility have been criticized. The seating arrangements for spectators are awkward or limited, and the design of the main arena may not be ideal for hockey, with black seats and poor visibility. The locker rooms are sometimes seen as inadequate, and the second rink lacks proper seating, making it hard for spectators to watch games comfortably. The plastic tiles over the ice can feel cold, and visitors recommend better insulation and warning signs to dress warmly. Overall, Ion International Training Center is a friendly, fun, and versatile ice facility with many positive features, but it faces challenges related to seating, ice quality, and infrastructure that could be improved.

Had a blast at the Learn To Curl class! The Loudoun Curling Club members were so friendly and welcoming. I was wary about the class having a good 40 participants but it was well managed - split into five lanes, everyone got plenty of chances to go. Highly recommended.

Sunday Skate day at Ion in support of Kenneth W Culvert, great time, quality ice, got people through quickly to the ice, happy this place is still around and out of bad management hands. Keep supporting this awesome place!
