I recently switched and started seeing Dr. Melaku as my PCP. So far, he has been exceptional.
He is personable, shows care, does not rush through, answers all the questions carefully, provides needed medication, and also recommends ways to be healthy without medicine.
After stumbling around to find a good PCP in Gainesville, I might have found the right doctor for me.

I’ve had Dr.Tang for 6 years now and have had nothing but good experiences there. Those 1 star comments on billing issues - the employees there are not responsible for that. The person in the lab is always pleasant to talk to. The front staff seemed hurried so I don’t know if they are understaffed or just don’t want to be there but Dr Tangs service has been exceptional.

Dr. Hammonds is my General Practitioner for many years. She is always prepared for a visit, listens patiently to questions, and gives clear answers. Nurse Evans courteously gives directions from procedure to procedure. My recent experience with several front desk personnel is excellent; as a team they give quick answers and/or go and find an answer for me.

I have been seeing Dr. Tang since i was about 15, I'm 27 now, I've never had any issues until UVA bought the practice. I am constantly over billed, being told my medication regimen has to change because “thats how uva does things” after ten years on the same medication, rude front desk staff, as well as never having any appointment availability anymore. IF YOURE LOOKING FOR A NEW DOCTOR DO NOT GO HERE YOU WILL BE NOTHING BUT UPSET

If I could give them 0 stars I would. Dr. Tang is more concerned with his vacation days than patients. I waited weeks for this appointment and his receptionist calls and says he needs to reschedule sorry....okay that fine but guess what its more than a month out once again, thats unacceptable because this isnt the first time he has done this. This appointment was very important. The worst primary care doctor to possibly go to.

I've been going to this doctor for 10+ years, in the past few years the support staff have become terrible, do not care for patients, and are enough of a reason to avoid at all costs. My entire family one by one has stopped going to this clinic because of the support staff. AVOID AT ALL COSTS.

My first visit. In the two years since I've been in Warrenton this is by far the best Physicians office I've been to. The facility is clean, the staff was friendly and professional and my nurse practitioner was fantastic. She was extremely thorough and informative. She took the time to do a deep dive into my medical history and did extensive diagnostics. I was worried about seeking medical care from this practice due to all of the bad reviews but fortunately my experience was great. I'll be using them as my primary doctor.

Tried to schedule an appointment on the web via their site, all providers showed "The provider is not currently taking online appointments." Why have an option to schedule if that is not the case. With both of us wearing masks and being vaccinated, I took my daughter in to try and get an appointment, was told no walk-ins (my bad did not know that). Spoke with the receptionist to try and get an appointment. Receptionist #1 asked for the issue, provided the information. Some symptoms line up with COVID, totally understand that. Explained we thought the same, so had a COVID test with negative results, also that daughter was fully vaccinated. Circular conversation with receptionist #1 regarding having to have a video appointment, fine I will do a video appointment. While setting up the appointment receptionist #1 asked receptionist #2 for the length of time the provider needed for video appointment, at which time receptionist #2 began a circular conversation regarding could be COVID and should go and call in from the car.
I understand COVID precautions, but this is a health care provider who should understand: 1) patient is fully vaccinated and 2) patient just had a negative COVID test. These two factors limit the possibility of a COVID case to a minimal possibility, which was why we were trying to schedule an appointment to begin with. We probably had more chance of contracting COVID from the location with no plexiglass screens than we would to go shopping without a mask. The level of customer care is ridiculously low as provided by the receptionists. We have had good patient care there in the past, but this makes me rethink our choice of family practitioner.

This was my second and also the last visit. In both instances, the doctor and RN were great. The problem was the front desk. The first time, the staff checking me in misunderstood and thought was Covid-positive. She started hyperventilating. Today, upon my entrance, Emily looked at me and yelled "Name!". No good morning or any such pleasantries. She asked me if I was experiencing any Covid symptoms. I said no. She felt it necessary to ask again, this time listing the symptoms. Her tone of voice changed; got louder, very condescending. My answer was the same. Upon receiving my second Covid shot, I intended to make an appt for the physical. After this exchange, I will find some other physician. No way I'm putting up with this rudeness.

I dont really have any complaints about the Dr's or staff, everyone has always been really nice when I have been there. My issue stems from their complete lack of care for any problem that is an immediate need. If I have a sinus infection today, I dont want an appointment in a week or two. I have never had a Doctor office not reserve spots for same day/immediate need. Their advice was to go to urgent care if it was so bad. OK, so maybe I do have a staff complaint... but what is the point of them if I can never get in when I need. I am done, finding a new doctor now.

Incompetent and unfriendly... find another primary care office...

The front staff and nurse that took vitals were extremely cold and unfriendly. You would think they were forced to be there. Christy Maxwell was nice and had a pleasant bedside manner, however she did leave notes in my chart that were inaccurate (i.e listing discussions/topics that did not occur). The nurse, I cannot remember her name, that works in the lab that performed my blood test was very friendly. Overall this was a very poor experience mainly due to the front staffs poor attitude and I would not recommend it to others.

I've been going here for 15 years. Staff and doctors/nurse practitioners are excellent, responsive, and have been available even during the pandemic through remote video consults. Thank you BRFP!
