If you want size 2 sweats, joggers and hoodies as they're called these days, this is the place for you. If you want anything else, you're out of luck.

Yeah definitely going downhill and fast. I always call ahead to see which styles they are taking, yesterday I was told they were looking for spring items no long sleeves..ok. So today when I bring my spring items in that are in excellent condition, they take 2 bralettes and a pair of brand new never worn heels for 8$. The girl started her "so were being really selective on styles right now because of our clearance event, especially with patterned stuff and were really looking for shorts" ok so why don't you give this information when people call and ask what they should bring in? A lot of us do travel 20+ to these locations. I had lovely Free People maxi dresses, and shorts in my bag of stuff that I had brought them. And as far as the quality of items they are "looking for" versus what they actually have on thier shelves is so far disconnected lol i wish i would have taken pictures for proof..there were a pair of purple flats in the size 5 section of shoes that had legitimate poop/mud stains on them and multiple dresses throughout the store with straps about to snap off because they are so worn. It'd be wise for the Regional manager to look at all these 1 star ratings and make some changes.

I traveled 35 mins, 4 days this week, only to be told they had reached the "budget" for that day, UNLESS the items are new items with tags!! It obviously doesn't matter what time of day or what day either. If they are going to continue doing this, it would be great to post a NOTICE online, on a door, on the counter, SOMEWHERE, instead of wasting people's TIME!!

"We only take brand new clothes with tags" is what I was told when I went to pick up my clothes. Do not advertise to buy gently used clothing (selective or not) if you don't mean it.

I found H&M shorts in the store, they were marked $13 as they are clearly used and this is a second hand store. On the website, they were $12 brand new. Awful store, the employees are just as bad too haha. They never accept any clothes for cash back yet you always see raggedy clothes on the rack. It’s such a bad store, don’t waste your money but if you do, make sure it’s not cheaper to buy your items brand new.

Awful store, always very young and rude employees working with no customer service skills. They're supposed to be a used clothing store, yet I constantly find clothing there (clearly worn) that is literally the same price or sometimes more than buying brand new. Would not recommend, don't waste your money here. Also, they never buy your clothes, so don't waste your time trying to sell them anything. I always see ripped/out of date/stained clothes for so expensive, yet they will never accept anything you try to bring them.

I had my first experience selling clothing at plato's and that place is the biggest joke ever. Out of a whole trash bag full of nice clothes and brands, they only took two items. One of the shirts they bought was probably the oldest and most faded shirt in the whole bag. However, they claimed that all of the other clothing was worn and didn't look like new. I found this absolutely hilarious because I take great pride in my clothes and what they look like. I get numerous compliments on how nice my clothes look all of the time. Some of the items that they claimed were "worn" are tommy hilfiger and american eagle shirts and sweaters that I had maybe worn once or not at all. Another thing that I believe makes the place a waste of my time is the clothing that is being sold in the store. Every time I shop in plato's I walk out empty handed because everything that I pick up from the rack either had a stain or is ripped up with snags and holes. It truly doesn't make one bit of sense. It's just crazy to me the way they accept and deny certain clothing.

*disclaimer* first time customer here to sell clothing. I dropped off 9 items (admonished for coming without my own bag or container for the items, silly me) and was a bit surprised only 3 were purchased but I understood and was given the script response at pickup about them being “extremely selective” - again, not an issue for me. I did feel the items were worth about 2x what I received but know that’s the business model and what keeps them going like any other pawn/consignment operation. What I found most distasteful was the attitude and rudeness of the employees on 5/22/23. When I first arrived I was the only customer to wait on and they flippantly gave me a form to fill out then quickly got back to their personal conversations shouted across the store and I sat for a few moments with my completed form to the extent that one employee had to tell the other closest to me to “pay attention” and finally attend to me. When I came back to collect my items/cash it was notably busier and the same employee who’d delayed attending to me earlier stated to the other “I don’t understand why people don’t have anything better to do” as if customers in the store and doing their job was the worst thing imaginable (maybe work somewhere else?) The other employee attended to me this time and gave me the well scripted lines about why items were returned to me and the value they offered with no option of accepting or refusing the offer and then, once again, flippantly dismissed me on my way with little more than a “see ya” after handing me the cash. Customer service training would go a long way here. Next time I’ll feel much better about donating items to a thrift shop with a good mission rather than taking petty cash.

I really liked the store but some of the staff are so stuck up and act like your mere presence is such an inconvenience to them that I don't feel comfortable going in there anymore.

Terrible experience waiting on my items while the 2 employees at front talk to each and gossip while many of us wait ! I have been sitting here for 31 min watching one order be entered the entire time. Gathered my stuff and left - not worth it

I can't belive how bad it's become & behind sales counters..Alot of used items are on hi sale prices..Don't even think bout taking items in to sale less you want laughed at..out of 4 sales people behind counter only 1 would wait on customers. The other 3 looked at customers & continued ignoring them..disappointing store for a platos closet... There's no way I'd come back to this store when I've been in serveral other ones much better customer service & organization.

The WORST customer service I have ever had... most of the workers there are unprofessional and have an attitude and give dirty looks. I wish I could give 0 stars because it is so dissapointing how this place is now.

This is my first time visiting a Plato’s Closet and I’m very unimpressed. They have a nice selection of clothing, but I don’t agree with pricing their clothes 50% higher than what you can pay for the same exact thing on the brands website. The employees were also very rude and acted like a customer was the biggest inconvenience to them. All of the employees I saw there, which was at least 5, all had attitudes towards other customers. Don’t go here if you don’t wanna be looked at as if you’re dirt.
