Be careful when you go to this place. There is no transparency between bills and payment. I have 3 appointments, the first 2 I asked really specific questions :” Is that all the payment I made for this service?” And “ How much for next appointment that I need to pay?” This is confirmed only $84 for 3rd on. When come to 3rd appointment, I received the statement that I need to pay $1000 more from previous 2 appointments which is confusing. 3 months between appointment 2nd and 3rd but I received no notification about this payment, no paper explaining when I show up. I was shocked and clueless. The office is not clear with communication so please be careful and don’t make the same mistake like me.

I recently had the misfortune of going to Hampton Aspen in reference to a general dental checkup. I have to confess that it was the worst decision of my life. During the initial visit, a plethora of x-rays were taken after which a dental hygienist examined my gums and bones. She informed me that I was experiencing some gum disease and bone loss. She recommended that undergo various procedures to resolve the problematic areas. After her examination, a dentist reviewed the findings of the x-rays and suggested various procedures to remedy again...problematic areas. The total estimate of the procedures was roughly around $9,450.00. The receptionist then advised...the next day...that I apply for their financial plan to cover the price. My insurance was estimated to cover $4,000 with me being responsible for the remainder. At this juncture...something just didn't feel right, So I decided to seek a second opinion.I made an appointment at a local dentist and they took their own set of x-rays. The dental hygienist there informed me that my gums and bones looked good! The dentist did find some problematic areas...but...there was no need for the removal of a tooth...no apparent reason for me to receive a bridge...and the procedures that were required could be preformed in one visit!!! Hmmmmmmmm...something doesn't quite smell right!! I would advise anyone...everyone going to Aspen...to seek a second opinion! I also took the printed recommendations made by Aspen to this dentist . Let's just say...that the findings definitely did not match up! It was almost criminal in nature. The only thing missing...was the use of a gun and a mask!

I have had several appointments at Aspen Dental in Hampton, VA. I went in with concerns with my teeth decaying quickly and suddenly. The problem was solved on the first visit. Unfortunately I had to have 8 upper teeth pulled and one lower tooth. That has been done and I got my temporary dentures the same day. The entire process from beginning to end was wonderful. I was shocked at how pleasant the entire staff has made this experience. The staff is very knowledgeable, friendly and personable. The front office, techs, hygienist, nurse and dentist are amazing. My bill was explained thoroughly and they offered a payment plan. I highly recommend this office for your dental needs.

I went there for a broken tooth, I was told I needed deep cleaning and this has to be done prior to fixing the broken tooth, The lady that did my eval did not even care I was in pain in my mouth when she placed the instrument on my gum line, recommended oral cancer screening for which I am very low risk" I recommend it for everyone " was the reply.I was then walked into the section where appointment can be fixed and the lady there said my bill was 2600 dollars and after insurance my portion will be 570 dollars. Beware of this place, I did not pay and have requested my x-rays for a second opinion. The x-ray tech was very professional, the doctor seemed nice and explained it all but outside I found out that he will not fix my tooth until I payed for all the appointments, finally the problem I went with did not get fixed!!!

Very stressful dealing with this location! My daughter tooth is infected so it's mandatory she is seen. It's been alot of back and fourth with the office and its really giving racists vibes at this location I recieved a phone call from someone in the office on a Sunday stating that they do not accept Medicare or Medicare I said thats fine if it results in pulling her tooth I am fine with paying the cost from ther its been nothing but issues I am highly upset and I live in Norfolk. So I had to travel from norfolk to Hampton 3x in 1 day nothing has been resolved

Absolutely horrible customer service! I contacted Aspen dental specifically to schedule an appointment with the oral surgeon. I was told that I had to complete a new comprehensive dental evaluation with them as they would not accept the records from my previous dentist. The visit was scheduled at the location in the locality in which I reside. I had to wait over a month to have the appointment, I waited 45 minutes at the appointment before being told that they were too busy to see me that day, and then when I went to reschedule I was informed that the oral surgeon does not accept referrals from their office. One of the office staff looked in the system and informed me that I had spoken with a call center and apparently "they don't know about (our) services." I am in excruciating pain and irate. I spoke with three employees of Aspen dental prior to this appointment and at no point was I told that I could not receive a referral to their oral surgeon, despite being aware of the fact that my appointment was scheduled primarily for the purpose of seeing the oral surgeon. There is clearly a lack of training, a lack of knowledge, and a breakdown of communication amongst their employees. The entire situation was highly unprofessional and I would never recommend this agency to anybody.

My initial appointment was cancelled due to a call out from Aspen Dental. I was frustrated but I understand that stuff happens. For my reschedule, I had a set time a few weeks later and they called the day before to move the time up. Again attempting to be understanding, I obliged. I reworked my work schedule to assist them. Now, once more attempting to be understanding and show appreciation for Aspen Dentals time, I showed up early. However, when I showed up for the appointment, the door was locked because they essenentially don't opened their doors until they open or near open. Which normally makes sense except they scheduled the appointment at opening time. So, of course by the time we get checked in and fill out the paperwork and get pulled back for the appointment its 10 or 15 past the scheduled appointment time. I essentially feel like I went above and beyond to show appreciation for their time on three separate occasions and my time was not valued at all!

I had the worst experience that I have ever had at the office on Jefferson Blvd. The secretaries were nice enough although none were very helpful. It seems as though they are more concerned with billing my insurance company for X-ray and consultation fees and not doing the work. I called ahead for a tooth extraction, when I arrived- they performed the X-ray the Denist checked the tooth and then proceeded to tell me he’s going to give me a referral and a prescription for an antibiotic. The prescription was never sent to my pharmacy and there was no referral given. It’s like they’re running some sort of scam. It like should I call my insurance company and make them aware. This was the most unprofessional experience I’ve had with any professional

Because my appointment was at 2:00 , when they call they tell you to be 30 minutes early.. remind you everyone don’t have a car . One of the worker’s asked one of the team staff could l sit in there.. she came back and said we don’t open til 2!! Next time you all call make sure you tell the people your lunch hour’s! Had to sit outside! Won’t be going back there

This place is terrible! They cancelled my appointment the first time because they said I did not verbally confirm the appointment. I work nights was off of work and slept in. When I showed up they said they had cancelled my appointment. They scheduled me for a month later. They called but I missed the call. I called back spoke to someone and confirmed the appointment when I got there on time for my appointment they said they had cancelled it again. Said it was no record put in of my confirmation. I confirmed that the number I called back was there number and that I did call back and they would not see me. I am never going back!

Went in a few months ago after finally getting in contact with their coordinator or whom ever she is for a consult, that never happened because their computers were down, was told they would call me never did still until this day. Their hours are super inconvenient for those who work during the day and never have any appointments available. The only reason I gave one star is because it’s located across from where I live.

This is how the day went. I arrive for the appointment 10 mins early in case we had to check any paperwork. The sign said to have a seat first before your help. I did that. The lady at the front desk turn to me and ask if I had Medicaid. In shock, I said no I have insurance and I have an appointment that's why I am here early. I showed her my insurance card letting her know I do work for a county and we do have dental insurance and I had a check and you were in my mark. She took my insurance card and said we don't take it yet come to find out they do that my insurance. This will not help me at all given the fact I set the appointment a month ago. I even went back to get some more information and apparently one of the office managers began to be rude to me. I had to tell her that you are escalating the situation and to avoid it getting out of hand get me another manager. Had to set another appointment for July. I am a proud black man and human.
