“It's a shame that you can only give five stars. This place is beyond wonderful. The friendly welcoming atmosphere made me feel at home the moment I walked in. Something is going on almost every evening. They have cold beer and a small but tasty menu. I am thankful to have found a place I can relax after working out of town and take my mind off the daily grind. When I walk in I am greeted by genuine smiles and firm handshakes. It's located in a beautiful town seated in Shenandoah valley. It is possibly the most beautiful part of America. I don't know if there is a heaven or not but if there is, it can't be much better than this.”

“Perfect location with gorgeous views in a valley by Shenandoah National Park and AT. There’s a blue trail between the buildings by the parking lot near the Pool & Playground, which connects to the Appalachian Trail. As far as I know, there are a huge animal center with fields and many horse stalls, many sports fields, a swimming pool, a beautiful lake, many lodges, conference centers, amphitheaters, picnic areas and more...Yet to try and find out about the lodging and other activities over here. But definitely worth a try!”

“First time visiting to donate items and check out the pets. Facility was much smaller than I was anticipating and at capacity.Staff were friendly and helpful. Dogs and cats are no longer allowed to be socialized unless you have an approved adoption application or are a volunteer, fyi. Many beautiful and friendly cats for adoption for less than $100. Many cats seemed to be two and under.Dog area was overwhelming being narrow cinder block hallways and extremely echoey. My kids, who generally have no issue, could not handle the barking and jumping, esp with the bigger dogs, because of the close proximity and echoes. The noise was to be expected, though. Dog areas are incredibly loud. They had a special room with mini hamsters. One had even given birth that morning and the staff didn't know until my kids went in to look at them. The hamsters were the only pets that were allowed to be handled so they could be adoptable.I would definitely go back to adopt from here or consider volunteering.Four stars only because of the size of the facility and being unable to handle animals due to being short staffed.”
