We have been going to Chesterbrook in Herndon since they reopened post-COVID in July 2020. Both of our children, now 4 and 2, have gone there and we couldn’t be happier with quality of the teachers, the curriculum, and the leadership! Our two kiddos are thriving. Chesterbrook has been awesome, it’s so much more than a daycare. It’s truly a preschool. Our kids learn so much, have so much fun, and we always feel safe knowing our kids are in good hands. If you are in the Herndon/Reston area and are looking for a great preschool, you should checkout Chesterbrook!

Our family has been going to this Chesterbrook location for about 5 years now and though it might be cliché this is a second family for us. The teachers all greet every child by name and genuinely care about the kids' well-being. The program is NAEYC accredited which is a requirement for us as a military family. The curriculum is very well laid out and often pulls from things that are going on in the world at the time (space unit during the solar eclipse, community heroes around Labor Day, etc.) They have fostered a love for learning in our children and we couldn’t be happier. The current principal, Ms. Emma, has put in a lot of hard work to make the school a well-run machine. She has hired or retained exceptional and caring teachers and engages families with fun activities. The teachers are wonderful at communicating if there are issues and strive to meet each child where they are in their learning journey. As a result of Chesterbrook, most of the students in my son’s PK2 class are already meeting or exceeding the academic standards for kindergarten. The teachers also encourage being a good world citizen by learning about other cultures and languages. Though my kids won’t be fluent in Spanish they have an appreciation for the language and seek out words in Spanish when we are out in the community. The school also works to offer extracurricular activities for the students such as dance classes, music classes, soccer, basketball and taekwondo. Chesterbrook has truly helped us raise very well-rounded children. My husband will randomly “spot check” the school and no matter what time of day he shows up the teachers in every class are actively engaged with the students. You can often find them on the carpet playing, reading or doing art projects with the kids. There are too many amazing teachers to list them all out, but we are very grateful to have found such a wonderful community for our kids.Lastly, Chesterbrook also provides a sense of community for the families. There are regular events at the school that allow the families to meet and get to know each other. As a military family we value these relationships and find support in the Chesterbrook community. We highly recommend Chesterbrook Academy.

I've been at Chesterbrook for ~4 years now, and absolutely love it! The teachers genuinely care about their students and are so engaged with them. They work closely with the parents to communicate what is happening in the class and how their child is doing. I've had two kids enrolled at Chesterbrook. One is now in Elementary School, and my youngest will transition to kindergarten in the fall. I've had stellar experiences for both kids. The director is very involved and has great relationships with all the teachers and all the parents. I'd like to recognize the PK2 teachers (Ms. Lidia and Ms. Erie), Ms. Bich, Ms. Dana, and Ms. Emma. They always go above and beyond for the students and the parents. Our family loves Chesterbrook!

I had two boys recently attend Chesterbrook Academy . Our family moved to another location, so we had to change their schools, but I always felt the staff genuinely cared for the well-being and the development of their students. My older son was timid and shy, but he became active and made many friends while he was there. Overall, it was a great experience for both of my boys and I'd definitely recommend Chesterbrook to anybody.

My children attended Chesterbrook Academy Spring St. for a little over a year. We would still be there if we didn't have to relocate due to work. They went through three different grade levels during that time and I can say that I was unsure about the teachers and curriculum/facility at the start. Some teachers I found rude, uninterested, and ineffective communicators. However, since those teachers and Principal have left, this daycare has been nothing but great. The new Principal, Ms.Emma, is a wonderful addition to the school as she communicates very well with parents, is warm towards the children and cares about their learning and well-being. My children enjoyed coming to school everyday and learned many new life skills. Miss Lidia is a true gem of the school and my older child loved her. Ms. Ana, Ms. Kathy, Ms. Shannon and Ms. Kumari are also fantastic teachers. The school has a neat app that you are able to message the teachers on and also receive a day report at pickup with pictures and notes. The playground could probably use more shade but it is large with new equipment. I would recommend this daycare to anyone based on curriculum, staff, safety, and communication.

My kids and I absolutely love Chesterbrook Academy. We moved to Herndon a few years ago. My kids (now 4 and 6) experienced a lot of change right when they started at Chesterbrook (pandemic, parents divorcing, new family dynamics, older kid starting kindergarten) and I couldn't be more thankful for the extra love and support that the teachers at Chesterbrook provided. Both of my kids have pretty strong personalities, and while I was the panicking single parent wondering where I went wrong - the staff at Chesterbrook continued to be patient with my kids, and assure me that everything was okay. While the cost is a bit high, it's pretty comparable to other centers in the area and the quality of care you receive is worth every penny. Also, the location is great. If you are looking for a daycare, I highly recommend checking out Chesterbrook. When you walk in for a visit, take a moment to observe how comfortable and happy the kids are. That alone speaks volumes. If you have kids who will be in pre-K soon, you will have the pleasure of having them in Ms. Lidia's class. Lidia is a gem - truly one of a kind. She went above and beyond for my daughter - on her great days, and her really low days. She was my daughter's comfort and safe space - and now when she visits from kindergarten to pick up her little brother, she gets SO excited when she gets to see Ms. Lidia and give her a big hug. Lidia is incredible with her students, and so very patient. Really, truly, one of a kind.

This preschool has been a wonderful experience for my daughter Willow. She never wants to leave school when I pick her up and she is learning so much! All of the staff here are wonderful and caring. I got to know Ursula from Willow's very first class; she is so sweet, attentive and caring of every child in her care. I can't wait to get to know more teachers as Willow grows up here!

My child left this daycare about a year ago, and I wasn't initially going to post a review but after running into a couple of parents who had similar experiences, I decided to leave a review. My child attended Chesterbrook for about a month and a half, during the first two weeks they were happy about attending their first school. However, they quickly started getting really upset on their way to school. My child knew where we were going and ended up even more upset once they saw the teachers.I didn't think anything of it at first and just thought it was separation anxiety. However, one of the teachers admitted to yelling at the children when they try to access the cabinets. Additionally, when we spoke to the director initially, we were told they have no TV time. This was not the case and several times they just had a tablet set to cocomelon to pacify the children.I recently spoke to another parent with similar experiences, to include abnormally short playground times (5 minutes), ignored complaints, and having their questions ignored about why none of the children smiled in the photographs. My child was in the youngest classroom for reference, I don't know if the older classes are better, we didn't stick around to find out.I see a lot of super positive reviews on here and I don't want to discount their experiences, just share mine. My child goes to a new school and their reactions were better.Best of luck to parents out there.

I'm very happy we chose Chesterbrook Academy for our children. My now toddler has been attending since he was 1, and the teachers have been great in all 3 class levels. They care, they communicate, and have an effective curriculum. Our todddler's language skills and knowledge are advanced for his age, and as much as I'd like the credit, I think it's because of school. Our baby is in the infant room, and she is smiles all day, never fussy at drop off and reaches for her teacher. Overall, the teachers and administration are kind and communicative. They have a great app that sends daily reports and photos, and you can also message the teachers directly, it's great! The facility is very nice and clean, and they have a great playground. Highly recommend!

My time working at Chesterbrook was one of the best time periods of my life. I am so blessed to have had the opportunity to teach here for the past three years. I will miss this school, the children, and my mentors/coworkers/principals dearly. I really appreciated how I always felt like part of a small family while here. The staff truly work as a team here and everyone who works here loves children. I can't forget to say a big thank you to the parents as well!

I understand this school provided some parents with good experiences. My experience is limited to the last 6 months, in which Pre-K2 class saw a 2 original teachers leave the week my daughter started . Since than it has been a never ending flow of teachers coming and going totaling of 7-8 teachers resigned from Pre-K2 classroom in just 6 months. Academics effort - nothing to be noted. On the positive note, the school is well maintained and center director and assistant make an effort to run it well.

Our son has been attending Chesterbrook since he was 3 months old. We love the principal. She is so involved with all the children, friendly, attentive and always looking for feedback. He is now in the intermediate class (3yr olds) and his teachers are wonderful. The classrooms are clean, lots of "stations" to choose from, the outdoor playground is great (that's his favorite part) and there are so many weekly activities for the kids to help change things up. The best part is the potty training! They start training them in the 2yr old classroom. It was so much easier at home and the process was quick! We love Chesterbrook :)

Our family loves Chesterbrook! My older son attended for 3 years until kindergarten and he is way ahead because of it. My younger son is in his 2nd year there and we couldn’t be happier. The staff and principal seem to genuinely care about the kids and they are great at communicating. They have spirit days, opportunities for parents to be involved, and great hours for working parents. Highly recommended.
