I was a walk-in last Friday, unaware that they were trying to switch to no new patients on Fridays. Thankfully, they were still able to get Teeto weighed to establish him as a patient, so that I could sign up for their online pharmacy and order his Dasuquin Adv last minute. They also helped me set up an appointment for the following Thursday (today) at 8am for a more detailed checkup. They gave me a feliway wipe to help calm Teeto down beforehand - it worked great ☺️So today, I accidentally signed in to the walk-in sheet again despite having an appointment. Thankfully Jane caught it before I ended up waiting too long, thank you, Jane! I met with the Vet Assistant (whose name I didn't catch, sorry), she had prepared a towel wiped down in Feliway and was attentive to Teeto's demeanor, asking me if he dislikes being picked up when he showed signs of distress. She also took detailed notes on why I brought Teeto in and effectively conveyed that info to Dr. Woodley, so that she could come in with a plan and suggestions ready. Dr Woodley laid everything out in ways that were easy to understand and seemed promising. I'm confident it'll be then same when we go over the blood test results.Everyone I interacted with here was very kind, helpful, and accommodating ☺️ Thank you all

Reasonably priced and kind. Their parking lot is big but always full! During the thick of covid, they allowed both of us to come in to say goodbye to our cat. I only dislike that it's basically first come, first served. I wish we could make appointments.

This is absolutely ridiculous. They have been our family vet for over 30 years and . I hate to say it I'm done. Ever since Covid they have gone down hill. There front receptionists are rude , obnoxious, and I'm my opinion 100 percent useless. I have tried to take our family dog up there 3 different times and every time . I mean every time they tell me they are full to capacity. The receptionist only answer to me was come back later. I was so upset I told her for what so you can tell me where full to capacity again. There was literally places to set inside. Places to park outside. I don't get it. I'm glad my dog was not seriously sick.

Get there early and sign in, otherwise you might not be seen. First come first serve. Great vet though.

Best vet ever! We found an abandoned kitten with an infection, dehydrated and malnourished. They took SUCH good care of both him and us. They so obviously care about the animals, genuinely care about them. They don't overcharge and are SO sweet. Definitely my new vet.

This is one of the best animal hospitals hands down. They are always willing to work with you if you're low-income. If you're in the Fox Hill area or near the beach. Look, no further than Arminstead They are hands down the best. They have treated my Betty and my Lucy so well. And I always have them on Speed Dial in case of an emergency. They are my favorite veterinarian to go to. Any time I need to get my animals seen. Make sure you get there early because it does fill up fast. I would recommend going the start of the day. It does get pretty crowded because they are so good.

After a long week of dealing with different vets, I can say this is the nicest place in the city. The people here care about their patients and are so incredibly empathetic and kind, I will only be coming here in the future.

Have you ever had a situation where your beloved animal's health was in jeopardy and you had nowhere to go? That's exactly what happened to me when my cat had an upset stomach and his regular clinic was closed for the day. I was at a loss until I remembered the Armistead Avenue Veterinary Hospital, which was always bustling with activity. Although I was aware that I would have to wait due to their walk-in policy, I was pleasantly surprised to see that the clinic was still following COVID protocols. Thoughtful yet slightly inconvenient, the wait was worth it as the doctor was incredibly knowledgeable and put my mind at ease. The clinic was crowded, which isn't surprising given their popularity, but I was delighted to see that they were able to accommodate my furry friend in his time of need. After a wait of over two hours, I was given some suggestions and my mans didn't require any medication. If you're ever in need of a reliable veterinary clinic, look no further than Armistead Avenue Veterinary Hospital. You can find them at 531 N Armistead Ave in Hampton, VA, or give them a call at (757) 723-8571. Trust me, your furry friends will thank you for it!

The care that my dog and cat are given here is excellent! Dr Silky is a great vet with a lovely demeanor and the vet techs and reception staff are always pleasant to me and sweet with my dog and cat. I appreciate that Dr Silky doesn’t push a pill for every ailment but encourages me to consider alternatives, such as when my cat had bronchitis he asked me if I was using plug ins and essential oils and asked what kind of cat litter I was providing. I ended up stopping use of essential oil diffusers, switched litter and got two air purifiers and my cat is completely fine now. Or today when my dog cut his paw, Dr Silky didn’t push antibiotics. My experience with other vets has been that they push for an antibiotic (even with no infection present) and pain pills (I had dog Aspirin at home). Although the do walk in appointments only (unless for surgery) and the wait time can be long, I feel that it’s well worth the wait time. Thank you, Armistead Ave staff! I appreciate your loving care and concern for my Walter and Finn.

Four generations of my family have used this animal clinic and I would never go anywhere else. Dr. Mike helped me have 10 extra years with my cat that I just recently had to gently put to rest. Dr. Bruce was her primary care giver and Michelle was her groomer. Such a caring and professional group of people! I will never be without a fur baby and I pray this establishment is around as long as I am! Thank you all!

I if you adopted a dog from PRAS I do not recommend you come here for the complementary visit. The vet mentioned during our consultation “I would normally talk about -insert care- but since this is a complementary visit…..well, thanks for letting me know that my puppies stitches are healing ok, I’ll go elsewhere for the rest of my care solely because of that statement.
