Wonderful front desk staff! Everyone was so friendly and took such good care of our new family members. Our Pomsky was their first and they made her feel so comfortable. Neither puppy cried during their vaccinations. The veterinary doctor was pleasant and very proactive about making sure our puppies didn't have any side effects from their shots.
It was a very nice experience!

I wouldn’t take my dog anywhere else. Dr. Bates is thorough, informative, and patient. The staff is always helpful and pleasant to chat with. Taking my dog to the vet is NOT stressful with Abingdon Animal Clinic!

Like other reviews this clinic is expensive compared to others. Our bill was $800 for a couple allergy test & some medications (previous vet was NOTHING close to that & we also did not have to pay $43 for a nail trim). They are upfront with the bill before treatment which is nice I suppose. Dr. Bates is caring but can be crude and tends to ramble jibberish a lot.My biggest concern is how my dog was put on a new medication and then suddenly passed just two days later due to sudden congestive heart failure. Dr. Bates had listened to her heart and said it was fine! She had been her complete normal self up until I gave her the medication she was prescribed. I was told at my appointment no blood test/xrays or anything was needed for her at this point. I should’ve followed my gut and asked for it anyway. After looking into the antihistamine she was put on, I feel as a more thorough exam should’ve been done due to her age before prescribing her the medication. I am 100% confident that if I had not given her the medication she would still be alive. I’m so devastated.

Love Dr Bayes and his team.This was by far the best experience I have had with my 3 yr old Boston Terrier. She was more comfortable than I have ever seen.We were not rushed and everything was explained in detail. Highly recommend and appreciate!

We love Dr. Bates and the team. They are helpful, knowledgeable, and very friendly. We have had two of our family dogs over the years see Dr. Bates and have never been disappointed. Whenever I have called with questions or needed to get our dog in quickly they have accommodated us with no issues. There have been reviews discussing cost here on google. I will just say that I would rather pay more (if I am) for Dr. Bates' 35 years of vet experience than to go to someone without his knowledge base who charges less. Love Abington Animal Clinic and the service they provide to me as a human and our fur baby.

Very highly priced. Get an estimate of services before pet is seen. Dr is friendly but will talk your leg off (ha).

Bought a Boxer from a breeder that was checked out by this place. They said stage 2 heart murmur. We bought it with our 4 year old because the risk was minimal. Take it to our vet 2 days later and our vet said out of 1-6 this heart murmur is a 4-5 and that bad there is a good chance it could be heart disease, boxers are known for this. This place Vet-Tech Jennifer didn’t mention heart disease to us. So I call this place the lady at the front desk looks up notes and verified we was only told about stage 2 murmur. She said there was like 7 dogs brought in so they could’ve missed it. They transfer me to Jennifer who claims to be a vet turns out from info I’ve received she is a vet tech and the only certified vet there is a man. She said I was Crazy her actual words! Boxers aren’t known for heart problems when i informed this ignorant girl of BOXER cardio-myopathy she still denied it! She is an outright disrespectful liar. She represents this place so they are disrespectful liars! Don’t take your dog/ant/rat/cat/ flea here they deserve better. This vet tech misrepresenting herself as a vet, lying to me saying boxers aren’t known for this but especially calling me craz. They also missed hookworm too! Awesome job

This place is ridiculous, and take advantage of people and prices. Test a little pee..over. $100. Meds etc follow ups. A pee kit. Literally makes you pay for them to do it..I went outside did it myself.! And if your not able to pay a bill on time for legitimate good reasons. They blow you up constantly and threaten about debt.I never write reviews, but this place is ridiculous and annoying.

You can tell that Dr. Bates and his staff love animals. More importantly, the Doctor took time with us to explain what he was doing in evaluating our new puppy. Dr. Bates has a terrific bedside manor with pets and humans.
