5371 Merchants View Sq, Haymarket“This is a very professional veterinary and Pet Care Center. We have used them for our fairly large dog. They are top drawer professionals. Who love animals little pricey? Perhaps, but they will make you feel confident.”
“Dr. Brown and her staff have been our Veterinary for over 15 years. We always receive the BEST care with the BEST service and advice. All the staff always know and talk to our pets making us always feel like one big family!”
“The staff provided exceptional assistance, addressing all inquiries with expertise. They were aware of my heightened apprehension regarding my baby boy Max undergoing anesthesia, given his age and heart condition. The most crucial outcome is that Max is now safely back home and recovering well. You provided exceptional care and my Max is back home with me.”

24650 Southpoint Dr, Chantilly“This review is long overdue, we’ve taken our 3 dogs (2 English Labs and 1 XL American Bully) to Dr. Chau at Family Vet ever since she opened her practice in 2008.
Staff there has always been top notch and Dr. Chau explains all options for our dogs. Over the years one dog had seizure so bad they had to remove his inner ears and Dr. Chau had the perfect balance for his medication to keep his seizures under control but not too much meds. Another dog had his ACL replaced through a surgeon that Dr. Chau set up to have done at her location. The one lab lived until he turned 15 and towards the end of his life Dr. Chau had him on different treatments ie underwater treadmill, laser, and Acupuncture for his hips. Until his death at 15 years old he got around great for a 90lbs lab. All three dogs were very different and Dr. Chau always took the approach specific to the dog and not, “one size fits all” approach. I wish our family doctor had bedside manners like Dr. Chau. Although we live close, if we had to travel to see Dr. Chau for our XL American Bully we would without even thinking about it.
I attached pics of our Lab that lived until 15 years old, in the 1 picture he was 13 years old running through the snow, the other picture he was with Dr. Chau when he was almost 15. The other pictures are of our tri color XL American Bully and he’s almost 4 years old. One pic he’s with his brother from the same litter who also goes to Family Vet and another is of him waiting for Dr. Chau … he looks forward to her treats :)”

5296 Lee Hwy, Warrenton“I got a 6-week old baby Kitten 3 days ago and called in on Monday, got a same day appointment, and got my Kitten all squared away. Entire staff was friendly, professional and loving as can be with my Kitten. I am happy I found them. Best vet hands down.”

12733 Braemar Village Pz, Bristow“We've been taking our dog to Caring Hands Bristow for four years and they are wonderful. They are knowledgeable and thorough with both acute and chronic issues and always take great care of our Liberty.”
“Exceptional staff, warm and friendly to humans and animals alike. We've had dogs since 1986, and several vets over the years. Ohana is by leaps and bounds(pun intended!) the best one--the others don't even compare!”
“I recently had to let my beloved shih tzu Bubba cross that rainbow bridge. The care and kindness expressed by Dr. Kelly went above and beyond and brought us peace during this most difficult time. The staff was also exceptional.”
“This place is amazing. They are compassionate and understanding. We couldn't ask for better people. They try to explain everything and make sure you understand the recommended care plan.”
“We recently visited this vet when our farm veterinarian was undergoing surgery. Whilst we love our veterinarian team; this practice is an 'admirable-second'. Knowledgeable, aware of natural behavior in extra-large working-dog breeds, competent, not afraid to examine and engage with large dogs, replete with compassion, kindness and particular respect and flexibility for dogs that do not enjoy going indoors, particularly not inside veterinary offices! NAMASTE! GRATITUDE!”
“I and my husband have been a client of Dr. Swanson for at least 30 years. My husband passed away in 2015 and I have lived alone with the 3 dachshund dogs we bought when they were 8 weeks old.
We began bringing our dachshund’s to you when your office was across from Jimmy Phillips. Remember the lady who bought the cat in she found on the side of the road. It was injured and very sick looking. You were sooooooooooooooo
Mad ? saying why do all these people bring these road animals in…”Who’s going to pay for the work I have to do”
One dog passed about 3 years ago due to kidney failure and I still enjoy the company of the 2 females.
They are about 12 years old and recently they became ill with a “coughing wheezing” sound and have trouble breathing. Overnight they turned from active happy dogs into barely eating or moving around.
Now on a very limited income I called Dr. Swanson and asked if he would do a health check on my
dogs but I could not afford to pay for it.
He refused and I understand that. He wants to be paid for the service he renders.
A 30 year client may have been offered a payment option from someone with a heart ❤️ .
I could not have been more disappointed.
I’ve always felt you had a cold heart ❤️ BUT NOW I KNOW!!!!!”
“I have been bringing my dog to see Dr. Kunze for his enlarged prostate. The treatment has been a success so far. I'm very impressed by Dr. Kunze and her knowledge and care. Kudos to the clinic staff, as everyone is friendly, and very helpful. I would recommend Companion Animal Clinic of Gainesville to everyone.”
“I was able to drop off my kitty since she is so difficult to get into her carrier So I wouldn’t have to wait for the next available time for the doctor to see her. Dr called me to tell me what was going on and options for treatment. I greatly appreciate Dr. Woodworth!”

7152 Farm Station Rd, Warrenton“This is a great place for very care, and they have the highest quality food for your pet. I've been taking my dogs to see Carol since 2005. I prefer the care she provides over the standard vet offices that don't even get to know your pet. Great place and friendly staff!!”
“I love this practice. All of the vets are caring, knowledgable and very personable. They explain things in layman's terms so you understand what is going on with your pet. I wouldn't go anyplace else for our vet services unless referred to a specialist by one of the docs. They know the best places to send your animal to get speciality care. Their front desk is also super and very friendly. Their techs are the best and are also very caring of your animal. You can't miss with this practice. They are the best.”
“Dr.Vanama and her staff are highly educated, attentive, caring, and professional. I have personally taken my cats and dogs to her facility for over 5 years now and have never been dissatisfied and I have felt that my animals were always getting the care they deserved.”
“I wanted to update my review as we recently lost a pet with DSVC. Losing an animal is never easy, but in my opinion the level of care given during that time from a vet office says a lot about the practice. For background, our cat Toby was a rescue that we had the absolute joy and honor of loving for 5 years. When we adopted Toby, he came with no vet records and we had no idea of any health issues (haha, we were in for a rollercoaster ride!). During our time with Toby, he saw DSVC, an ophthalmologist, a neurologist, and lastly an internal medicine vet for small cell lymphoma. All of this is to say that DSVC as a team caught Toby's numerous health conditions over the years and treated what they could, and referred him out for what they could not treat. They called specialists on my behalf to get answers to questions they didn't have the answers for, and to get him in with specialists sooner if needed. Over the years, Toby had almost every procedure possible with DSVC and even stayed with DSVC when they offered hospital and boarding services pre-COVID. Our 5 wonderful years with Toby were only possible because DSVC quite literally saved his life twice and gave him the care he needed and deserved during his lifetime with us. At DSVC, we saw many wonderful techs and doctors over the years (some of which are no longer with the practice) including Dr. Hood, Dr. Luce, Dr. Plummer, Dr. Pattie, Dr. Fernandes, and most recently, Dr. Woodworth and Dr. Blevins. We received, in my opinion, the best veterinary care we could have, with true love and care from DSVC for Toby. Toby unfortunately lost his cancer battle unexpectedly right before Christmas. He was fit in for an appointment with Dr. Blevins and we got the call that she was keeping him warm but he was declining and we needed to come say our goodbyes. It was absolutely heart wrenching, but Dr. Blevins (and our tech, KatieRose - SHE IS A ROCK STAR! Laura is also a rock-star tech that often works with us) were beyond understanding, professional, and friendly (I know there is a better word, but I am tearing up as I write this and cannot think of something other than friendly) through our sobbing and goodbyes. DSVC gave us as much time as we needed with Toby, and Dr. Blevins let us hold him while he went to sleep. We were encouraged to bring our other cat and dog (who also have all of their care through DSVC) and I felt that Toby was able to say goodbye with such dignity and love, I just don't have the words to describe it. DSVC was able to coordinate Toby's cremation (we chose private / single cremation with return of his ashes in an urn) with Agape Pet Services, and included in the cost were mementos. A lot of the reviews that I've read talk about availability and cost. We have been seeing DSVC for over 10 years. Although their availability has fluctuated over the years, they will always get your pet in if it is a true emergency, or they will tell you which Vet ER is best to go to. I understand frustration with limited availability, but like any other business right now, staffing shortages are happening. As far as cost goes, I haven't shopped around for pricing because of the level of love and care they provide my animals. Yes, prices have also fluctuated over the years, but that is the same anywhere. I would rather pay what I do to DSVC to have consistent care and know that my pets are cared for as if they were their own. I know that not everyone has had the experiences I have with DSVC, but I wouldn't think of going elsewhere. Finally, Laurel does grooming for our pets at DSVC. SHE IS THE ABSOLUTE BEST and we won't go anywhere else!”

14760 Lee Hwy, Gainesville“Dr. Dove and his staff will take good care of you and your dog. He's the premiere dog obstetrician in Virginia, so if you're a breeder, he's your guy. But honestly, he's a goodhearted dog lover who will do what's best for your pup.”
“Today was my first time at a Banfield. I actually switched Vets, due to my old one tripling the price of insurance for ONE DOG ?. The team at the Manassas location provided excellent customer service, and made sure that my dogs and I felt at home. They were all very informative! I also spoke to Wanda over the phone before coming in, and she was AMAZING! Unfortunately, the wait time was pretty long. It was about 40 minutes before a veterinary assistant was able to come in the room to get us started. At my old vet, I was out the door within 30 minutes. In my opinion, that would probably be the only downside, but I understand things happen and it can get hectic sometimes.”
“Updated on 6/11/2024:
After receiving a response on this review, I emailed them my concerns & within a few days had a call back from this location to which they scheduled me to being Daisy in for her missing bordetella vaccine, the Docter was extremely nice & the appointment went smoothly. Any other visit Ive had with them has gone smoothly. I do appreciate that they listened to my concern & made sure that they made it right. Thank you so much to the team!
I have used Banfield for years. And we moved to Gainesville area about a year ago & they have always been good for the most part. I knew my puppy plan was expiring & I had not renewed because I fostered another pup for a year & had him on this plan, since he found a forever home a few months back, I continued paying until I knew it was expiring, called banfield to ask what to do in order for it not to renew & I did as I was told, then I had to make an appointment for my actual pup Daisy, and she is due for bordetella vaccine so I called WEEKS ahead of time, explained very specifically that I needed to get her in BEFORE the plan expired & they made my appointment for weeks out. That should’ve been my first red flag was that it took weeks to get her appointment scheduled. I come in today June 6th 2024 for her drop off appointment and I’m glad that I asked before I even left about her plan and the receptionist told me that the plan expired YESTERDAY. I explained to her that I specifically made this appointment and I wanted to be before her plan expired because I’m going through a moving situation right now where I just don’t have the out-of-pocket expense at the moment. She did ask the manager what they could do for me since it wasn’t my mistake, but all they were willing to do was waive the cost of visit & I would still have to pay out-of-pocket for the vaccines. This was not my mistake, I was off yesterday. I could’ve very well come in yesterday or even sooner, but I did what I was scheduled to do even after a specifically explaining that I needed to get this done before my plan expired. This is Completely unacceptable, as a manager of a Dog daycare myself, I am not Inexperienced when it comes to vaccines, There’s a reason I called ahead and planned ahead for this visit. My Financial situations is a little tough at the moment and that’s completely completely on me but again this is why A.) I pay for a plan to begin with B.) I planned ahead, I paid my entire plan over the course of 12 months & never missed a payment & I had the full intecion of using what I paid for. Which was the visit & vaccines, I was never late and even after explaining this to the person that scheduled my appointment, they scheduled me a day after my plan expired? That almost seems like it was on purpose. Was that person even listening to me? Did they just make an appointment to get me out of their way? Now my dog has an expired vaccine until I can figure out whether its worth it to go back to them or not. I love having the plan because it honestly alleviates a lot of financial burden throughout the year, especially when it comes to vaccines or just visits, but it seems unfair that I as a Customer who have made all payments year round, never had any issues have to go through this. Completely Unprofessional on behalf of the person who scheduled my appointment. I am not faulting the person I spoke to today because she was nothing but nice and I know she couldn’t do anything that her manager wouldn’t allow her to do. But it Seems unfair that I paid for a service & was not able to get full use out of it because of the negligence of one employee. Id give an update but I highly doubt there will be one.”
“Dr. Gillespie and his staff were wonderful in taking care of our baby (Toby-cat). I was not going back if the prior DVM was still there. It was wonderful working with the new medical director. Everyone was kind, efficient and competent. They are a fantastic local veterinary service.”
