I absolutely love, love, love times 1000 Dr. K and her entire staff. I have never had an unpleasant experience with Freed Vet. They are so kind and care about our fur babies. They make us feel like family and not just clients. We have been using Freeds for almost 20 years and I never want to go anywhere else.

Be careful taking your animal here. I went in for a chest x-ray for my cat. The vet was unable to get the x-ray because the animal "didn't cooperate". Wanted to fully sedate my cat and have me leave her. I declined and said we discussed this not being an option during my initial appointment. Additionally Hampton is under a tornado watch so obviously I would not leave my animal. They then charged me the full chest x-ray amount $400 and several of the staff came to the desk to argue and laugh at me, when I disagreed with paying for an x-ray they didn't complete. One even said we discussed "this" when I made the appointment and I reminded her that I declined then as well. I do not recommend taking your animal here. I am leaving with a sick furbaby, with no diagnosis, after spending $400. If you can't do the job, you should not make a customer pay. And their team needs to learn how to professionally deal with a dissatisfied customer. Jumping on at a customer at the front desk is extremely unprofessional. Very poor service, disengenuous information and charging a customer for nothing should never be allowed. To add to this, I was told I could come back to finish the x-rays, but I would be charged again...after paying full price, as I was told, today.

Dr. K, her techs, and her staff are wonderful. She actually sat down on the floor to introduce herself to my cat. Her staff are friendly and very helpful, and the techs are top rate. I recommend this place whole heartedly.

READ THIS REVIEW BEFORE COMING TO FREED VET. After years of trying multiple vets for my black lab, lex, who has addison’s disease, I felt defeated, unheard, and dismissed. I can go on and on about the horrible experiences I’ve had elsewhere. Vets holding my dog down and muzzling him to get blood work, which made him extremely fearful of the vet and any bloodwork which is needed for his disease to make sure he’s healthy. For a very long time, I skimmed past freed vet due to the 3/5 star rating (because of course, I’d try highest rating vets first) but from the very first appointment, my husband called me, and said “Anna we’ve found our new vet” and I was almost in tears when I heard about his experience here. He said lex was given so much love and treats, and that they weren’t able to do his bloodwork because he was so fearful and scared. The vet offered medication to help him for his next visit, and made it a point to me to say that Lex needs to build trust with the employees at freed so that every vet visit can be a good one. From the first visit Lex had here, he is known by name, he is given treats and pets the whole time I’m there, and the entire staff is so incredibly patient and loving towards every animal who walks through the doors. The last time I brought lex there was a sign on the door asking for you to be quiet upon entering because someone was putting their dog down. This vet really cares, they take their time, don’t rush you out, and gives you the absolute best recommendations for your babies. I asked the vet to check my dogs teeth because he’s older and may need a cleaning. She assured me his teeth are good and that there’s no need to spend all the extra money on a teeth cleaning. They are fear free certified & Absolutely no judgment was felt by anyone here, and I no longer think that taking my dog to the vet is a chore, I love bringing my dog here to get even more pets and cuddles than he does at home! THANK YOU FREED! For everything you do and for helping me care for my sweet boy lex. Every other animal that was brought in during our visit was treated with the same love and respect as Lex! No matter where I may move, this is the ONLY vet I will ever trust with my pets. They even have dog bandanas in the lobby with a calming pheremone that you can put on your dog to help them relax. Do yourself a favor and book an appointment to see just how much you were missing at any other vet!

My mom’s dog always feels comfortable around staff here. He gives them his lil smile everytime. The vet is amazing with mom’s dog and my cat. They are pricy though. But worth it.

You don't always bring your dog to the vet because everything is going well. It's nice to know that there is a place that cares as much about your pet. As you do.

Bit of backstory for this to make sense, I use to live in Hampton and sent my Great Pyrenees to Freed every Wednesday for daycare. I, at the time, lived in an apartment and wanted him to be able to run around and play. The staff took great care of him; he would come home brushed, tired, and was always excited to go back. They also handled all his medical checks and shots. Prior to moving to Rushmere and across the JRB, I was set on Freed. Now the biggest reason for this review. When my husband and I moved, the house we bought had a bunch of strays that would hang out around the carport. I fell in love with one and got attached, however we had just gotten a cat not too long prior and I didnt want to stress her out so we kept the stray outdoors and loved him from there. In October, my husband was walking me to my car and saw Munchie (the cat) laying on our stairs with a severely broken leg. Thankfully we were able to get Munchie in a carrier and taken to Animal Control.About a week after, I received a call saying they were not going to be able to help Munchie, but if I wanted to save him I could. Without thinking, I accepted and immediately called Freed. After explaining the situation and the length of time that had passed, they advised me to bring him to them ASAP. I did just that and they squeezed him in between appointments and stayed late to care for him. He was with them extended time to ensure he took well to surgery and was adjusted well.Communication was an all time high and they did everything I could have asked for and more. I have even gotten calls and messages asking how he has been doing and to check on him. Im forever thankful for the care that was provided.
