Poor customer service. They’re happy to take your money, but when you call for a status a month later when the order is supposed to be ready, they don’t want to talk give you any time. Instead they say, “We’ll call you.” Location in North Arlington is much better.

I purchased fabric here and they came to measure my windows. I paid $250 for the measurements. I asked them for the measurements I had paid for. I asked many times. They promised to email it to me. Today they said it has been over a year since they measured and they have disposed of it. I have been through this 3 times with Calico Corners. The manager was also extremely rude. I will never use Calico Corners in great falls again.Services: Window design

In the past, Calico Great Falls had been a very good experience. Pat had helped me with bed and window treatments in my old house. I don't know if it was the fact that I had 4 bedrooms in a new house to do or if the problems stem from the store manager Donald, but this time they disappointed beyond expectations. 1. After initially telling me that I could use some old fabric (which I brought in to the store from prior house) in the new curtains to tie the old and new together, I was phoned some weeks later and told that they didn't have enough - I'd have to buy something new. When I said they should cancel the order then, they suddenly 'found' enough fabric. 2. I was told I could use my existing rods (which I showed the decorator) but when the drapes arrived the grommets were too small, necessitating purchase of new rods, and an installation that I had to do myself. 3. A fabric that I was told would work as a 'splash' of color was a disaster. After the chair was reupholstered, I had to move it to another room - that bad. 4. After being called and told everything was in and demanding payment, the installer did not have one shade, and in fact it had not even been ORDERED, although I had paid for it. 5. Installation problem #1: with 4 rooms and the designer not there for install, the installer had no idea what he was doing. I had to pull out my paperwork from 2+ months before, and even then he didn't have everything with him and did some things wrong. He never communicated with me as to placement of some valences - just put them up, and I will now have to remove them and move to a level that I would prefer. He put tie back hardware on a window that clearly did not match and in fact was not the correct window for it - they belonged in another room. I removed and patched/painted the holes. 6. Installation problem #2: Installer arrived on a second day, - approximately 4-5 weeks later, with supposedly everything he was supposed to have. After talking to him on the first install, calling my designer AND talking with the store manager TWICE about an extension wand for blinds (once the DAY BEFORE the second install), he still did not have it. I STILL cannot reach the blind control. Because he had put the tie back hardware on the wrong window, he installed curtains at the incorrect place. I had patched his mistakes from the last time and now have about 10 holes to sand and repaint in another wall. Truly, for the amount I paid I expected better quality control and service than this. I initially started this project in August and it is still not right, more than 5 months later. The communication in the store between manager, designer and installer seems extremely poor. The just want to get your money and then they don't really seem to care. There were more problems than I have discussed here, but suffice it to say I will not return. A really terrible experience.

The fabric is of good quality and they carry what's in vogue at the time. Most of the time when I am there they are chatting it up with local designers. This DOES leave you time to browse unfettered... plus you get to hear their discussion as you wander around. You may have to work harder to find those colors that aren't the rage. Maybe you can order it?
