Terrible nurses, long waits and bad attitudes from everyone. These people do not care about you or your wellbeing. The nurses have no empathy or communication skills whatsoever..I beg you not to come here.

BEWARE!! Please, go anyway BUT this hospital! Me and my sibling went to OrthoVirginia 3 times for our scoliosis. First time, we went back and our doctor, Dr. Highphil, came int with two other nurses and the didn't do much but stand in the room and take up space. He made us extremely uncomfortable, since we are teens and kept asking us about our personal lives in a weird way. We had to go back downstairs to do an X-Ray and we waited about 30 minutes to take an X-Ray. Second time, we went to the same room and this time, when he came into the room with the same two useless nurses, we asked him about bracing, since we heard it's good to stop our spines from getting worse. He told us that we can't brace until 40% curvature. I have a 21% curvature and my sibling has a 18% curvature. Remember this. When we went the third time, it was horrible in the same way. We called the National Scoliosis Center and told them our doctor's name. They even told us that he was the WORST DOCTOR and that also we could get our bracing as soon as 15% curvature. Do NOT go to UVA Health EVER! Take care and stay away from here.

I am so frustrated with my experience at UVA. I have been going back and for with billing for almost a year now and instead of them doing their job, they’re just forcing me to do it. At first they communicated they never received the auto insurance’s information, despite mailing, faxing, and emailing the information. Now they’re saying that USAA was unresponsive, so it’s my responsibility. I work in the healthcare industry and we never bill patients just because the insurance is unresponsive. I don’t penalize patients because my employees have to work harder to get a claim paid. I think it’s ridiculous to expect patients that aren’t trained in medical billing to work claims themselves. Don’t come to this hospital if you get into an auto accident because they’re just going to make it your responsibility.

I looked at the reviews and was very wary of my experience. However, I was met with very kind nurses and doctors who listened and paid attention to my needs and my issues. It was one of the best ER visits I’ve ever had and the nurses made sure I was comfortable and explained the steps of what they were doing very well and I truly felt like I was in good hands. I only spent 4.5 hours to include waiting results for blood tests and a CT scan and they were able to diagnose my issue and provide a follow up measure to ensure that I get taken care of. Overall, would definitely pick this over the Prince William UVA ER.

This place is not going to ever be my first choice kn healthcare as they seems to have short staffing everywhere and it looks like it is a learning school as well which delays a lot of things in process. My cousin stayed here when she had her appendix burst and it takes almost 30 minutes to get a nurse every time we randomly them. We asked for the catherer to be taken out so we could help her to the bathroom ourselves and it took the nurse to times of coming in to remember we wanted it out and that my cousin needed to go to the restroom. The nurse was so distracted but putting in more IV she completely forgot the patient needed to go to the bathroom even after we asked a couple of times. The plus is is that the room is big for one patient so it gives us a lot of room for family visits as we have a lot of family members!

If I could give this freaking hospital less than 1-star I would. This hospital SUCKS, almost five hours, and my son still hasn't been seen. Then when I asked when they would take him back, they decided to place him in the hallway after knowing he had been throwing up and feeling like crap, and YES, there are rooms available! I am pissed..no. No nurse has seen him, no doctor, NOTHING! TRUST ME, you are better off going to Patient First than coming here. These people are a joke.

The hospital is clean and the staff was very nice. I’ve come in before for various reasons and while there are some lapses in communication, the care has been usually been good.Today we had to come in due to severe post-op pain and concerns of complications. They saw him fairly quickly and the testing and results were prompt for an ER. BUT Being that pain was the primary reason for coming in, it is SUPER frustrating that they forgot to send in the prescription for the pain medication. With pharmacies being backed up, it’s now been seven hours since being seen and we haven’t gotten any meds yet. They didn’t send us home with any information about the new prescription, so we don’t know how much we’re getting or when it needs to be administered. What we do know is that the shot they’ve given has worn off, and we are still without any medication, and my family member is now inching closer to ER-level pain again. Normally, small slip ups are not a big deal. But to see the pain they’re in today, and to not prioritize getting ahead of it again, is negligent.I shouldn’t have had to call the hospital from our pharmacy because they said an Rx was never sent in. And then wait for hours as it’s filled while they’re writhing in pain. To say I’m upset is an understatement.

Hands down the best experience I've had in a medical building. The waiting room was almost empty. The receptionist was very friendly and helpful. I only waited for a few minutes before being brought back to a room. The nurses answered all my questions and were pleasant. The doctor and nurses listened to my issues. I had an ekg, blood work, a chest xray, and spoke to the doctor with 30-45 minutes of walking in the front door. After terrible experiences at another local hospital, I cannot recommend UVA Haymarket enough. I will gladly drive a little further to get this level of care.

Please do Not take your child to that emergency room! My son had strep throat and they gave him penicillin shot in the thigh. Leg got swollen within minutes. He had horrible allergic reaction to the shot, on the next day he couldn't walk, eat or drink got headache, tummy aches, leg looked like it was broken. He was vomiting bright yellow stuff overnight. Looked very pale and dehydrated. We rushed to INOVA children's hospital two days after the shot. He looked like skeleton with blue pale skin..Thank God the doctors there saved him. Please don't take that chance because it's closer, don't make my mistake that almost cost me my child life.

ER was a terrible. My daughter broke her arm at a horse show. It was clearly broken on arrival at ER. Although, we got admitted into ER right away, we sat in a room waiting for almost 2 hours, before being seen. I'm guessing this gets them better average wait time stats. Although, we were there a total of 4 hours, we never saw a doctor. Not kidding. PA on call was terrible; no people skills. And, the xray tech was worse - completely incompetent and rude. We had to get all xrays done again. My daughter wasn't given any pain meds for an hour. An hour is a long time when your arm is bent. The orthopedic don call decided he didn't need to come in (must have been golfing), but he did tell PA over phone that my daughter might need an operation, scaring the bejesus out of us and not remotely true. They had one shining start. The guy who wrapped my daughter's arm before we left was fantastic. He was helpful and kind. You could tell he didn't like anyone else he worked with. Also, they sent us home with someone else's xrays. So much for HIPPA.

I went to the emergency room twice in pain and blood. At the end of the long waiting, no intervention was made except for blood, urinalysis and ultrasound. They told me I could go to home while I was bleeding. As a result, when I returned home, I lost my baby. This really is a great place to die.
