Great People and Just a laid back Vibe.Best Showers so far.

Dog-friendliness: Saw people with there dogs on Leashes
Picnic area: On your site have a picnic table.

Toilets: The facilities at the camping site were great. Spent the weekend there, it was clean and had everything we needed.

Park Rangers are very helpful and nice. Beautiful place to spend a day. We paid $7 for parking our car and spent a few hours visiting the park area. They will provide you a Map.
Toilets: Restrooms are there.

I rented a cabin with a couple of friends at Smith Mountain Lake State Park in March of 2023.
Although it was a little bit chilly that time of year, it was actually a nice season to visit. The park was not very crowded, and the lake was clean and clear. The cooler temperatures were perfect for taking advantage of the many mountain hiking trails and then enjoying the fire back at the cabin.
Also, some gorgeous early spring blossoms appeared throughout the park. Finally, as a city dweller, I loved seeing the stars at night.

Great place to hike, or justsit and relax taking in the fall colors! Beautiful grounds with many interesting features to take in and absorb the surroundings, highly recommend visiting if in the area. Would also suggest repeat visits at different times of the year to discover new items and opportunities or something that was overlooked or missed.

Living here most of my life, I can tell you the lake gets boring pretty quick especially if you’ve gotten bored with wakeboarding. There’s just not much to do around here compared to a beach in Florida or heck even Virginia Beach. If you’re not local then just drive another few hours to Virginia Beach or the Outer Banks. You won’t get bored at those locations

Smith Mountain State Park is great. It is the most peaceful and quietest park we've stayed at. The host there is super nice and the park is kept clean and the bathrooms and showers are really clean too. We would recommend staying there if you ever have a chance to. We wil be going back again.

Cabin was very clean and well-kept. Easy walk down to the dock. Deck was great for enjoying the scenery and sounds. Fire pit and grill worked great. Nice place!
Dog-friendliness: Great trails to hike on, cabins are easy for dogs to access and are durable.
