Wanted all the money up front and did not complete the job! Told us he ordered materials with our money and will not give it to us to at least have a third party finish the job. Spoke to the police today filing charges in the morning for theft of property and stealing our money. Charged us double for countertop boards and tried to charge us more for cabinets that were cheaper at Lowe's in the initial invoice. Told us he got a discount at lowes but then ordered the exact same cabinets at higher price. Cops recommended a lawyer to file charges because of the amount of money stolen. Pure scam and unprofessional. Spoke to someone today that recently sued the the company and won judgement this month as a fact of public record. Has done the same in the pass to others please research before using this company as we did not. It is all public record.

DO NOT GIVE HIM MONEY Wanted money upfront and would not respond in a timely manner. Once he recieved our money he did not attempt to put us first and admitted to being at one job while not finishing ours. It had been a month and we had to rely on his short messages with zero clarification on details. Up charged us on cabinets, so i got my own then charged us double for materials that we haven't seen, never ordered the materials and strung us along to pay for other lawsuits maybe (public record do you research please. Do not trust the company it's similar to a ponzi scheme, taking peoples money to pay other things which we learned today is illegal. Rockingham county sherrifs office advised us what to do and doing so this week after comiling the evidence, documentation text messages etc. Hire workers are not allowed to keep property in their possession esp after given opportunities to return items with zero response. Kept all materials left holes in the wall etc. People do your research its public information and we got ripped off. He does not respond to texts and will have an excuse every time. Told me it would be a easy simple job its been over a month. He is not credible and his work is shotty. He is only trying to get money from you and will not finish. He will lead you on with kindness do not fall for it. He has no idea how the business world works you can google his name or public records and see for yourself. He will not show up when he says he will, you will most certainly lose a day of work and he will charge for hours and not really do anything, its almost comical and childish. He will make excused like a child and lie, he thinks his problems are the customers and wants sympathy like a child. When I say its bad its bad. He will show up and not measure anything, bring the wrong materials and act like he knows what hes doing. It pretty funny now to look back but we will get our money back getting a lawyer and paying him 125 a hour to pursue charges. All we asked for was a refund and the materials and a crime has been committed according to the sheriffs office. We are paying to do it the right way because now we have to pay double for someone to finish. He doesnt know what he's doing the work is bad!!! Like bad!!

TLDR; Awful experience. Unreliable and unskilled in carpentry. If you decide to risk it, DO NOT pay a deposit before the job.\nI hired Ty to remove a porch pillar, reconstruct it with new wood, and fortify the brick and concrete foundation below the pillar. He was two days late for the job, and then didn't do at all what was planned. He removed and reconstructed a different pillar that I had clearly said was redundant and unneeded. He left the job site without saying a word, and then called me to tell me he was finished for the day and would be returning the following morning to finish fortifying the concrete.\nI could tell the work was unstable and poorly done. My dad (an experienced handyman of 40+ years) said a carpenter would laugh at this job. Ty used small pieces of wood to construct the pillar, and multiple pieces were split by the nails he used. The worst part was that he built an unstable and unnecessary pillar that I now have to demolish. He then failed to show up the next day or respond to my texts and emails.\nEventually he gave me a call, and boy did he unload excuses, blames, and lies. He said the pillar that he built is required by the city because it's weight-bearing, yet the pillar was so poorly constructed that it isn't even touching the beam that it's supposed to be bearing the weight of. He said he used small pieces of wood to construct the pillar because he wanted to match the construction style of the house, and that's just how old houses are built. He finished by saying that any other contractor would condemn our house, which is laughable because we purchased it six months ago and had an inspector, appraiser, home insurance liaison, and multiple realtors rave about its condition.\n38 days ago he said he'd refund us for everything but his time and materials, and he'd pick up the materials he left. We haven't received a refund, his materials are still on our property, and I'm now disputing the full $250 charge with my credit card company.

Above and Beyond Handy LLC was a fantastic company to work with while we set up a condo in the Campus View community. Ty was on time, professional and completed a long list of tasks -- from fixing a running toilet, to helping unload and assemble furniture and installing an electronic door lock (and more that I am forgetting!). I am so grateful not only for his help, but for his positive attitude and hard work on a day I know he normally doesn't work. I have his number saved and will call on him again when we need assistance. Thank you so much, Ty!

They truly went above and beyond to make sure the job was done right! I had them install an exterior door at my house and the door I purchased was missing some parts. They went out of their way to get the missing parts and took their time to make sure it all fit and worked correctly. I will definitely be hiring them again for future home projects!

Ty went above and beyond to help me when my cat got lost in my floorboards. He genuinely wanted to help me and I am extremely grateful he took the time out of his evening for me. Wouldn’t hesitate to call again

I would not recommend this company to anyone. The low price quotes may attract you, but you'll get what you pay for! Ty, the owner, initially impressed us with his friendly demeanor and we decided to hire him for floor work in a small half bath due to his low quote. However, it became quickly apparent that he was not qualified or professional enough to do the work properly. When we asked him to replace our worn bathroom floors and match the original wood color, he wouldn't even pull up a piece to match it in the stores which puzzled us. So when he came back on the day he was scheduled to do the job with new hardwood pieces that clearly didn't match ours, we knew something was wrong. We lost an entire day because of his guesswork while he visited additional stores to find a match of what he thought was the right wood color. After we realized this was going nowhere, we asked him to pull up a piece of the floor to avoid further guesswork and waste of our time. At this point, he tore up our old bathroom floor with his tools (oddly his saw was not working) and in the process damaged our bathroom walls. He chose not to first use a utility knife to cut the seal around the wood trim. So when he pulled it up, it tore off sections of our wall paint with it. I had to give him my utility knife and ask him to be careful for the rest of the trim that needed to be pulled up. He tried to paint over the damaged areas but the original paint damage is still very visible. He also destroyed the wooden trim after pulling it up which now requires replacement. Once we finally had a wood sample from our floor, we had to look for the replacement floorboards on our own as it was obvious he still didn't know what to look for. When he finally came to do the work in the bathroom a couple days later, he ended up using much more wood than he originally told us was needed (one box) which indicated that he didn't estimate the level of effort and materials correctly. He also left large gaps thick enough for a quarter in between the floorboards near the end of the installation process which he rushed. He even cracked our pedestal sink when attempting to put it back along with the drain gasket which he tried to imply was already there (but actually was not). What surprised us is that he didn't notice the pedestal crack or the large gaps until after I pointed them out. Though he also didn't seem concerned or apologetic about it. He agreed to come back and finish the work along with replacing the pedestal sink a couple days later (though he only offered a cheap replacement). He was also scheduled to do additional paintwork in another room with the assistance of another person on his team (though he later denied ever telling us this). The night before the work was to commence, he would not reply to my text asking him to confirm his arrival time. On the day of the job, I texted him again to confirm his arrival as I still had not received a reply. Several minutes later, he texted back that his "little guy is not feeling well" and that he couldn't come until two days later... When I asked about whether the painter on his team could still come, he never replied. I also asked him whether he could commit to completing the remainder of the work by a certain day and time due to my work schedule and since we had lost so much time and have been unable to use that bathroom. However, he would not respond to my texts. Meanwhile, all my iMessages to his iPhone were being marked as delivered. I tried calling several times and his phone rang normally each time (not briefly like a phone without a signal). When I would get his voicemail, it was full so I had to continue messaging him. When he finally replied by text later that day, he stated that he had no signal since 5am due to an emergency even though he replied quickly to my 8am text and even though all my original messages were marked as delivered. He was very irate and unprofessional in his texts and even called me crazy! He later lied to my wife and told her he never call
