Very polite staff. Some rooms under renovation but they do a good job at keeping it quiet.

Nice and clean. Fairly priced with a friendly staff. Once construction ends, 5 stars are within reach. Eggs could be much better in the morning for breakfast. I did enjoy the convenience store in the lobby.

2024 Update: Friendly staff, updated all-around, and a fabulous free breakfast make the Hampton Inn Front Royal a place I'd revisit in a minute. The price was slightly above the best Internet rate but still a great value, especially if you take advantage of the breakfast that was piping hot and ready at the top of the hour of 6 AM. Rooms and hallways were fresh, and there's a mini convenience store in the lobby where you can find snacks, drinks and even an ice cold Yuengling or other beer. McDonalds and a convenience store with gas pumps are walking distance. Upgrading to 5 stars on the basis of the complete makeover at a fair price and because every single staff person we encountered was friendly and helpful.
2021 Review excerpts that still apply: Awkward parking lot. Go somewhere else if you're trailering.

We stayed one night had two rooms for Seton Graduation. Appreciate the room rates!!
Second, appreciate putting our family adjoining, I did not request that as I just thought we would get what we get especially for one night. So thank you!!
I’d like to send a shoutout to the lady who ran the kitchen breakfast area on June 23rd. Her name is Teresa. She was VERY kind to my daughter who is special needs. I like to give my daughter distance to a degree in certain spaces and I tend to notice things from afar. As my daughter was getting eggs she brought a fresh pan out. She put the pan down to help her get her breakfast. You can tell that if my daughter asked for it, she was accommodating. My daughter asked for chocolate milk which you didn’t have. Teresa didn’t skip a beat and then thought for a minute (meanwhile still making sure breakfast was plentiful for the crowd), and offered to get her a hot chocolate instead. Which she enjoyed!!
I went to leave and thank her for just being extremely sweet to my daughter, for coming down to her level and showing my daughter respect. No matter how busy she was (and she was busy), she was not once annoyed by having to help her. Nor get snippy with my daughter asking about things which she does a lot of. Most people do lose their patience. Teresa made sure to even warn her that the sausage may be too spicy FOR HER. She didn’t want her to grab something that my daughter would not like…again making sure the guest was happy! When we were about to depart, I popped my head in the kitchen and I didn’t get a chance to say thank you since she was scrubbing pans and cleaning. I did not want to interrupt her. I did however notice her working her buns off to make sure the needs of each of the guests were met. So thank you Teresa, your genuine kindness goes a long way!!
The front desk staff, whoever checked us in was very sweet and professional. Everything ran smoothly. Met with nothing but smiles as we passed housekeeping in elevators and hallway. The rooms are kept clean and added bonus of a mini fridge and microwave that served us well after leaving a dance at 10:30 and running to Walmart for heat and eat dinner.
Unfortunately the pool is under Reno, my daughter so wanted to swim. This did not or does not affect my review as it’s a much needed Reno and perhaps also do appreciate that since it is to ensure property maintenance.
Anyway from Georgia….Two thumbs up ya’ll!!

Needed a room for 1 night 2 adults and our dog on June 13. They quoted me over 300 dollars and that's with AAA and senior discount. Way to expensive! And no pool and under reconstruction.

Enjoyed everything this hotel had to offer, other then the pool it was closed for renovation which most of the hotel is. The breakfast was better than expected with 2 different waffle makers and waffle batter. The dinning area was large and very clean. Rooms had comfortable bedding and nice clean bathrooms. Nice water presure. Will definitely be stay at this hotel in the future.

Hotel is being renovated and our room was Gorgeous! I was so excited when I saw it.
Then when we went to bed that evening the bed was Horrible! It was so hard neither of us could get comfortable and we tossed and turned the entire night waking totally exhausted and unrested.
They need to put mattress toppers on the beds! Then they would be 5 stars.

Friendly helpful staff, but worn down hotel, A/C not working right, hottest water temp is luke warm. Be aware they allow pets, so don't be surprised if you get an early barking wakeup.

Our room was great. Location we need was fine. Hotel conditions was fine, but they are going through renovation big time.
Made our reservation 2 months ago. On day visit, and 3 hours into trip was called. Overbooked... asked us room upgrade. Fine as long it bottom floor. Hostess said we will assign one on bottom floor. I looked at my app hour later, saw bottom floor took a snapshot of it.
Well.. well get there. Assign top floor. Oh, we do not see that room on our end.
The only reason I gave 2 stars not 1, was call conversation I held. Desk staff... do not change room to unhappy person.. to inconvenience another customer.

Hampton Inns are our choice of hotels. They are almost always excellent. But this one was exceptional. The whole place was clean, attractive, the room had no defects we could find at all. The breakfast was great. We are VERY glad we stayed there!

We had a freshly-renovated room, which was awesome.
Unfortunately, pool was still under construction (which we didn’t know in advance)
Everything is getting renovated so there is construction work undergoing.
Nearby to North Entrance of Shenandoah National Park.
Breakfast was good, but unfortunately only single-use cutlery, so not eco-friendly.
Rooms: after construction modern and new! comfy
Nearby activities: Shenandoah National Park
Walkability: right next to the highway

In town for a funeral.
Did not spend much time in the room.
If they are still renovating when you stay there, ask for a renovated room.
Pretty standard Hampton Inn breakfast.
Rooms: In the middle of a renovation, ask for a renovated room.
Safety: Dark parking lot.
Walkability: Not. This is a just off the highway hotel. You can't t really walk anywhere.
Food & drinks: Free breakfast was standard Hampton Inn.
