I've been taking my pets to Heartland for over a decade but due to the latest 4 awful visits, it's time to find new care for my furry babies. Unfortunately, two of my cats passed away within one month of each other (one from old age and the other due to cancer). I've found there is only one vet who cares and provides care while the others seem to be disengaged and aren't offering the level of care they once provided. The final straw was when they lost the ashes for my cat after I paid $328 for the cat to be euthanized, cremated, and ashes returned. The office staff is unfriendly and not compassionate. And although I understand that it's difficult to keep employees, it's not okay to treat grieving pet owners in a dismissive way.

Had to bring my daisy here for an emergency because I couldn't get in to see her regular vet. They were friendly and professional and compassionate and got me a same day appointment. Dr Hunt has been fantastic and they were patient with me calling several times with questions concerning changing Daisy prescription food and accommodating so that I could get it locally as they are an hour from me.

I am on total disability and living off a disability check and living in government housing and sometimes can't figure out if I'm going to have enough money for groceries, but when you love your animal you do what you have to do, I didn't exactly have enough money to pay for everything all at once, but after talking with them for a while and explaining things, I was able to get every single thing I needed to get done while I was there and they worked with me where I was able to get everything taken care of! They don't just care about your animal and making money from you and your animal, I saw that they actually truly cared about animals and their health, and their well-being, and they care about the animals owner! They're not just all about money like most all these other veterinarians!

Not a trustworthy vet practice. My boyfriend and I have been going to Heartland for 3 years and in the past 3 years there's been many things that have been "miscommunicated" which leads to money loss on our end. I always ask for an estimate and have done so since the start and recently I asked for a estimate for our new puppy and for the estimate it said the rabies was no cost. However when I actually took him to get the shot we were charged for rabies. So I asked why, when on the estimate it seemed like it was included. They said that the estimate was based on a wellness plan which was around $47 a month for our puppy. However, we never have had a wellness plan for any of our pets and on our other estimates it wasn't based on having a wellness plan. So, there should have been no reason why the estimate was based on a wellness plan. If I would've been given a correct estimate or told PRIOR to getting the shots of the actual cost, I would've taken my puppy to the multiple different places that do rabies shots for FREE! Also this past week I was ordering heart worm preventatives and was told I shouldn't order 6 months of x weight because my puppy will grow over. So I asked them what to do and they said to order 1 or 2 months of x weight and then order the bulk amount for the weight that he'll actually be. So I said "that makes sense can I order the 1 month single dose and the bulk dose amounts now?" And the techs said yes they would approve it. But, my order got cancelled so I called and asked why and they then tried to state that the "notes" that they had of the conversation said to order a single dose and then re-weigh every month and buy it monthly. This was so frustrating because I was told something completely different by their other techs and today they were trying to make it seem like I was the one who was in the wrong and trying to explain why they can't approve it ahead of time (which I understood from the beginning but I was told something different so I was trying to do what they told me). Not professional and there's obviously a lack of communication among the techs and doctors to the customers. Other than these two recent issues there been a multitude of other things that are concerning. I won't be going here again.

After coming here for years with many animals with Dr Arneson, i am disappointed today they wouldn’t allow me and my child together in on a ultrasound for our baby this is a first experience for us and we were very excited, they tell me one person in room only, meanwhile to elderly people walk in together and nothing is said, i say something at that point about them and they said oh one will go back out meanwhile the tech walked in with them… very disappointing; i have really loved dr arneson but this has made me look for a new vet. Dr Arneson himself is wonderful and if you need anything serious he would be the one to go too.

They saw our Bella when our own vet couldn't! I've been in contact with them every few day since! I've asked lots of questions and they've responded and been very helpful! We can't thank them enough for saving our Bella

Dr. Arneson is the best vet you could possibly want or ask of. Chloe is so good for him and allows him to do what is best for her healthcare. I drive 1hour 20 minutes one way for him to continue keeping her healthy.

My dog got attacked at the park and Heartland Veterinary took her in right away on a Saturday even though we weren't a past client. They got her all fixed up and were very kind. I would definitely use this vet again!

Heartland is an awesome clinic. We have two older dogs and Heartland has really helped us keep them healthy. We have worked with all three vets over the years and each one has treated us with respect and has always helped us understand what is going on and our options. We have been to other vets where they don't listen, don't care, and shame you if you are not doing something perfect. The staff at heartland is compassionate, takes time to make sure you have your questions answered, and has been flexible when we aren't comfortable with the first option. I have also referred co-workers and friends over the years and after their first visit understand why we like them so much.
