Dr. Ashman and Hoofbeat’s goes above and beyond. She has also been diligent about continuing education and staying on top of treatments and research especially regarding lameness. I have a mare that was on pasture rest for a year because no one could figure out what was going on. After seeing Dr. Ashman we are back in business- she found and treated the issue that specialists at vet schools couldn’t figure out!

Hoofbeats Equine has, quite literally, been a lifesaver for my mare. For at least 3+ years, my mare had on-and-off hind end lameness, which included chronic suspensory ligament inflammation. Being in minimal work (mostly hacking a couple times a week), I was incredibly concerned seeing my horse breaking down and moving uncomfortably in the field. I was beginning to worry about her Quality of Life.
I called Hoofbeats to have my horse checked and Brandy noticed something no other vet had in the years we dealt with my mare's lameness. Brandy's body lameness training helped her to pinpoint the problem which was the SI. An ultrasound confirmed this, followed by injections.
My mare went from limping in the field to returning to her dressage career! My mare looks and feels great, and she is back to her usual self even 10+ months after the injections. I cannot thank Brandy and Hoofbeats enough! Brandy's knowledge of body lameness absolutely saved my horse and I will forever be grateful for her great care and eye. Rose and I are back to enjoying life together and our adventures.

Their mobile service is on point. The vet reached out to me personally when my daughter's horse inconveniently found a way to poke his eye on something unforeseen. She came first thing!

Dr. Brandy & Melissa are a great partner of vets. I like that this practice offers wellness plans for their customers to keep quality routine veterinary care affordable for their clients. Highly recommend since you can tell they take pride in their work!

Where do I begin? I have shared our email correspondence as an example of how Hoofbeats Equine Services does business. My kill pen survivor horse and myself were treated very poorly. I could give a long winded review, but I feel the screenshots of the emails would give you enough reason to reconsider hiring them as your new vet. Dr. Brandy Ashman and Melissa Smith not only lack compassion for horses but professionalism as well. If you do not have a show horse or easy keeper then do not even bother giving this equine office an opportunity to ruin your day! This equine vet is obviously accommodating to the show horse world. Definitely not concerned about helping horses that are on the road to recovery! I will make sure to do my part and spread the word among the local horse community.
