Just stopped in for a quick lunch. Cody the manager really saved the day when I accidentally got blue cheese on an item. There is a reason everyone loves this place. The customer service is amazing. Thank you Cody!

Most racist experience I have ever had, outside of Walmart
I have been shopping at this location for at least a decade. I have been using self-checkout forever and I frequently see the same self-checkout team members all the time and we even exchange pleasantries. Today, however, there was a second woman there and she was incredibly rude. I have never seen her before. As soon as I walked up, she stared at me. The entire time I was there she stared at me. The person next to me needed help and was talking to her and she didn't even hear them the first time they called her l because she was SO busy staring at me.
When I asked her, why she was staring and if she wanted to check something on my register, she stated I hadn't rung up the reusable bag I picked up, I said because I hadn't used it yet and wasn't sure I would need it. But even then, to satisfy her staring, I rung it up. Which didn't matter, she still just stared and stared. It's a busy Sunday afternoon, every self check out was full with ppl, but I was the only person of color checking out at that time and I was the only person she stared at. I felt uncomfortable and insulted.
Honestly, since I am a person of color, I always try to use a self-check out near the staff so they actually can see what I am doing. So I am aware that I will be subjected to more stares but this was beyond and excessive. I felt targeted, disrespected and uncomfortable. She was staring so hard, other ppl started staring to see what she was looking at. I am not a spectacle. It was awful. I almost just left all my items and went to Harris Teeter up the road. The only reason I did not, was because I have never had such a negative experience in this store and I don't presume to think everyone is like her. She may be a terrible person but she doesn't necessarily represent all the staff or store.
I went to customer service and asked for a manager, the young lady at the desk asked me why and I explained and pointed out the individual who made me so uncomfortable; she wrote it down. She said that she would escalate the issue and have someone speak to her. Hopefully, they will.
She needs more training or at least learn how to hide her hate better. Smh.

I go there for pastry, sliced turkey, ground beef. Everything is so fresh. If u don't like what u purchased, the customer service is so friendly u can always return! This place is my absolute favorite place to go on weekends and have either breakfast - coffee with fresh croissant or sit at the small lunch burger place and enjoy food while I am actually half way shopping inside the store ! Buffet is really good and food is better than any other buffet ( whole foods buffet sucks). I recommend this place. Try to go on week days if u want less crowds.
However, I would like to mention that customer service at the deli - for sliced meat was pretty bad. The older women is pretty rude. I went with my kid to get some Kobe meat, the section where pre-sliced meat didn't have it. I asked the older lady yesterday whether she has Kobe, she gave me a lecture that "I should ask a question only at the register, as she is not sure if I was the first customer". I thought for a second - she saw no one behind me, lecturing me like this won't help because I wouldnt have ask a question if there were more custormers ahead of me. I felt that she didnt like minorities because when she saw me she didnt come to the front just stared and thats the reason I went to the pre-sliced section. Too bad - that these places probably dont train individual employee for best customer service.

The cashier was rude, made me bag my own groceries and had major attitude. Definitely not the usual Wegmans experience. Very disappointed.

Large selection and good quality, but EXPENSIVE!! The cost is much higher than other grocery stores. Wegmans is definitely a specialty trip and not an every week grocery run!

Rude, nasty workers. A woman called Suzy was entitled enough to openly ridicule customers. The store could not care less, as long as they are making profits they will keep bringing inept and abusive people into the community without any apologies. They don't deserve customers. Hopefully they will leave and go back to New York.

Worst Wegmans ever, they treat customers differently and at times you can feel some of employees are racist,Twice I encountered rude behavior at this store, their managers are the worst and are horrible with providing customers service, at the self help I had problem measuring and the attendee had such a rude attitude and gave me such a hard time, another time I went to return something and I was told if I am not club member, they will not do return even though I had the recipt, this place catered to mostly whites and they hire mostly white folks

Wegmans is always a delight to visit. Fruit and veggies are fresh, actually everything is fresh. The customer service is wonderful and it's clean. I highly recommend it.

I love Wegman's. Have since they opened in this Gainesville location 15 years ago. The food and shopping experience is still top notch but I'm "dinging" them for taking out "The Buzz". I used to love to stop in almost every morning and get a specialty coffee to start my day off on a "high" note (caffeine wise). And I learned the names of all the Baristas working the morning shift. As a retiree, I can't emphasize how enjoyable it was to have a two minute conversation with the variety of friendly staff while they created my morning brew. Alas, due to a corporate decision, they have closed the coffee shop and replaced it with cold, unfriendly machines! My first attempt to use one resulted in having to call staff because it was "out of milk". And even when it works, there is no whipped cream or chocolate drizzle that used to be added by the happy staff that used to work here. I'll still use Wegman's for their quality food. But man, I really miss "The Buzz".
