“I really like this goodwill, they are my favorite in Richmond for dresses and shoes. They always have a ton of nice shoes, a lot of which are brand new it would seem. I've never seen it too busy here either, which can be a problem at other Goodwills. It's a medium sized Goodwill in a new-ish building so things are still pretty nice inside facilities-wise. They have a good parking lot too which is always a plus!”

“I can't give McShin enough stars!! They have saved my LIFE, not once, but twice. My family and I are forever grateful to them. Destiny House gave me the opportunity to have my toddler son live with me while I am building my recovery foundation. My life is better today than it has ever been and I wouldn't have any of it without McShin. I was knocking on death's door 5 mo ago and I went through their 30 day intensive program then on to sober living. Now I'm moving home to save up to buy my own home and have the job of my dreams! I'm able to be a great mother, daughter, sister and granddaughter to the ppl I love most. It warms my heart to think of the mom my children have now vs the mom I was before. If you know someone struggling or are struggling yourself, just make a quick call. The phone will be answered by a recovering person and you will absolutely change your life and those around you ?”

“My class just had the most extraordinary opportunity to visit SOARS 365 in Richmond, Va. The leader and supervisor were vey informative and gave a tour. It was one of the best learning opportunities for understanding warehouse work. My students really rolled up their sleeves, and worked hard to box items, and put on a truck, operate a dolly. In addition, this helped to support their knowledge of assembly work.Thank you so much,Ms. Bowers”

“Great place for practicing. Grass tees are always open besides the winter, understandably. Par 3 course let’s you practice most aspects of your game and the chipping and bunker practice area is great. On the driving range I do wish there were yard markers every 50 yards to get a more accurate distance of my shots.”

“One of the best things about Richmond. From the tool share to the earn-a-bike program, the free kid's bikes to the bins on bins of parts to dig through, from their events to the people who make the place actually function, the best and most socially and practically useful operation in the city within it's market (cycling).Wheel Simple would not exist if Rag & Bones did not exist when I needed a home and a workspace to truly stretch out and spread my wings :)”

“Joining this YMCA might be the best decision I've made since moving to Richmond. Super clean, great pool, and everybody is so friendly, staff and members alike. I also love that I can go to any Y with my membership, has come in handy while traveling or even just checking out the other Ys in Richmond.”

“I participated in a volunteer activity at the ToolBank where we (in groups of three) built four picnic tables to be placed in the community. While I'm sure the highly skilled people running the bank could have built the same picnic table in 20 minutes that took us three hours, this was an excellent team building activity and was a lot of fun. I learned a good bit about using different tools and I felt a great sense of accomplishment at the end. They also sell kits to make the picnic tables at your own home, and then place in the community.I had no idea that the ToolBank existed, and will definitely use them for future needs for my nonprofit. I even noticed folding chairs, tables, and coolers. Will definitely use them for any and all event hosting.”

“I've stopped here a few years back when they had vegetable sales and/or a special event (selling food). They showed me their list of programs for helping people in the community and I was very impressed. The building, parking lot and gardens are always in top condition.”

“I only used the swimming pool for an hour the days that I went. I love that there was a lifeguard on duty the whole time and I met some very friendly, nice people there and I was always able to get a lane to swim for my hour. Everyone was so nice and welcoming. The staff could not be more helpful and welcoming as well.”

“This is a truly phenomenal program. The second you walk into the building you know you are in a special place, and it just keeps getting better. Everyone who works and volunteers there is kind and caring. The kids all love it and the content of the curriculum is amazing and really prepares even young kids for school and life. Our son has been there since he was one and has thrived. We are so thankful to be a part of the Friends family.”

“This is coming from a teen who was in the crisis unit- it’s amazing. I’ve been to many crisis stabilization units, and Saint Joseph’s by far is the best. At other crisis units, the staff just act like they’re your doctor, you mostly just sit there and watch tv, and the only thing the staff cares about is your meds. At Saint Joseph’s, is was completely different. I bonded with the staff, along with the other teenagers and children. The children and teens bonded too. The staff truly cares about how your feeling, and how they can help, they truly want what’s best for the kid, and they are the nicest most understanding people. Saint Joseph’s crisis unit actually helped me, unlike other crisis units. I highly recommend this to a teenager in need of mental health help. These people are a blessing!”

“We adopted our sweet boy from Richmond SPCA. It was a wonderful experience and the staff and counselors were so helpful throughout the process. If we decide to adopt again we will be using Richmond SPCA. The animals are well taken care of. They make sure your new family member is up to date on shots and the vet examined before they are adopted. The visiting areas are clean and the animals are happy. Filling out the adoption questionnaire online before you come in is helpful.”

“Purchased a dishwasher, new in box for a third of cost. They have used everything too. Doors, cabinets etc and all kinds of household items and appliances. Tools, paint, flooring. But if you see it buy it! Too great a price to hold out. Never know what you might find.”

“I tried the 10th Street Y last week because my usual gym (downtown) was closed for renovations, and I was so excited to see how great this little spot is. Small but has all the things you need, and very clean/updated. This location is actually closer to my house so I look forward to returning here in the future. The only hard part was finding parking and making it from parking to the gym -- could use more signage.”
