I’ll start by saying it’s in a beautiful location and the rooms are above average. However, the service was the worst i’ve experienced at any hotel i’ve been to. The lady at the front desk was an older white lady with dark blonde hair who made comments and complained about doing her job she would get mad when asked for anything even if it was just about where something was. And would talk to you as if you had no brain in your head.Noteworthy details: Terrible service

Rooms were nice and clean. Called the front desk about ac not being on couldnt change it. She explained how it works, so we give it a shot, and ac surely didn't and wouldn't come on by morning time it was 78 in the room. Told the guy working the next morning while eating breakfast was not too interested it seemed. We drove 1100 miles that day and was in no mood to fight or get a run around about it. Would not recommend the hotel and will not stay here again.

Our family were traveling through for the holidays and we were beyond satisfied. The staff members were very accommodating, the rooms were clean, and the fitness center was sufficient. The lady coordinating breakfast named Elyza (sp?) was the most hard working individual we have run across in years and she truly makes your experience worth it. She deserves all the recognition and praise. Thank you for what you Elyza.

Rooms are super small, the fridge is pointless small you can't even fit a Togo container in it not that would be a wise idea since there isn't a microwave in any room. And lord forbid you have to stay and extra day and have pets with you because you will get charged a pet deposit EVERYDAY! This was not my choice to stay due to breakdown and company making reservations for the room. The GM also has the personality of a rock. She lost her smile and exuded annoyance that she was even to be at the front desk with a trainee.Rooms: The room small and bare.

When I check-in 24 hours early in order to have the comfort I want, that is my benefits of being a member and staying at Hilton's quite often. With that being said, the afternoon of driving to Harrisonburg I noticed that my digital room key was delivered to me. It however was not the room that I chose. So, I decided to investigate it more. Turns out, their 4th floor is reserved for "only diamond and corporate members" and " that is their policy".. Wait, policy per what? It is not written anywhere, it is not in fine print for me to acknowledge. Infact, when choosing a room, I chose the room I wanted on the 4th floor with no problems at all. Then on the day of, apparently the GM goes through the check-ins and cherry picks who can stay in what room and just kicks people out of their rooms because those other members are "more important than I am as "just a silver member"" WHAT?? No courtesy text, no courtesy phone call, no courtesy email. Basically, just a big F you, you will go wherever we put you. I am so sorry that I don't have a corporate account that some corporation pays for rooms. I bust my butt doing overtime in an emergency room in order to pay for these trips for my kids with my own money and by the way, how about you put your policy in writing so that it is not discrimination; Because that is what this is.We arrived around 10 or a little after, and when we walked in the door, the lazy front desk lady didn't even bother to look up. She didn't greet us, she did smile, she didn't even bother to get up from her position of laziness to look us in the eye. Then we came down to our vehicle to get some more of our luggage and again, didn't even acknowledge that we were there when we walked in again. We got to our floor and when we were walking down the hallway, we noticed it smelled like dog pee or some kind of gross moldy smell. It was bad enough that my daughter could smell it and she has a stuffy nose. So that is definitely bad. Also, upon inspecting my room, I found BOOGERS, YES BOOGERS, on the wall!! With a hair in them and all. WTActualF??The room itself wasn't bad. It was not the room I chose with more space, because I literally hit the bed frame with my knee in that small space; but I was exhausted, and the next day was a big day for my daughter. It is also her birthday, so I didn't want to stress her out even more. So, we finally get to sleep around midnight... That is also when the other nightmares began! IT IS SOOOOOOO LOUD next to that main road. MISERABLY AND PAINFULLY LOUD. I take sleeping meds to knock me out and it woke me up over and over and over again. Every time someone braked to hard, honks, trucks, etc. The actual building itself has HORRIBLE insulation and walls. I could hear every toilet flush, every movement. I was so uncomfortable with the flattest pillows on earth, I literally cried when my alarm went off the next morning. Now, let's talk about this morning. We set our alarms for 845-9am knowing it is the weekend and all of the Hilton properties we have stayed at have breakfast until at least 10am. Well, we walk down at 920 to see a sign, that WAS NOT THERE the night before that breakfast is from M-F 6a-9a and Sat-Sun 6a-9a... So why is this not put out the night before or told to anyone? We are used to M-F 6a-9a and Sat-Sun 7a-10a.. NOT THIS PLACE!! I was soooooo beyond annoyed. Not to mention when we woke up this morning the hotel smelled like SEWAGE!! This place is so gross, and I am mortified that we had to endure this. So, we go back upstairs, and I have my daughter get quickly packed up so that we can go grad a now NOT FREE breakfast before her event. We get our stuff together and head out to our vehicle. Now there is another employee at the front desk, and he doesn't say a word to us. No thank you for staying with us, no NOTHING. What is wrong with this place. The front doors were also blocked by luggage carts, and he just stood there looking at them.(UPDATE: the person standing at the front desk thi

I made a reservation 9/28 for 10/12. I had to cancel on 10/11. I had prepaid, so I was due a refund. This hotel has not released my credit to my credit card in a month!! Every time I call to speak to Rita Patel to get my refund, the front desk picks up the phone and hangs up!! I was told to ask for Rita Patel by a 1800 HILTON representative. Very disappointed in Hilton!!

First time staying at a Tru by Hilton. Loved it! Very modern feel. They had a pool table and tv in the lobby area. Rooms were clean. The shower was the best shower I’ve ever taken. The shower pressure was just amazing. I think I took 3 showers in 24hours, it was so good. The breakfast was mediocre. I loved the new touch less pancake maker though. Overall great place and look forward to staying at one again.

Read the reviews before I arrived and was a little skeptical. Upon arrival, I was impressed. Very clean and good staff. My room was immaculate and the bathroom was spotless. The only thing that seemed off was the sketchy Windham motel next door that definitely had some undesirable people wandering around. The bad motel next door had no impact on my feeling of security of my stay as I still felt very safe and had a great night sleep.Rooms: Very clean

We arrived much later than we planned but the front desk staff was still pleasant and helpful. Parking was odd but manageable. Our room was clean and comfortable. The bathroom was great.

TRUly a disappointment! I wished I would have read the reviews better before booking. When traveling, we really depend on high reviews from Google to help us decide where to eat and stay. We’ve been in hotels all across America and have stayed in a couple other Trus, but this was definitely a horrible experience! If you’d love to pay hundreds of dollars or waste your points on NOT getting a good night’s sleep, then this place is definitely for you!The walls ARE paper thin (again, read other reviews) and all night we were awakened by either the guy next door coughing, a dog barking, doors slamming, etc. You could literally hear the conversation of the people on both sides of us. The ceiling is also not well-insulated. All night and all morning, someone with cowboy boots or something was pacing back and forth, back and forth—what an awful sleepless experience! Why are they putting non-pet owners on the same floor as pet-owners?? It wasn’t even that busy here, so why are they stacking people right up against each other so you can hear someone else snoring in another room?? This place is NOT worth the money—you pay for a good night’s sleep while away from home and all you get for your money is jolted out of a deep sleep countless times. We will never be back. Not to mention, the insanely LOUD traffic on the freeway. Bring earplugs!

I'm truly disappointed. Stayed at a few Tru Hotel locations, but this one was horrible. Worst customer service experience I've ever encountered at a hotel from the 12am staff. Upon our arrival yesterday around 8pm, we learned that the toilet doesn't work and it overflows. We notified the front desk staff at 8 pm and later at 12 am. At 12am we requested a different room. The 12am night staff offered us a plunger to use and refused to switch us or move us to a different room. Mind you, the hotel had plenty of rooms available. She also refused to call the manager, and she refused to offer a solution and hung up the phone on us. I called the hotel to speak to a manager in the morning at 9am and 11am and left a note with our grievance. I have yet to get a call back. We wanted to extend our stay. However, due to this matter , we will not stay here another night. I would've been fine with switching rooms while they fix the plumbing issue in thatfixedom. ?I wish I had read the reviews.

Very noisy hotel. The walls are paper thin. After traveling a long day you look for a good strong cup of Lavazza coffee they don’t even use Lavazza coffee, they use their dispensers but They use some other brand. The breakfast spread was very minimal. You can tell they’re trying to cut down on their overhead costs. This TRU was a true disappointment.

Only good remarks is Good location, very close to JMU. Too expensive for family weekend for a budget hotel. Room was clean furniture, not functional. No carpet in the rooms leads to the guests above us being extremely loud all night.

Good location, good hotel, horrible smell and even worse service. I have stayed in many Tru hotels and this, by far, was the worst experience I've ever had. The non-pet room next door had barking dogs. The non-pet rooms smelled like pets. The A/C was broken. The breakfast opened late and ran out early. After a sleepless night and hotel staff who told me their "hands are tied" and to call the hotel owner. When doing so (Rita Patel), I found her to be extremely unprofessional and unaccommodating and instead blamed us for the nuisance when we did not even have a pet. We did not get any refund or adjustment for the bad experience, because she lied to Hilton support just to save a few dollars.
