Buckle up, this is gonna take a minute. I recently moved to a new house run on propane. Thankfully the old owners had vacated and left a decent amount in the tank. But with winter approaching and propane getting low it was time for a refill. After no less than a half dozen calls, and several emails we finally got a contract. Turns out despite spelling things out using the NATO phonetic code my email was being spelled wrong. The company wouldn't fill my tank without "testing" the system. Not a huge deal, but nobody told me it was gonna cost me $150 for the test. Next, they missed the first refill appointment and I had to call to get it rescheduled a couple days later. Finally, they made it out and refilled the tank. Except that when we were leaving the house later that day we noticed that one of the lights in the yard that outlines the drive was missing. Best guess is either the tech broke it and removed the evidence OR he removed it to run the house and didn't put it back.So to recap...1. Couldn't even give them $2. Communication is average at best3. Watch for undisclosed fees4. If you don't monitor the schedule they won't either5. Check your yard/belongings post visitIf I could leave 0 stars, I would. Only positive is the folks on the phone are personable even if they aren't great listeners.

We've been customers since 2013.Never missed a payment. Roofers damaged the propane line and we had to have it shut off.It cost 3000 usd to repair the line and then 600 dollars to fill the tank back up.Suburban filled it and drove away.Tried the gas and nothing worked. Called the plumber service and they said that there was no connection between the tank and the new line they had installed.Called suburban to ask what the problem was and they said that they were going to have to charge us $140 to connect the tank to the house.Ludacris. Why wasn't that charged included with the fill up? Why didn't the billing technician hook it to the house?Come and take your tank then. Oh $140 to take the tank? Plus a dollar a gallon to take the propane back.At this point we told the CSR to put us in touch with whoever is in charge. They said they're going to try and take care of it.One star review until rectified.

IF YOU WANT GOOD SERVICE AND RELIABILITY DO NOT CHOOSE SUBURBAN! I WAS PREPARING TO SELL MY HOUSE AND CALLED TO HAVE MY TANK REMOVED. FIVE MONTHS AND MULTIPLE CALLS LATER IT FINALLY WAS TAKEN AWAY FOLLOWED BY A BILL FOR $150 FOR REMOVING THEIR TANK! THIS COMPANY HAS HIDDEN FEES AND HORRIBLE SERVICE! I BEGGED THEM TO TAKE THE TANK BEFORE THE NEW OWNERS MOVED IN AND THEY DID NOT. NOW I HAVE TO FIX THE GRASS THEY DESTROYED! HORRIBLE PEOPLE THERE...UNLESS YOU'RE GIVING THEM MORE MONEY!DO YOURSELF A FAVOR...CALL AMERIGAS!

We have been with Suburban Propane since 2004. Reliable and great service. Recently had a bill problem which Denice handled professionally and even saved me some money! I really appreciated the personal service when I needed it, rather than never ending automated prompts. Thank you, Denice!

Came 15 minutes after they were supposed to be open but the only people there were laborers who told me there was supposed to be a lady here to charge me to fill my tanks. I waited another 15 minutes for her to show then left. The place looks like it's falling apart, and no one can be bothered to show up to their office on time. I'd say this place is on its last legs.

Customer service has gone downhill for me. Nobody ever seems to be working at the Gainesville office. They tell you to fill your tanks in Thursdays but then aren’t available to assist you. It’s hot or miss with them. Additionally, they will entice you with a low price offer to buy propane and increase the price without offering any custom loyalty specials. Do your homework before choosing Suburban propane.

After a HORRIBLE several years as an Amerigas customer, we have had nothing but a wonderful experience with Suburban. It's so nice to feel like a valued customer. They are responsive to requests and handle our "issues" promptly. Thank you Suburban!

I have been a customer of Suburban Propane for almost 20 years. They supply propane for my home heating. I have come close to running out of propane at least five times. I don't know why it is up to me to check my tank two days before Christmas, to find my propane level almost at zero, and then have to arrange an emergency delivery which does not come right away (I use about the same amount of fuel each year so my consumption is predictable). I have had it up to here, and am moving to another company. I need someone who values my business, not someone who takes it for granted. I suggest shopping around before using Suburban Propane. I have found I can not count on them. When shopping fuel prices I find that I can save a lot of money, my new propane company charged 20% less than Suburban on their first fill. I am one of those really loyal customers who don't like to change vendors all that much but I had no choice this time and am glad I have finally switched to someone else (who admittedly I have no track record with). Bottom line, shop around.
