“As a former member, it was great to see the folks from Evergreen resurrect the old manor house from the ashes so to speak.

The new ownership spared no expense and returning Manor House it all its glory.

Food at the country club was lacking however, outside of breakfast I would simply select other options when I make my return trip.”

“Great place for kids to learn how to ice-skate, or spend quality time with the family during the free-skate times, with live music. It gets cold for the bystanders, so bundle up. Seating is limited to single benches along the side wall of the rink. Staff is friendly, and the instructors encourage and provide positive feedback to the kids; hence, we keep coming back. Does get busy on the weekends with ice hockey practices, doors keep opening and slamming shut to get to the other rink.”

“We just had our twin daughter’s 5 year old birthday party here and it was AMAZING! The hosts took care of everything. They were great with the kids and kept them entertained. I would highly recommend a birthday party here! My girls ended the day saying it was the best birthday ever!”

“The grounds are amazing with places to hang out with friends that have overhead heaters and fire pits. They have ax throwing and corn hole and tons of space to bring some fun games with you. The staff was very friendly too.”

“What a wonderful venue , we celebrated our son and his wife’s recent wedding there. The owner (Helen) is extremely accommodating and helpful and responds quickly. The barn is large with a deck, kitchenette, separate room for serving food, sound system, and much more. She also has tables and chairs so you don’t have to rent any, which is a huge plus. Almost anything you could need Helen already has on site. The grounds are large and outdoor deck is wrapped around with multiple seating options and a fire pit. We thank Helen very much for making our event so special.”

“HIDDEN GEM!!!!! I LOVE THIS PLACE!!!! The owners are such nice, friendly, beautiful people. I found this place 2022 and had a wonderful experience. Visited again about 2 weeks ago and had a better experience! We almost decided not to go because it seemed like it was going to rain but I am glad we still went. We got the whole place to ourselves for a while before another visitor joined us. We got see a 2 goats that had just been born. It was a wonderful experience and highly recommended it to everyone with or without kids.”

“This was the ideal Easter egg hunt! TONS of eggs hidden among the trees, a grand prize golden egg, and a visit from the real Easter Bunny. It was such an enjoyable day at Ticonderoga… the bamboo maze was magical and endless slides to enjoy over and over! Kids loved it and I had a great time exploring the property and going down the slides myself! We’ll be back again soon!”

“So for a holiday inn def not up to the standards I would expect in the room! employees where A++ but once u get to ur room you are left with alout to be desired. Hotel is in need of a major remodel. Besides the room everything else was amazing hope you guys get the much need remodel soon!”

“Such a great hotel. The rooms are newly renovated and the employees are super helpful and kind. One employee who helped me was JJ. I called in with a couple questions about the hotel and the reservation and she was super kind and helpful. She was super patient when I was asking a bunch of questions, you can definitely tell she cares. The room was extremely clean and the cupboard is pricey but convenient and has everything you could think of!”

“The Black Horse Inn is one of the most beautiful B&B's I've visited and it's a gorgeous wedding venue for the bride to be who wants a classic, romantic wedding tucked in the Virginia country. The staff was top notch and everything flowed smoothly on my bride's wedding day. The sunroom is the perfect spot for bridal portraits, sunset light was gorgeous on the rolling hills and the reception space was spacious and gorgeous- the perfect place for any wedding. Definitely one of my favorite wedding venues I've visited as a Virginia wedding photographer! Highly recommend Black Horse Inn for weddings and just to stay :)”

“Update — just came back again after a very long time only because my kids were asking so many times to come here. Came to find out all staff had changed, new staff are all very helpful and super friendly! The manager was also very kind. They gave us the socks which we never received before. They treated us very well. I am very happy to see the positive changes here. We bought the 10 pass package. Would live to come here often now since it’s my kids’ favorite playground.Rude staff, the staff treated us like we are the prisoners, when I left my kids to my husband inside and tried to run for an errand, the staff interrogated me asking who is watching the kids and where my husband is. The staff could’ve asked nicely and I would’ve answered nicely and would’ve understood why they question, but the way the staff questioned me like I was being interrogated like I was trying to escape from prison lol. When I came back and my husband wanted to leave for awhile, the staff did not allow my husband to leave even tho he told the staff that I was watching the kids. When he came back the staff threatened my husband that they would call the police lmao, for what?! And they did not let my husband to get back in until I stepped in their arguments. I felt like we were in prison or something, hack of an experience. I was very angry and frustrated, I hated that my kids had to witness the arguments between us and the staff. It was supposed to be a happy experience for my kids. My kids love playing there that’s the only reason I gave 2 stars, I would give 0 star otherwise. This is the second time we were not happy about the way the staff treated us there.”
