I simply cannot put into words how much I love this store. They have it all - fresh produce, canned and dry goods, candy, coffee, antiques, candles, furniture - you name it. The staff is friendly and the store is very inviting. As a fan of old fashioned general stores, Hillmont Mercantile is in my top 3 for sure.

Wonderful place to find heirloom tomatoes, which you can save those seeds and grow your own plants, wonderful selection of merchandise and fresh foods, and even consignment. Wonderful, friendly staff that’s always looking to improve their shop and very creative on their designs.

Hillmont Mercantile was a quant store filled with so many options for antique furniture, cookware, canned goods and produce. I was able to find lock lid jars for my kimchi in perfect condition at an amazing price. The owner was kind and generous with a wealth of knowledge to share about our community!

Hillmont Mercantile is a definite stop when visiting Hillsville, Virginia! It's in the heart of historic downtown, and when you walk inside, it's like stepping back in time. Groceries, antiques, locally made furniture, old timey candies, pop (soda) in glass bottles, and a porch with rockers where you can sit & watch the passers-by. It's located in the old Hillmont Hotel. The owner of the Mercantile can tell you all kinds of cool history about it.

Always a great place to stop and get some great produce when near Hillsville - got tomatoes (canned juice, hierloom for slicing) , rubarb, strawberries, etc ). All good and fresh. Great proprietor.

It was all decorated for Christmas. Everything looked so festive. The ladies are very friendly and inviting. I always totally enjoy my visits to Hillmont Mercantile.

Hillmont Mercantile is an awesome, old-fashioned store in historic downtown Hillsville. You can find hard candies, drinks, snacks, produce, baked goods (local bakery), ice cream, jarred products, antiques, clothing, and more. Take time to sit in a rocker on the porch, listen to the music, and enjoy a bottle of pop while watching the passers-by.
