While we very much appreciate the service they provide to the surrounding community, this fire house in particular allows events on property until 12am that are both loud and disruptive.After our community tried to work with them they first agreed, and things were going well, then there seemed to be a personnel change that caused them to back track and then refuse to make an acoustic accommodation for the neighborhood that has built up around them.It’s so bad, we can’t use our outdoor space to even hold a conversation, and inside our homes the bass resonates throughout consistently. They claim it’s “within acceptable range”, however that can’t possibly be true. We have our own decimal meter that provides evidence that isn't true.We understand they need to make money to support the work they do, but they could try working with the neighbors and not against them. It’s disgusting and disrespectful.Our efforts to address this properly seem to have hit a wall of the “old boys club” and we get nothing. We report a noise complaint, and we are told they don’t have to follow the county noise ordinance of 10pm, that they are permitted events, and that there are actually sheriffs on property monitoring the event.We talk to County officials and get told it’s a volunteer company and they don’t have authority over them.

Nothing against the guys that work there now but way back in 2006 one of the members of this house broad sided me and a friend in the chief's car at Glenmore Way and Village Park. I never forgot the odd way it happened but back in those days there wasn't a stop sign on Village Park. He wasn't on a call as he was only going about 20 mph. Enough to flip us over.

Wow! These folks are the BEST!!!! I had a problem with my security system that called the Fire Department in error. They arrived in 7 minutes! How grateful am I to have these responsive and capable people protecting me and my home! Thank you East Rivanna Fire Department
