The service in this Wegmans is abysmal! From them stacking shelves on Saturday mornings (and they don't get out of the way with their carts either), to them charging you for paper bags (without handles no less), to having less and less check-out lanes open, and grumpy service desk employees, it is all bad service. Make no mistake, this is all greed on Wegmans side. With self-checkout they don't have to pay cashiers, except for the one standing around at these lanes doing nothing other than watching customers doing the work for them. As for the bags, does them charging me make the groceries cheaper? No! Apart from the fact that the plastic lined reusable bags are not environmentally friendly. You'd have to use them a thousand times (somebody do the research for the exact number) to ward off the effects of an easy decaying brown paper bag. And they are not hygienic. The Fairfax Wegmans does not charge you, Whole Foods actually pays you, if you bring your own bag. I also find that their produce often is less fresh, and more expensive than even at Whole Foods, like berries for example. I long for the days when Ukrops carried your groceries to your car. That is service!

I love this store! Well to be honest I haven't been to a Wegmans that I didn't love. I drive roughly 22 minutes to get there past many public's, food lions, Walmarts and targets to shop there every week. The store is clean and offers a variety that others stores just do not offer. The staff is very friendly and I've always had quick service. Also the hot food section is amazing and tasty. Obviously I will be back as long as I'm in Virginia.

We walked through this store at first with stars in our eyes. So much to choose from, but mostly pricey. Reminded us of Harris Teeter or Lowes Grocery but on steroids! Picked up some beautiful flowers for our daughter and was intrigued by the salted caramel popped cakes so will give those a try. I could see my budget taking a beating here, but it's nice place to experience and pick up a few items.

I can't actually ever get through to them on the phone, but the review about how they handled an RX for a schedule II controlled substance is disturbing. Many people take these meds because they actually need them, not everyone is a junkie. Because of the shortage, people have to call around various pharmacies to find their med. It is perfectly legal to say, "Yes, we have that in stock." You don't tell them "We have X many tablet," of course...but saying you have that medication is PERFECTLY FINE and needed so that the patient can ask their doctor to order it there. And also, the doctor not being in Henrico??? Having an issue with that is ridiculous. Obviously the pharmacist or whoever they spoke to if judgmental and uneducated on this type of med and the people who take it. I would not feel welcome going to them after reading that.

Oh, how things change and not for the better. It pains me to write this review, as this Wegman's location was always my "go to" for bakery items. In the past, the fresh donuts, muffins, breads, etc., were a treat worth the 30 minute drive. Now: donuts are stale/hard, all varieties we loved are no longer available, the service people behind the counter absolutely do not care about hearing opinions or helping you. So very sad! Won't be making this drive anymore.

This is such a fabulous grocery store. Huge variety of products. Everything looks fresh and clean. It reminds me of supermarkets in Europe. Every time I'm in Charlottesville I visit. Wish there was an equivalent to this in San Diego.

I love Wegmans. It's basically like the Disneyworld of food. You can find anything and everything inside here. Their bakery is fantastic. As are the fresh veggies and fruits and their grab and go items make me never wanna cook again. Today we came because I broke my clay Chiminea this year and needed a new one. My local Wegmans was out of them so we were here for the day visiting family and I called to check on these and here they were! For 50% off! Staff were great going to check when I called before I drove over. Woohoo!

It's Wegmans so it's perfect. This Wegmans is single story layout w an impressive, regal looking pub, more unique to ShortPump, and vastly more seating options than even the duel level cafe seating Wegmans I frequent. Tomorrow is October and I'm loving the gorgeous display of autumn & Halloween items at this Wegmans coffee corner. YES: vegan friendly YES: kid friendly

I don't like writing bad reviews, but this being so egregious I am compelled to write it.I'm Autistic ("Aspergers"), ADHD and Idiopathic Hypersomnia. Falling asleep mid-day is not unusual for me. Hopefully never with my little girls in the car. If I were to drink coffee I'd fall asleep. If I were to drink a coffee with espresso added, I'd fall asleep fast. Long way to say that my doctors know what they're doing, and treatment is required for my own benefit and safety. My doctor in Virginia wants to take a different medication. Luckily it shows up on the GoodRx app at Wegmans. It's a Schedule II medication, but lucky me I can't even abuse a cup of coffee, so it's designed to help people like me.My doc asked me to give a pharmacy a call to make sure they'll order the medication. Sure, no problem.Wegmans is very convenient to my work. The GoodRx price for my medication from Wegmans is $99, whereas the GoodRx price from Kroger nearby is $2,110. I like shopping at Wegmans more than Kroger, so easy decision.I call up Wegmans Pharmacy. I ask if they're able to order a medication. She politely puts me on hold. After a couple minutes I hear the phone picked up, and then I'm hung up on. ...I assume it's just a mistake.I call back, and I'm put on hold faster and for longer, then the Wegmans Pharmacy Manager picks up. I explain I called a few minutes ago about seeing if you'll order this medication if my doctor sends the prescription in.The Pharmacy Manager, Jennifer Hoover, asks when I saw my doctor. Strange question, but I explain I had my most recent appointment this morning, maybe an hour before calling.Jen now wants to know where I saw the doctor. That's nosey, but I didn't say that, I told her I saw my doctor this morning via the webcam. Then I tell her my doctor's name, and she looks up an apparent inaccurate or old address and she says "That office is permanently closed" in what I perceive to be an accusatory tone.Jen the Pharmacy Manager then says she won't fill the prescription "Because your doctor isn't even in Virginia". ....but, my doctor IS in Virginia. She's now fully being untruthful on something easy to verify. This is NOT ok.She then says she'll only fill this prescription from a doctor in Henrico County. This is the first time I've ever heard of this from any pharmacy.I see a specialist who is nationally renowned and doesn't happen to live in Henrico, but that doesn't seem to matter to Jen Hoover, the Pharmacy Manager. My doctor needs to live in the same county now.I ask her to clarify if this is the Wegmans store policy, or her own policy, or is this Virginia law?Jen says: "I'm given discretion and the store encourages that".That's not exactly a straight answer.I ask again, so this is a personal decision or policy?....she talks but does not actually answer it clearly. But then a minute later uses the term "store policy"."So you're saying this is a store policy then?"She again does not answer straight. And I'd really like a firm "Yes this is the store policy for Wegmans" or a "No, this is my personal policy", but she does not answer it. She just talks and talks without answering it firmly and clearly. And she's clearly frustrated on my asking. And I've become frustrated I've never heard of anything like this. I even say "I'm really looking for the simple answer, yes this is store policy, or this is my personal policy". The question will forever remain elusive. Then she asks if my doctor would call her, suggesting she would fill the prescription by saying "Because this isn't a firm policy". I say absolutely and look for my doctor's number, or her office's number."BUT, even if I talk to the doctor, I'm not going to fill your prescription". Wow, what is going on there at Wegmans Pharmacy in Short Pump? Before

Wegmans was a fantastic store when it first opened. The prices were a little higher, but the selection and the quality were beyond compare in the far west end. Since Covid, the very popular little café has shut down, the salad and hot bars are gone, the variety of brands have been replaced with mainly Wegmans brands, which aren't especially good. One thing that is consistent is the staff at Wegmans. Friendly and helpful, quick with a smile. Sadly, this is no longer my go to grocery store for the reasons above. I don't know if Wegmans corporate office understands that within a 2 mile radius, there's eight other grocery stores, so there's lots of options available.
