I have been going to Springfield Vet for over 22 years. So bummed Dr. Escobar retired, now soon to be Dr. Scotti. I will continue to bring my animals there, but it would be the same. These two Dr. 's very very special and kind Dr's. Excellent vets too! :(

The Vets here are very conscientious, caring, accommodating and have your pets' best interest in mind although a little expensive.

I've used the vets at Springfield for more than 10 years for my cats. Dr. Kilgore helped me with a cat that had terrible issues and he was gentle, kind and caring. I love this practice!

I have stray cats in my backyard and was hoping to bring them into a Vet to make sure they are healthy and possibly take them in. I explained my purpose when I made the appointment and I was not informed that they do not assist in this way. *They happily accepted my payment.* I was called to confirm the appointment and I also told the person that called that I was bringing in "whichever one I could find the morning of". She mentioned nothing about being unable to see a stray cat. I wasn't able to find the cats this AM for the appointment time because they were hiding in the rain. When I called to ask what I should do I was told that it is illegal for them to accept the cat I would be bringing in. So why did they take my money? Why wouldn't the first two people I spoke with have informed me of this? I clearly stated that I was bringing a stray cat in for a check up and wanted to get it altered to control population. I paid for the appointment ahead of time and they are keeping my money even though they do not offer the service I requested.

Dr Shaw is great! We recently moved from California and have been bringing our small terrier mix here. I am an internal medicine physician and I love that Dr. Shaw clearly explains his differential when we present him with our dog with a specific symptom. Some other vets I've had keep the differential very broad and often want to test for various things without good explanation. Dr Shaw is different in that he clearly deduces what is the most likely diagnosis based on a good physical exam and history of presentation. He lays out the options and gives the owner the choice if they want to pursue a more aggressive workup or not, understanding that sometimes it can be expensive. He has great bedside manner and takes the time to explain his reasoning and answer any questions. Overall very glad I finally found a highly competent and reasonable vet for my dog!

If you want a horrible experience with a vet, see Dr. Scotti. I had to see him today because my regular vet was out. His rudeness (twice leaving the room as if he were in a hurry and didn't want to answer my questions or explain things) was only surpassed by his impatience and inability to communicate well. If you want to listen to someone drone on and say the same things over and over without clarifying, if you want someone to make suggestions based on his frustration with not being able to make a good diagnosis, then see Dr. Scotty. Worst experience EVER at a vet. Won't waste my time there ever again.

After moving back to the US from overseas, finding a new vet for our 4 animals was a big thing for me. Our 3 dogs and our cat are family to us. They have traveled the World with us and are spoiled rotten. When my Am Staf Poseidon came down with a nasty hot spot and broke out we called the vet we had been using since we moved here. For 3 days they told me to take him to an emergency vet during business hours. I decided it was time to find a new vet. Springfield was actually recommended to me for repro for my female Am Staf so I called and was given an appointment the next day. Dr. Kilgore is absolutely awesome, he took very good care of Poseidon and fell in love with him. He explained everything to me in a way we could understand. (I'm still waiting to see the selfie he took with Poseidon ) his care didn't stop at the vets office either. He called me every couple days just to make sure Poseidon was doing ok and his medicine was working. The ladies at the front desk are all pleasant and friendly (unlike the ladies at my last vets office, they always had scowls on their faces). I look forward to a long relationship with this office. Highly recommend them!
