30 minutes ago, I walked into Gainesville navy federal because i found out my debit card info had been stolen through a fake USPS message. ( I know I know rookie mistake but I had just got a PO box two days ago so I fell for the trap). I walked into an almost empty navy fed, got in the non existent line and was welcomed by a delightful new front desk lady. I explained the situation and we were getting it all figured out while at the same time getting my old address when the address change was having some trouble, so the front desk lady asks for some additional help from another lady whom I had already had issues with in the past. She came over and said she couldn't do anything because of my voided ID. So I went to my car and grabbed my paper given by dmv as a ID verifier. She then started laughing and saying she couldn't help me. She proceeded to tell me I had to go through the app and call navy federal for a new card, so I asked " if you are using the same bank software, why would I have to call navy federal when I'm already here, why use an app when I'm standing INSIDE OF THE BANK ITSELF" she deflected the questions and continued telling me to call the bank for a new card. I asked "OK so I can go outside and call and be back in for my new card?" She told me no and went back to laughing. I made it aware that nothing was funny, my card information had been stolen and she was telling me to practically screw off and hope for the best. I proceeded to ask OK if you will not give me a new card then I'd like to withdraw all funds from my account and join a bank elsewhere. To which she responded with a giggle "sorry sir you can't do that". I've never had more piss poor service in my life. My card info is still stolen and I can't withdraw my money and get a new bank and card,no point freezing the card cause I have bills to pay, so I have a week till dmv send me my new ID in the mail meaning hackers have a week to spend all my money and whatnot. Good job navy federal, not only do your investigations into stolen money go absolutely nowhere, but you also HELP the criminals more than your loyal clients.
so for anybody looking into banking with navy federal please take this into account.

I love NFCU for its quality of service. However, our experience today with a banking agent Lisa wasn’t pleasant, to say the least. She was contemptuous and not quite in a mood to help. When people take time from their busy schedule and then wait in the line to see an agent, it’s often for the fact that they need some guidance and help, all other things can very well be handled online/phone these days. We didn’t get what we were hoping from this particular person and the experience wasn’t at par with the NFCU standards

The bank manager is incredibly lazy and rude. You will get no answers or anything done at navy federal in general but this manager and location really shows you how bad it is.

Who do you even report things that need improvement to? Nobody cares or can or will do anything about passing anything on. The ATM sucks.. only 30 bills and one slow check at a time. The interface is terrible now and the delay between buttons is the worst. This bank is also the slowest for their servers and all computer processing down to ATM is longer than other branches. Not to mention minimal indicator of being open as they darkened the outside so much through the window you can't even tell if anyone is inside or there.

I've been in Banking for 20+ years. Just went in to get a cashier's check. I processed a balance transfer from my other institution about a week and a half ago. It took a long time for the check to get to Navy. They deposited the check into my account yesterday. I went to the Navy Federal Credit Union branch in Gainesville thinking if I showed them where the funds were sent from and based on my relationship with Navy Federal Credit Union, they could release the hold. In banking and CU world, this happens all the time. I figured that with loans and an active credit card with a pretty decent limit, they could make this courtesy hold release. Trust me, O do this at my own Financial Institute ALL THE TIME. It felt like the lady did not know what she was doing or did not want to do a simple courtesy look up of my account and see that the check that I wanted was for much less than what Navy's loss would be, if I were to bounce a check. Simple stuff. At least in the banking world.I even told her that I could charge my credit card right then for much more then what the check hold was for. I guess I'm used to basic member service from well-known FIs and I'm not sure if it was NFCUs policy or lack of service knowledge of the individual, it simply left a bad taste. I know Navy FCU can do better. I now have to go take time off from work and go back to Navy again for this simple transaction.

Your customer service onsite is absolutely horrible. How about everyone gets on the same page regarding who goes to the magical queue or the line or just walks up? Four tellers and no one knows who is serving who.

After 11 years with Navy Federal, 4 of them being active duty Navy, I’m leaving this bank. Absolutely ridiculous processes and red tape for no reason. Been trying to add my wife who has the same last name and address as me for a month and for no reason they can not get her membership or accounts set up. I’m moving my checking accounts from here and refinancing every loan I have for them. They’ll never see another dollar from me.

I like the convenience of branches being available when traveling. The employees were nice. Any time I need a new bank card, I can go into any branch and have a card printed while I wait.

Super friendly staff! The banker who assisted me with my wire transfer was super personable and patient with me while I navigated the forms. The whole team seemed to work well together and made it a good, low stress experience.
