Steve and, Patrick before, and their team welcome you like family and will really get to know you, your tastes and dislikes and will remember it and will offer you new wines that match those tastes. Their cheese selection is also great and so are their wine tastings on weekends where you will often meet the winemaker or distributor. While their selection might be smaller than the big box stores who claim to have more, The Wine Outlet has way more in diversity of wine, hands down better pricing, way more knowledgeable and helpful team and a vibe of going to a “friends place” for gathering!! They will also happily order something that they may not carry if available in the state!A local gem”

“For dining, lovely ambiance inside and out. Service isn't always that great, particularly inside. The menu is limited but everything on it is excellent. For alcohol purchase, they can get anything. You can order it, pay for it ahead of time, back up and they will load it in your car.”

The area is really stale, so this place seems to get the culture gap. We were there on Saturday 1/27 and didn't catch the name of the band but they were AMAZING and the entire place was singing along! Kudos. A+ experience. Highly recommend!”

“I enjoy Balducci's because they have a nice variety of wines you can not easily get at big box stores. If you need that special ingredient for a dish, they usually have it. You can grab a snack and a drink and sit in their Cafe or outdoors on the patio. And mostly I appreciate the pleasant staff who are always willing to help and not make you feel rushed.While the prices are more expensive than other grocery stores this is a specialty market and for that prepare to spend a little extra. If looking for a weekly grocer, this may not be it. But if looking to cater a party, find a special bottle of wine or get that hard to find ingredient, this is a place to check out.”

“Shocked!! Stopped by to pick up a few bottles before my parents arrived in town,I grew up in the SF Bay Area, close to Napa, Sonoma, and Lodi. We usually bought wine at the wineries. Well... I'm just about out of my CA stash,The lady at the shop was super helpful, helped me choose whites and reds. We opened a bottle from Cline, I did not have high hopes. It said Contra Costa on the bottle (where I grew up!). Anyhow, it was fabulous and only $16.99.I am looking FWD to trying the rest and going back!!BTW... sandwich shop is delicious (a few doors down) and bread shop is great too. Lots of little gems in the neighborhood”

“Let's begin with the obvious. The Montgomery County, MD liquor system is widely despised by local residents because the country controls distribution and retailing. That means limited selection, consistently inconsistent levels of service in country stores, and a selection which varies which means you have no reason to be confident that they'll have the same items in every store. And if the country wholesaling system doesn't stock an item, you aren't going to find it in Montgomery Co.So, what's to say that's good. Well, there are some things. First, the prices are pretty good. You can find better deals at Total Wine, where selection is superb, but that's far away either in Virginia or miles away to the east in Maryland. The staffers can be surly or polite, depending on your luck or lack thereof. This particular store is close to downtown Rockville. I've seen customers who've been troublesome enough here to have the police called. There is convenient parking. Tastings can happen here on weekends if you have time and the inclination. Another oddity of the Mont. Co. control. This store doesn't have cold beer. I asked one time why that was, and the answer was that a business across the street sold it. Because I found that to be a ridiculous answer/situation, I decided it wasn't worth pursuing. It was also the case that the particular staffer I was speaking with wasn't in control of that. Finally, they don't "advertise" but the store can get unusual items (like a rare bourbon or something else) so if that's of interest, ask about it. There is a good selection of local products here from MD, VA.”

“I have lived at Dolley Madison for over 20 years and love this market. Its small, but for its size, they have a good variety of items. One thing I would like to see them do is yank out the Blue Bunny Ice Cream, errr Blue Bunny Frozen Dairy desert freezer and sell REAL ice cream, and not the frozen dairy desert garbage. I have a recommendation, a brand that is local to the east coast, been around for years and really needs more places in NoVa to carry the brand.HERSHEYS ICE CREAM.Its REAL Ice cream, they have great ice cream, and ice cream novelties. They have a great variety of products and with the limited amount of places that sell it, if you were to sell it and word got out, it will sell, it will be a successful switch. Look at Vienna Drug Store. They are ALWAYS. selling out of MANY of the most popular varieties. I know because I usually buy them out of some of their products on a regular basis. Please support an ice cream company that still believes in ICE CREAM and not one of the many "Frozen Dairy Desert" Companies. But great store, friendly people, good prices and they pack a lot in such a small space.”

“Been shopping here on and off again I think going on twenty years now as I've moved to and from the area (unless they haven't been here that long and it's just my imagination) and I realized I should share how great the staff has always been. They are not pushy but very friendly and will provide excellent recommendations if you need help. In one instance, I said I needed to get a selection of wines for a party, and the staff member asked how many people, what are the preferences that I knew of, and what kind of prices I was looking for, and proceeded to efficiently load me up with a great selection that perfectly fit the need.Beer and wine variety is of course the best in the area. “I try to make it a habit of spending my money in small businesses and when I came across Norms beer and wine I think 20 years ago I began shopping in his store. I discovered all kinds of wonderful beers and he even had a Beer Brewing news magazine. While looking through the magazine I discovered a tournament of beers. I immediately went ahead and played the tournament trying all the beers against each other and I came to discover that Old Chubb Scotch Ale was the best of them all. Thank you Norm. “Off the beaten path, this clean, well-lighted ABC store features a decent selection, frequent mark downs, and friendly staff who can connect you with your favorites or help you choose the booze you need for a new cocktail or party liquor stash. In the Harris Teeter Pender Campus strip, you'll miss this location if you blink while driving by. Maybe that is why it is never crowded and I always feel I can leisurely peruse the shelves without pressure if getting out of the way of other shoppers. Last year for our Halloween party, the patient attendant searched inventory in several stores to locate a couple bottles of black vodka for one of the seasonally themed drinks we were serving. He then called the other store and asked them to set aside the bottles and have them waiting for us. Other times, I've just brought in a list of spirits needed to make specialty cocktails and the attendant has gone to the shelves and brought the items to the counter--in essence doing my shopping for me. I really couldn't ask for better customer service.”
