I had to make a quick run for some specific ingredients for a recipe and I got stuck. A gentleman named Lamans was stocking shelves and breaking down boxes but stopped to ask if I needed anything. I took him up on it and asked where everything was, he knew most of the random stuff right off the top of his head and then called the deli to verify a specific cheese i was looking for. He turned what would’ve been a long frustrating search into like a 2 minute trip all while still stocking and breaking down boxes on a Saturday. That guy 100% made my day and he’s part of why this is the best grocery store around.

Came here for some wood and a lighter. Lady wouldn’t let me buy the lighter because she was CONVINCED that I needed to be 21 to buy a regular lighter(I’m 20). Went over to family dollar instead and had no problems

This is the second time I have bought a sale item where the sale sign was misleading. Today I bought the shrimp. The sign was on the Jumbo shrimp, (16-20 ct) $5.00 off. Shrimp was 6.99. When the cashier rang it up there was only $1 off. The sign was on the wrong item. It was for the 26-30 bag. Who has time to read the fine print. I didn’t realize the mistake until I got home (22 miles away). The last time there was an issue with Tostito cheese. There was a display of Tostito salsa and cheese, all together. The sign said $4.99, but that was only for the salsa, not the cheese you had to read the fine print again. They need to. Improve their signing and double check that it’s in the right place.

Excellent store, amazing people all throughout from management down
Except for that deli. I bet they could use a couple of different people, and this food lion would become a five-star experience.
Its obvious that a few of them hate their job and take it out on the customer.
Other than that, this place kills it.

Spot on Food Lion, minus the angry old boomers who hate their lives working the deli. They absolutely refuse to shred your ham and if you ask for any help oh man it’s the end of their world. Then I go to check out and the boomer lady at the register refused to talk to me. I could barely get a “Hi”. I asked her how are you doing today and she just glared me down. Haha it laughable.
Love the young kids there and all the other employees. But man your deli is full of hate, I’m going to go to short pump for my deli needs. Pretty wild stuff I bet the kids up front would work the deli, just an idea…

I'm changing my review due to the young man who works the night shift. This youngin is always a weirdo when I come into the store. God forbid I happen to come in 10 - 15 minutes before closing to grab a last-minute item. He has followed me around the store, stares uncomfortably and one time, while at the self checkout, he walked repeatedly around me an the registers, making a figure 8, until I abruptly asked him to stop. All of that would make anyone uncomfortable. The night crew is much, much different than the day shift.
