Brought my dog in for a follow up after a hematoma as a new patient. They were able to squeeze me in last minute. We were in and out in no time, but my dog was well cared for. The staff here definitely treats your pet like their own!

We are very new to this area and had only see one vet at another practice for a routine vaccination. When I called requesting an appointment for our kitty with a suspected UTI I was told it would be a week before they could see her. Not acceptable!! Got the same response from other practices. Finally found St. Francis and was given an appointment the next morning. We saw Dr. Gonzales and she was very thorough with physical exam and bloodwork. It was an UTI as suspected and she put her on antibiotics. We found her to be very professional and friendly as was the staff. She took her time and answered all our questions. We were very happy to find such a nice facility with welcoming and knowledge professionals. Definately recommend St. Francis and Dr. Gonzales.

We had an appointment with Dr. Gonzalez and she had HORRIFIC bedside manner, care for my dog or our feelings as pet owners. After listening to our dogs heart for less than a minute with just a stethoscope, no additional tests, she told us our dog wouldn't see her 8th birthday due to a heart murmur and could "go anytime". In addition, she didn't explain anything of her diagnosis outside of medical terminology that I wasn't familiar with, and when asked to explain further acted as if it was an inconvenience. After a second opinion, we found out our dog just needed to be put on a beta blocker and will live a full healthy life span. We typically see another doctor Dr. Jody at St. Francis and have never had a problem and our dog loved her. We squeezed in for a last minute appointment with Dr. Gonzalez, but after an emotional roller coaster, we will never be seeing her again.

This is the first google review I've written that wasn't first prompted by the business itself (all of my reviews are my legit opinions, I just don't leave them unless asked). We adopted a 3 year old shelter dog a little over a week ago who spent the first half of his life in a dog meat farm overseas and then spent the next 1.5 years in the shelter after being brought to the US. While the shelter took amazing care of him during his time there, he understandably has some anxiety, on top of just being brought to a new home and still working through that adjustment period. I was nervous myself about his first vet visit, especially as we have just moved to the area and had to find a new clinic. The google reviews already posted about St. Francis were very helpful to me in deciding where to take our nervous pup, and I can now attest that all of the positive reviews are indeed warranted! The front desk staff was friendly and professional, both on the phone and in person. When I explained our pup's situation during scheduling, I was offered their first appointment of a day that worked for us (in a few days, not weeks or months) so that he could come in without too much traffic in the clinic. The new patient forms we completed online were thorough in asking about our dog's history and any behavioral or anxiety issues he may experience and how the clinic might make it a more positive experience for him. Richard at the front desk was great during check in and when we checked out. Our tech, Crystal, was friendly, thorough, and amazing with our dog (who was almost as tall as she is). A second tech was enlisted to help with a blood draw (sadly I didn't get her name), which was done in the exam room, and because of their gentle treatment with our dog, he did great! Dr. Gonzalez came in to see us and I knew she was going to be a great fit when she got on the floor before even trying to approach him. She was so gentle and conversational with our baby that he didn't even realize it when she was giving him the vaccination injections! She let him continue to warm up to her before completing his exam, ensuring that he wasn't traumatized by his experience in the clinic. This was literally the best vet visit I have ever experienced, and I expressed as much to the staff. It was such a good experience that I started crying with relief in the exam room (sorry about that, Crystal and Dr. Gonazlez!). While most vet visits are filled with anxious anticipation, this is a clinic that I am actually looking forward to bringing my baby back to and I would highly recommend them!

Our sweet cat Butters was not feeling good, he was meowing and growling & just not himself. We called ALL over & no one could see him today.
When I called St Francis they also had no openings, when I told Richard we've been calling all over & no one can see him, he said "hold on, let me see if we can do anything." Richard talked to the vet & they worked him in right away!!
I truly appreciate Richard caring enough to go the extra mile & the vet for making time for our sweet boy!!!

Eli passed away on the morning of 5/21/2024. He and I would like to thank everyone at St. Francis for all the love and care given to him whenever he came by. Truly one of the best animal clinics in the Spotsylvania area.

Our dog was very sick and had unusual symptoms. Dr Gonzalez immediately took hold of the situation and found the problem and proceeded to heal our dog right away. The staff and doctor always responded to my calls and texts. The staff continue to check on our dog weekly. Answered our questions and very passionate about the dog’s well being

As normal very nice to deal with from the reception area, to the tech to the vet. Both Mollie and Jack appreciate your efforts and concerns.

I love all of the staff here. They are very compassionate. I have two dogs, a happy-go-lucky corgi and a problem child of an akita. The akita struggles at the vet and is very stressed but they do their best to make sure it is as fear free an experience as possible. There is no difference in care or enthusiasm by the staff in greeting and treating my friendly corgi or my skittish akita. I am very pleased with St. Francis and the compassion they bring to helping their clients of all shapes, sizes, and demeanors.
