“I LOVE this shop! They always have cool plants I've never seen anywhere else. Even if you don't know what you're looking for, you'll find something you love. The owners are the kindest most helpful people! You can browse at your own pace and never feel rushed or pressured. They'll give you all the information you need about whichever plant(s) you're wanting to get. From beginners to more "serious" collectors and anyone in-between are welcome and treated like old friends. You have to visit them!”

“Love that this garden is by our house. We had won family membership at an autism auction and I have no regrets. This was perfect for me and my boys to do on any (non-rainy) day. They even have story time on Friday and sat! If anything, we went typically every week and I'm so glad I did. I took this opportunity to get them familiar with the layout and settings before the garden lights event in the winter. This is a great place to get some fresh air and not overly crowded. (I guess it really does depend on when you go. We typically go first thing in the AM.) anyways, but the time the winter lights were up I felt very comfortable letting them slightly roam. If anything, it was not a new place so it didn't overwhelm them. Love everything about this place and themes. We will be renewing our membership! (They do also offer discounts for public service members. Be sure to check it out at the front desk!)”

“I usually frequent the Short Pump location on Broad. I went into the Mechanicsville store planning to spend about 20-30 mins rummaging and leaving, but got help immediately from an associate, Brian (great service!), and ended up staying, talking plants, and grabbed two pothos along with a beautiful bright pink Cordyline Fruticosa, aka, Red Sister. Brian literally helped me pick the perfect plant, and was super patient with my corny jokes ?.Based on this service alone, I will be back for sure. Everyone at the checkout was also friendly as heck, and I never felt rushed. Extra points for Brian helping me to my car, as I'm currently in an arm sling. Great experience, and a stone's throw from my place in Shockoe, which is a plus. Ya'll rock!”

“Very pleased. Had an issue with my card (input error) and called to clarify. Still delivered on time. Very polite and engaging. I’d use them again without a doubt.”

“My fiance bought us a terrarium making class for our anniversary and it was such a fun activity! It was harder than either of us expected (lol). Our class included 4 succulents or cacti. I suggest choosing smaller size plants because it is a tight fit in the terrarium. Also go slow, take your time, and don't be afraid to switch up plant placement before moving forward with decorations. Overall the class was so fun and I loved all the goods they had for purchase including deliciously smelling candles. I highly recommend Plant House!”

“Edit 11/23: spoke with the owner later that day and he insisted that his product was fine, and that I hadn't even given it a chance to grow. Given the other reviews and the fact that I'd never seen topsoil so light in color, I didn't want to risk the next season failing and stood by my complaint. He was obviously frustrated, and I understand that, but he said he would make it right and sent over 4 yards of leaf compost. I've updated my review to reflect my faith in this company for customer satisfaction, and will update to 5 stars if the single bed i plant without the additional compost is successful. The original review is below:I wish I had read the other reviews before I placed my screened topsoil order instead of just trusting the overall reviews. The driver was great and placed it exactly where I'd designated, and initially everything looked good. After the initial day it dried, revealing its true coloring, light grey, indicative of it having little organic matter and nutritive value for plants (I've been gardening and farming for 15 years, so I know what healthy soil should look like). Additionally, after a steady watering a few pools formed and took longer to drain than anticipated, which tells me the clay content is very high, so drainage may be an issue down the line. This really does feel more like fill dirt with a little bit of compost mixed in.I've since called and asked for an additional amount of compost as recompense for the poor quality, and will update this review based on their response. The guy on the phone was friendly and took my information and said the owner will call me back.”

“Sandy’s Plants has an unsurpassed and unbelievable selection of perennials. The entire staff is so welcoming. And Sandy herself won’t hesitate to answer questions and help you find the right plant. I learn something new every time I visit. Agastache and salvia greggii are now part of my vocabulary thanks to Sandy!”

“We visited Stitzer's late in the season this year and we are very glad we found them! The owner (sadly I do not remember his name) was very helpful. We are new to gardening and he helped us select some tomatoes, eggplant, and peppers which are all doing very well so far. We will definitely be back next spring!”

“Cheapest place to get a key made. Unlike the kiosk that costs 10 bucks to ship your key later on, you will leave with your copy right then! Makes much more sense if you ask me.”

“Whenever I need plants or gardening items, I check here first. Their prices are very reasonable and most of the time, their plants are in really good shape. They have a good selection of plants as well as foods and fertilizers. I've gotten so many plants from them that have just flourished! The only downside is that it depends on the staff on duty as to how much they know and are able to help you with the plants. If I want something and they don't have it, I've had employees at this location take the time to help me go to the website and find it, then figure out free shipping. When my mom wanted an item and the website said they had a lot in stock but we only saw the floor model, a few employees went out of their way to go looking in the back in the unpacked delivery. They found a bunch of them and brought them all out to us! Now we have a nice wood cooler for the summer. The staff at this location are very nice, their selection is really good, and they take really good care of the plants. This is my favorite home Depot, locally, and it's not just because it's right across the street from my neighborhood.”

“Eddie and Ethan and the Home Depot staff went above and beyond for me during my recent trip to this store. I came in looking for a specific item and when the shelves were empty I assumed the item was out of stock. Instead of telling me “what you see is what we have”, without hesitation Eddie took it upon himself to check nearly every aisle in the store to look for an extra pallet of the item I needed. Ethan was online checking other nearby stores while Eddie searched the shelves. Through the combined efforts of Eddie, Ethan, and another young man whose name I did not get (you know who you are!), I was able to leave with exactly what I needed! I spoke with a handful of employees in this Home Depot and everyone was so genuinely personable and polite, which you just don’t see too much anymore. Thanks for making my day you guys!! You rock!”

“Tried the online pickup for the first time and I have to compliment Walmart on the usability of the App and the seamless pick up process, not to mention the young man that brought out our order was incredibly friendly and polite.”
