This is an extremely noisy place to live especially in the evenings and on weekends! If you live on the first-floor good luck, the 2nd floor's subfloor squeaks with every step and you can even hear a cat run across their apartment. If the person above you has a large dog, awe man!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This place was built in 1969, probably to house the increasing number of men attending JMU or Madison College since going co-ed in the 60's. JMU was starting to construct male dormitories on campus in the late 60's. If you are looking for peace and quiet, this isn't it!!

This was my first apartment that I moved into and It was very nice. The happiest I have ever been living there. Only complaint was that the units did not have a built in laundry unit.

Grand Duke has a great office and maintenance who always are on top of things. My favorite part is the value for your apartment but a convenient location to everything!

I truly can't say enough good things about this complex and it's employees. Justin the groundskeeper is diligent about keeping the grounds clean, Kyle our friendly maintenance man is always punctual and it's done right the first time. And last, but definitely not least Tyler, our manager goes truly above and beyond to make it feel like home from the grills and picnic tables plus our own personal laundromat to the wonderful dog park there truly isn't much you could ask for that isn't already here.

Grand Duke is such a quiet and beautiful apartment complex. The nature is amazing and the staff here are all so helpful and friendly.

Amazing community! Very clean, and my dog loves the dog park! Maintenance is very fast and office staff is super easy to talk to. Very friendly.

Ive been living here for a few years now and really like it! I really like how quiet it is at my complex, away from all the jmu bustle. The dog park and other grassy areas are nice for picnics and just hanging out. The bridge over the creek that cuts through the whole complex is a great place to unwind. Maintenance is always speedy and I love the hospitality from our landlord, makes me feel very safe, ya know, letting the community know they're taken good care of and thought about.

It really is a great place to live in very comfortable. Most of the neighbors are nice and respectful. Love that pet's are permitted. Parking spaces are no longer an issue. Humble and respectful landlord very grateful for him and his teammates.

We've lived here for almost 2 years now and wouldn't change a thing.Laundry is CC operated. Maintenance is quick and handy and the grounds keeper ensures the property stays nice. The price isn't bad to beat either!

This place was a gem of a find for me! It is quiet and peaceful yet really close to campus! The people and staff members are also very sweet!
