I wish I could put ZERO STARS…The man that does retwist and style was very bad, he claimed that he knows how to do locs but he doesn’t, I went there just to test out his skills because he claims he is good and the person that does my locs was out of town. A woman would have done a better job 100%, I don’t like the look and I will never come back… dude should be fired for the monstrosity he did to my hair..he did not even twist the loc to the right he went to the left and he didn’t even lay my locs down with anything he just let them stick out and look crazy I paid $82 for a bad job but I guess the price speaks for itself. WORST EXPERIENCE!

READ YOU WILL NOT REGRET IT.IN NO WAY DOES THIS REVIEW PERTAIN TO THE WHOLE SALON 11 STAFF BUT ONLY 1 INDIVIDUAL.Number 1 thing to know is that I DID NOT get the hair I requested, NOT EVEN CLOSE. On top of that April worked VERY SLOW and dragged out for approximately 8 hours. I have about 12 inches of very thinning hair. I researched and found that people spend the same amount of time on very thick 30 inch long hair WITH BETTER RESULTS.Then there is the matter of lack of transparency when it comes to what to expect and when it comes to pricing. She never told me what to expect or what other outcomes I could possibly get which lead me to believe that I would get what I requested. During the whole process I was turned away from the mirror so I couldn't even see what she was doing.As for pricing, pricing was never communicated before hand. Now I understand why the hours and the foiling were dragged out, she charged by the hour. I was charged more for my short, thinning hair than others have been at other salons for longer and thicker hair. After the job was done she told me the price, I felt trapped and tricked. Yes, I should have asked before but I never imagined that there would be deception in a "professional" setting. After the exorbitant charge a tip was prompted making you feel obliged to pay that also. The only reason I chose her was because she was recommended to me by someone close, however, I WILL NEVER RECOMMEND HER not even to my enemy.UPDATE: 5 days later... It appears that my hair is all burned and is breaking off... And the strands that are left have turned olive greenish, yellow, and orange.

Mrs. Valerie Sampson is one of the nicest people I have met in my life. She believed in me when no one else did, gave me a chance to make her a website, and supported me on my journey. I can never forget her or the staff at the shop. The atmosphere is calm, welcoming and filled with good vibes. The amount of respect I have for this shop is incomparable.

This review took me over two years to write because I wasn't originally going to do so but I'm still dealing with the consequences of my hair that day.. I found Dlnia on social media and scheduled a consultation which consisted of me standing outside and her looking at my hair for 3 mins. I have always gotten a balayage where I use to live in Florida so I showed her pictures of my hair and what I've always done. Usually my past appointments took no more than 3 MAYBE 4 hours if my old stylist was doing another hair in between. I was told 7 hours because "she wanted to do it right the first time". Okay. Respect. I get there at 8am and it's Oct 11 2020, the day of the explosion in downtown Harrisonburg so everyone was frantic and we started about 30 mins late. No big deal. From the start she kept leaving to call different people to make sure they were okay. Understandable. It was about 3 hours later that my entire head was foiled and she let it sit for probably another hour and the washed but wasn't happy so started fooling again. I then sat under the heat lamp and at one point she said "10 more mins". She is currently doing her coworkers hair while I wait 10 mins. 45 mins go by and I'm still in bleach under the heat lamp! Then she takes me back and does two peoples eyebrows in between finishing my hair (I'm being charged by the half hour) Long story short 5:30pm rolls around and she starts doing the photo shoot and by 6pm I'm done. I got there at 8 and was done at 6 and was her ONLY appointment for a balayage when my hair was already balayaged I just needed a touch up. She ended up giving me some sort of discount but my total was still about $500. Insane. I get home and see that this is my hair and she offers to fix it "next time I come in". I told her I was insanely embarrassed by my hair so she fixed it a few days later, 3 hours later. She even told her coworker she was unhappy with how she left me.. then why let me leave without saying something?? I ended up going somewhere new next and the stylist told me my hair was completely fried. 2.5 years later and I'm still unable to dye the bottom and I can't put a pony tail in without a bunch of hair falling out and my hair is mid back length.. I've moved again and I'm scared to even find someone new again because it was such a traumatic situation. My other hairstylists told me this is about the worst they've heard and seen. Do further research if you want to keep your hair.
