Assessment fees are a total waste of money that I have been paying since 1994. The ongoing rising payments do not compute!

It's very nice that the HOA provides free notary services for its members. It's very convenient and extremely helpful. The notary is very courteous and professional. I truly do appreciate the service she provided me.

I was disappointed, after 4 years of being on auto pay through the association (not my bank) they charged $50 late fee. First notice I received included a late fee, unacceptable. I reached out unfortunately Bernie Guthrie told me there is nothing she can do and Kimberly Huh told me she has 7,000 properties...nice way to tell a resident they mean nothing, very unprofessional demeanor and she was flustered and frustrated when we spoke, that says a lot. Find better representation. I asked Kimberly Huh if there is a way my auto pay can reflect their increases. I told her I have no problem paying what is due, my problem is having to update my EFT everytime they feel like increasing. She said yes ill send the link then proceeded to send an email stating i had to update every quarter. She lied, and was of no help. She was only kind for the beginning of the call then lost her cool, rude and unhelpful

I’ve owned my home in LRPRA for 40 years. Yes, the HOA is strict. Yes, sometimes the rules make no sense. Yes, the “office” can be challenging……however, there are thousands of residence in this HOA. There are a total of approximately 45,000 in Lake Ridge as a whole (not all in our HOA). The LRPRA can’t possibly satisfy all residence at all times. If you want to live here, you need to ask yourself what are your deal breakers. If you do not want to do yard maintenance plus a bit extra (to help maintain public area adjacent to your property), then this is not the HOA for you.Can they be a bit much when it comes to exterior maintenance, Yes, but overall they are charged with helping maintain the value of our homes and the only way to do that in some circumstances is through strict uniformity. They are responsive to common ground issues based on budget - their staff for this area is respectful and they really do try to help, even when it’s a grey area.Play parks are well maintained. Pools are well maintained. The community as a whole is very clean. They are efficient with snow removal and the trash service is very reliable and do all they can (within the contract) to work with the homeowners on bulky pickups.Bottom line, this isn’t a bad HOA. It may not be the best but as long as you can see the bigger picture behind some of the decisions, you should be able to enjoy the community for many, many years.

I signed my son up for swim lessons. After I paid, there was no correspondence, update, nor reminders. When I called closer to the session for clarity, the woman who answered was aggressive and rude. Once class actually started, the instructors ignored 3/4 of the class. There were 8 children and the two instructors focused heavily on two. Sometimes both instructors were with one particular child, while the others were on the wall. They held up the queue for the slide to coax the two children down the slide, while the other kids waited around. They would take the Royal off spring further out into the water to practice kicking and streamline , but not the others. They chastised children for making their own fun in the pool, but the reality is the children had to occupy themselves! They were repeatedly told to do bobs while the instructors played with and cajoled the Royal children. I chose LRA because it was the most for my money, but in the long run it isn’t worth it. They started class at 5:05, then 7-9 minutes of bobs, plus the gaps between exercises, plus the wait time while they nursed the Royal tots, and waiting for the slide . It doesn’t end up being worth it. The get two stars because the program is great, in theory!

My family has been living in Lakeridge since 1987. I have to be honest - all the encounters I've had with LRA have been unpleasant. I find the organization unprofessional and rigid. It's frustrating to deal with an organization that is not flexible and insists on being unhelpful when it comes to simple issues.

My experiences dealing with the Lake Ridge Association and Recreation have been rude, brash and very impartial. Beautiful Community, but not inclusive for all residents!

SCAM. This HOA is the worst one in all of northern Virginia. 25+ people work in this association, yet none of them serve any real or beneficial purpose to the neighborhood. This association only cares about money and enforcing rules that no one wants to pay for. I suggest to any one who is considering moving (RENT OR BUY) to Lake Ridge, VA to find a different neighborhood without HOA. Please do your due diligence before handing your personal property’s freedom to these money hungry fools.
