The customer service I received when I arrived was poor. Nither of the 2 ladies at the counter knew what they were doing. Check I took forever. I had other clients booked for the same weekend and their experience as well was 1star. They gave one client the wrong and clearly she showed them her reservation. The room she first given wasn't going to accommodate her and her 3 children. Another client was at the counter quit a bit of time only for them to tell her they have issues with booking booked with a credit union payment method. The night attendant seemed to be the only one I would give credit to. I'm a Travel Advisor and I don't think I will stay at this establishment again nor recommend anyone, specifically not this location. No thanks.......

Nice hotel with friendly helpful staff. Bar was open and the bartender was very personable. Good location as there are plenty of food places and bars near by. Try out the tavern downstairs, it was amazing and you get a discount if you show your room key. Room was clean and presentable. We enjoyed our stay:

Had very mixed feelings when I booked my stay here. For what it’s worth, we were traveling with 2 dogs & we found the hotel to be nearly perfect for our needs. The room wasn’t too bad, bathroom could use a bit more attention. And the room did smell like “dog.” We loved the amount of greenery and space there is to walk the dogs. Elevator situation is a tad annoying. Gotta take 2 elevators just to get to and from your room. The staff was nice, and they set out complimentary breakfast snacks for guests.Location is in a quiet community, and the people seem friendly. Lots of dogs. Personally wouldn’t stay here if I wasn’t traveling with dogs. But anytime I’m traveling with dogs, Aloft will be my first choice.

Great location. Walking distance to a lot of things. Room: found a dirty sock under the seating under the TV, bandaid covering the door stopper where the shower door handle hits the wall. Balled up tissue caught one the sliding door to the shower area. Could had a better view. Staff friendly. Bar happy hour 5 to 12. Cute little game area. Gotta pay for food, no free breakfast here.

Im in the Richmond area often and decided to try this hotel. Overall the experience was okay, but for the price I expected a little more hospitality and comfort. Would stay again if I had no other options. Good:- cool atmospheric lobby with games and a bar- clean rooms that had a modern aesthetic Things to Consider:- the lobby had an INTENSE smell. It was almost like lilac was blasted in the air vents. Yes, there were some things to do like play pool, but I couldn't be in there more than 5 minutes without getting a headache. - rooms have paper thin walls. We heard every door that closed and anytime the elevator opened. Could hear people talking in the next room. A dog was barking for three hours and it felt like it was right in my ear. - the phone was broken, but eventually figured it out enough to call for an extra pillow. Staff told me to come down to the lobby to get it....- they charged me over $500 for "insurance" that would be refunded after 3-5 days. That's over double the price of the room for one night, which to me is unheard of

This was my first time staying at Aloft && it did not disappoint! The hotel is modern and has such a welcoming atmosphere! The hotel offers grab and go snacks, food and drinks conveniently right by check in. The employees were so friendly. I stayed in a double room for a work trip; the room was clean and very cozy! I loved how the bedroom had a clear separation from the bathroom area and the bench below the television offered the perfect place to unload my suitcase. I love that they ditched the frumpy big blankets of hotels past and went with all white linen. I like the modern appearance and the walk in shower, sink and just the overall appearance. The room had all the basics of a blow dryer, coffee maker, ample storage space and an ironing board with iron. The hotel itself offers creative art work and has a bar in house. I checked in Monday night and checked out Wednesday morning. The hotel was quiet and close to various restaurants, bars and shops. There was free parking in the adjacent garage and in lots nearby, but I had no issue parking right at the hotel. I highly recommend Aloft if you are looking for a modern, quiet and clean stay in the Richmond area.

This is my first (and last time) staying at an aLoft. The room was dark and dirty. The bathroom also wasn’t very clean. The soap dispenser was empty. The room had a dorm room like feel. Def not staying here again.

This hotel was a great find. I typically stay at another Marriott property nearby but I had to bring my dog with me on this trip, so I landed here. The rooms could use a little updating but overall, I was extremely pleased with my stay, the service, and the location. Lots of restaurants and shops within walking distance and tons more nearby. They had free salsa dancing lessons that Saturday night which was a plus. It was free for hotel guest, and I "think" it was $5 for the public. The drinks at the bar were great and we enjoyed the pool table in the lobby. I would definitely go back.

We’ve stayed here a few times with our dog and couldn’t be happier. The hotel is very clean, no signs of other dogs having been in the rooms, and it’s quiet. The hotel is located next to a quiet townhome community with a ton of restaurants and walking paths.

So disgusting. First bad review I've left, but hopefully it will spare someone else what I went through. Nasty Mold in the ice bucket so ice is provided in zip lock bags--why not remove the moldy ice bucket from the room? I had to put it in the sink. Poop stains in the non air conditioned hallway, laundry room out of service, pool closed, housekeepers afraid of dogs to the point of hiding behind a cart.... SMH Then I saw the cockroaches and I was OUT

Our family unexpectedly ended up in Short Pump, VA for a few days when our minivan needed repair to make it home from our North Carolina vacation to our home in Buffalo, NY. We booked the Aloft hotel in Short Pump because of its prime location and accessibility to restaurants and attractions that are within walking distance of the hotel. Our room was VERY clean, the shower water pressure was AMAZING, the beds were very comfortable, the view was beautiful and allowed us to watch a fantastic lightning show one night when it decided to downpour. We enjoyed the breakfast that was available in the lobby area- my favorite was the OG BEC breakfast sandwich and the oat milk cold brew! My kids loved playing pool and Jenga in the lobby, and there is also a hotel bar available. The hotel staff was incredibly friendly, professional, accommodating, and helpful during our stay. They were very understanding of our unfortunate situation and were able to allow us to have a late check out time so we could pick up our car when it was finally finished being serviced. We could not have chosen a better hotel for our stay! Short Pump receives a fist pump!Rooms: The room we stayed in was substantially sized, very clean, beds were very comfortable, and the bathroom and vanity area was a nice size and very nice for getting ready!Walkability: The hotel was within close proximity to many restaurants, stores, and attractions. The area was very dog-friendly. We loved being able to take our 3 children to check out the area.

This hotel has not been properly maintained. Multiple lights that are out from the elevators to the hallways as well as lights in the room. Had a maintenance issue with the first room so was moved to a second room that also had maintenance issues. The online pictures are incredibly deceiving, I would not recommend this hotel.
