I CAN’T BELIEVE I HAVEN’T DONE A GOOGLE REVIEW YET!!! Harrisonburg Animal Hospital is PHENOMENAL!!! In the well over a decade we have worked with HAH, they have been critical to our cats living PERIOD and secondly living healthy, fulfilling lives. Dr. Ward, Dr. Nelson, countless INCREDIBLE Vet Techs have literally saved more than one of their lives and given us borrowed time with our fur-children. A HUGE nod to the masterminds at the front desk for ALL that they do to keep things running smoothly. Even the folks who keep the place clean get our appreciation. Time and time again they all have come to care for our babies in a manner that is like they would treat their own animals. They are professional, intelligent, highly-skilled, efficient, thoughtful, loving and go above and beyond OVER AND OVER again. We absolutely adore all of them and continue to recommend HAH any chance we get. Our pets and us are SO fortunate to be able to rely on all of them from the easy things to the hardest. We just can’t thank them or recommend them enough.

So I have a dog that I rescued back in 2015 and he only loves me. Literally, no one else can mess with him do anything with him and he needed surgery and and this veterinarian office is exceptional with listening to Pet owners, concerns, advice, and knowledge of their pet, and they went above and beyond to make sure that my dog was one safe to comfortable with his surroundings and his anxieties, and it was a great experience for me my pup and the veterinarian office. I can’t say enough about these people. I highly recommend them their phenomenal and I feel comfortable when the time comes to bring him back in for his shot or office visits or whatever he may need. So if you have a pet that has anxieties or is a difficult pet these people are awesome with those kinds of animals. They just make it so easy. This is a five star veterinarian.

Outstanding Doctors and staff. Dr. Ward has been caring for my three Lovies for more than 11 years. She, along with the other veterinarians and staff care for many of my family member's beloved pets as well. From routine exams, to surgeries, to nail trims and baths. Through it all, they maintain the highest standards, knowledge and skills. But above all else, they each genuinely care about our four legged friends.

We have been taking our babies to Dr Ward and her fabulous team for many years. Our two elderly guys passed over the last several years - our Beau in January earlier this year. The team couldn’t have been more compassionate, exceptionally competent and empathetic. They are extremely accommodating in emergent situations - calm, caring and employ quick action to do everything they can to treat your babies. We can’t thank them enough for making the extremely difficult process of losing our pups (Opie and Beau) just a little bit easier. I get emotional remembering their kindness and professionalism.
We have now entrusted this fabulous team with our new puppies Nicky and Toby and wouldn’t take them anywhere else!
We highly recommend bringing your fur babies to HAH as they will be very well taken care of every time - and you will be greeted with a smile every time you walk in the door. ♥️?

Onyx loves seeing Dr.Ward and her courteous staff! From the moment you walk in to the time you walk out you see smiling, caring faces. They treat your pet with love and kindness and make sure they get the attention they need.

If I could give this review more than five stars, I would. We discovered Our cat Sammy had a malignant mast cell tumor during his yearly checkup. Dr. Ward was able to schedule his surgery not long after, and get it all removed. The tumor was in a difficult spot, and Sammy didn’t make the healing process easy. Harrisonburg Animal Hospital went above and beyond with accommodating us and giving Sammy amazing care. All the Veterinarians and staff are always so friendly. We definitely recommend Harrisonburg Animal Hospital to anyone in the area.

Amazing people! Smart, helpful and very, very kind. Dr. Ward took the time to help me make the right decision for my sweet dog. She didn’t push at all but she also didn’t just dump it on me and say “well, it’s up to you”. It was so obvious how much she cared. She explained everything clearly and compassionately and helped me process it. Everyone I interacted with in the office that day was supportive and kind to both me and Peeka. I am grateful for their help and could not recommend them more highly.

I took my parakeet to Maria. She took time with me to discuss my birds diet and came out and sat with me and answered all my questions. Staff was all courteous and professional! Highly recommend! I also appreciated the fact that Maria was honest with me about what type of care she would provide that day and how we would continue to monitor my bird for future visits.

I'm so grateful for HAH! I was worried about my recently adopted, once feral, and very timid dog's first trip to the vet. Ladybug was barely ready for a car ride let alone an exam by a stranger. I called ahead to express my concern; we devised a plan. A tech came out to my car. She took us in during a lull and pre-opened all doors so Ladybug wasn’t spooked by entering bells, or doors being opened. She allowed my other dog, Tiktok, to show Ladybug around, and do everything first, like get on the scales, be petted, and examined to show LB they weren't scary. Dr Nelson and the tech were so gentle! Ladybug got through the exam and shivered in the corner a little while I talked to Dr Nelson afterward, but overall, she did remarkably well. Many thanks to HAH for their kindness and stellar service!

They were very informative and caring when it came to getting my kitty spaded. They even called 2 days later to check on her and to see if we had any questions or concerns. I greatly recommend and will definitely return with any future new pets.

I can't say enough about how great an experience it was when we brought our Pup to see Dr. Ward and her crew. She spent a ton of time with me, explaining things and answering my questions -- but not like I was a 5 year old. She was super thoughtful, researched our dog's condition, and coordinated with Specialists from a different Animal Hospital. They didn't try to upsell us and just went above and beyond to care for our Dog. We have found our new permanent Vet!
