The front office was one of the most ineffectual office experiences I have had. When I finally decided to cancel my membership, it took me two weeks, 5 calls, and a round of incorrect information to finally be sent the form to cancel (which you cannot get unless they send it to you). In the meantime, my account was charged for an additional month and I was informed my account will be charged yet again for a second month. While the terms of the membership do have a 30-day lead time with one additional charge, they charged for another month- because their back office did not answer calls, provided incorrect information, and delayed cancellation by two weeks.
While I found a provider for facials that was pretty good, every other facial I had was poorly done and the one massage I had was also poor with the provider smelling very very strongly of cigarette smoke. Definitely do not recommend if you want high quality service and a competent front office.

I had a facial and a 90 minutes massage afterwards today. It was scheduled after a few back and forth with the front desk staff over a week ago which I fell for and accepted the introductory offer. The facial was done professionally which I appreciate the therapist. Oh boy the massage was not what I hoped for. The therapist was an old lady who smelled like cigarettes and had rough hands. There was no pressure applied which I would not expect from her age but the strange part is that she left me all oiled up and when I asked her if she could wipe it off, she replied that she would leave a towel on the table for me to do it myself. I was shocked but I said nothing to her. I had to use the towel to wipe the oil off of all my body. I asked the front desk if this is like a rule or something to not wipe off the oil off of clients body she (Jennifer) said that she started 2 weeks ago and not sure about it. I have had massage in the past but not here at Hand & Stone of Haymarket. I have never had an experience like this to be left all oiled up and do the cleaning myself. I don’t think I would ever return to this place and the money I paid for the massage was wasted. Very disappointed

Took my time filling out questions re what products I use, problems, etc. When I went for my facial, Rosie was not told or did not check all my info. Was very confused on what products I used. Was given a gift cert. in the amount of $179.95...very strange my bill was $179.95. Never felt I was truly informed about what service I was getting. Maybe I should have asked? Not my first facial, but was the first with Hand & Stone.

What a great birthday surprise! My husband scheduled a couples massage for us today. The experience was amazing! The ladies at the front desk were kind and very helpful. Our massage therapists were wonderful as well. My therapist was very communicative before and throughout the massage. He asked what I wanted from the massage and confirmed what pressure I liked. My husband enjoyed his massage so much he fell asleep for a brief moment! I highly recommend this Hand & Stone location to anyone looking for a relaxing and friendly experience.

Last week my massage therapist name is “Bailey” experience was pleasant. I really like the hot stones that adds to our seasonal November weather. He is transparent with his willingness to let me know he’s training and actual experience was about 1 year. And yet my body didn’t sense this at all. Even though mind was a Swedish masssge for relaxation. When I made a request for more time and pressure in certain muscle groups he was able to respond as asked. I also appreciate his demeanor, and was able to change pressure upon my request. And he’s able share a moments of humor was welcomed. My only regret is I wished I’d tip him more!

The worst ever message. I got a gift card from my work and the booking takes one month. Today the message is so weak, it felt like my 3 year old daughter touching me. The message therapist was an old lady no strength to perform. It was a joke and very disappointed.

When having my facial done, Alyssa did an incredible job. She seemed very knowledgeable on how to keep your face healthy. She was able to give me advice on how to clear up the blackheads around my nose and the bumps across my forehead. Will most definitely schedule another appt with her in the near future.

Impossible to get an appointment or a phone call returned. Showed up for my appointment made 3 months ago - because there was no earlier availability and no one was there...the receptionist finally came to the front saying - I didn't know anyone was here. There were others also waiting to check in. No one was helped or received service for their scheduled appointment. Worst experience with any business I've had in a long time. I had also tried to get appointments at 2 other Hand & Stone locations with the same results - no availability, no returned call after leaving a message, no one answers the phone. I wish I was never given a gift card to Hand & Stone...
