We cannot say enough about the great work Richmond Import Services provided us. The dealership had put a DOA sticker on our 2010 Lexus, but Richmond Import brought it back to life. We jokingly asked that they "save our car" and that's exactly what they did. We are so grateful.Services: Auto engine diagnostic

Richmond import service has and continues to be the only shop I trust to take care of my vehicles. They have serviced my vehicles for 20 years and I have been fortunate to eclipse 495000 miles on my Acura MDX, I since have replaced that car with another due to a self inflicted acccident. Prior to that my Lexus es accumulated 450,000 miles before I sold that to buy the Acura.. great service and personal detail!!

Richmond Import Service is the place I trust. I have been a customer for many years and have always received the best service, product, and customer service. Chris and his team do excellent work at a fair and reasonable price. Chris is ethical and honest, a rare virtue in today's world. Ashley at the front desk is extremely knowledgeable and helpful to get a timely appointment. I wouldn't think of taking my car anywhere else.

Totally Bummed. Was looking to establish a partnership with this place after reading all the 5-star reviews. Even discovered I was a returning customer from early 2000s when booking my appointment!! Brought in my 1st Lexus to get engine codes resolved, shook really bad between 40-60mph, and state inspection done. Added all new spark plugs, coolant flush, and transmission fluid replacement. Got a warranty to go along with it. Looking forward to doing more in the future. Have 4 other Toyotas in the barn.Got Lexus back same day. First, noticed plenty of old glue left from the old inspection sticker. Been in the Army long enough to spot lazy. I didn't want to look at that driving to work everyday. I got the gluegone out and cleaned it up.Then the engine code returned a day later. Took my code reader and fixed it myself (small pat on the back). Drove nicely afterwards, still does matter of fact. But, a few days ago, my buddy in the passenger seat noticed an antifreeze smell after a short drive to lunch and back. No way. I popped the hood and there was a the pink stuff at the bottom of the car and along the top of the radiator. I pulled out that warranty pamphlet and it had under "covered" engine cooling system. Figure I'd ask. Put in the request to Richmond Imports.. got an immediate call back... and that's when I knew this wasn't the place for me. "All we did was replaced the coolant" was all this old VET needed to hear. No options presented, no let us take a second look, nothing customer friendly at all. I was only inquiring. She hung up.I thought about all those 5-star reviews that read "been coming here for X years". Was looking forward to adding my name to that list. Maybe I'd been treated differently if I was one of them. Guess we'll never know. The search continues. Be kind and keep your helmet on.Services: Transmission

Totally Bummed. Past reviews sent me here, but I didn't get that level of service I'd read about. Was hoping to get on a maintenance schedule for my Lexus but will be looking elsewhere. Dropped off lexus for diagnosing engine code, shakes at 40-60mph, and a state inspection. Added replacing transmission fluid, coolant flush, and replace all spark plugs. Spent a good amount. The old state inspection sticker residue left behind with new sticker slapped over it, told me a lot. Cleaned it up with some gluegone. Still had the shakes at 40-60Mph. Error codes returned (i fixed using help from youtube). Started leaking coolant. They handed me a warranty that covers engine cooling systems but since they only flushed it, can't use it. Didn't offer any options, nothing. Just hung up. Guess times have changed.

My parent's car had to be towed due to an alternator and then gobbled up battery because of the alternator. Ashley, at the front desk, was very helpful. It was my parent's car, so I didn't want them to be overly charged. Originally, my dad wanted to go to Honda, and Richmond Imports Service price was nearly $400 less. I felt comfortable and confident they were going to treat us right. Thanks, team RIS.

Make sure you get a quote up front and compare to other places. I trusted the owner too much. Spark plug change costs me almost double what Dyke Tire or Mechanicsville Toyota charge for the same service. My fault for not confirming first before the work was done so don't make the same mistake I did. Do yourself a favor and call around....you'll find way better prices. In response to your comment below....I spoke with both of the other garages myself and received the quotes directly from them so your response is just another example of how you fabricate responses to make yourself look more reasonable. Nothing worse than a garage that isn't honest.

Told them on the phone that we had a Kia and it needed a gas gauge replacement. Had to wait two weeks for the appointment. When I came to pick up my car they said they couldn’t do it because they don’t work on Kia? Didn’t really seem apologetic. I guess they don’t understand that people have to take Time off of work to get their car serviced. It also apparently took four hours for an oil change so I could have just gone to jiffy lube. Will not be returning.Maybe they should change Richmond import to Richmond Toyota and Lexus onlyService: Oil change

Had a bad experience with this shop as a whole. At a minimum, poor customer service with the admin and owner. Technicians incorrectly diagnosed a couple issues and were did not pay close attention to detail.Services: General repairs & maintenance

In 2003, we were referred to Richmond Imports to service our 1999 Lexus GS 400. We are still taking the car, now with 225,000 miles, to Richmond Imports. Honest, skilled and easy to work with. HIGHLY recommended! The best!
